[Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLII

[Drowlord]

The drow, thinking for a while, had come to a conclusion.
He walked out the door with a dramatic swirl of his cloak.
He hoped to visit again, but he had buisness to attend to.

[Morty]

"Well I'll be addle-coved, I thought I'd stumbled into the Prime through me own carelessness; leastways most these berks look Clueless enough for it to be. Is it some kinda demi-plane then?"

As he says this, Nalhriir starts to subtly change his shape to one slightly more normal. Primes tend to get excited when things start showing up out of the ordinary, and Nalhriir was pretty far out there. His wings and tail shrink back inside his body and he takes on a more generally elven figure. He makes sure to keep his hood up and his face obscured, though, but his bright red eyes still gleam out.

He turns back to the bar to find his drink waiting for him, which he looks at distastefully. "They sure don't serve bub here like they do in the Cage."

That they don't cutter, Michalson says mournfully. And I'm not sure what I'd call the Nexus. It's hard to slap a label on it, if you know what I mean. I wouldn't call bashers here Clueless, though. They see as many weird things each day as we did in Sigil.

[Jivundus]

"It seems I'd best catch a good skeg at it meself, then. What's yer tag, cutter?

[Morty]

I'm Michalson Barring, born in the Hive in Sigil. You? Michalson asks, nodding to Nalhiir and puffing a cloud of smoke from his pipe again.

[Jivundus]

Call me Nal, or Nalhriir if yer feelin' particularly fancy." Nalhriir responds, pulling out his flask again, "Care for a touch of bub? Finest stuff, straight from the Whistles themselves. He offers, holding it out to Michalson.

As fer where I come from, it sounds barmy, but I can't remember right enough meself. I've been a planewalker fer a turn or two, long before The Lady trimmed the factions in Sigil, but where I was and what I was doin' beforehand, I couldn't tell ye if I tried. Fact is, that's what I was tryin' t' learn the dark of when that wayward portal dumped me here."

[Morty]

I won't say no t' that, Michalson says as he accepts the bottle. And that's some story, cutter. The good news is, if there's a way for you to remember what you were doin' before becomin' a planeswalker, someone in th' Nexus can probably help you.

Mer-Timeline

I think Jeanne the Sturgeon is either flopping around on the ground or over Magtok's shoulder. "....aaaan weeee oooh noww?"

I think she's trying to talk, but with fish mouth parts, it's not working very well She looks distinctly miserable, but somehow those around her may be struck with a strong feeling of sexual attraction to the human sized fish.

[LOTRfan]

The elf twitches again, and grips his staff under his long cloak. Yes. I am fine. H-how are you feeling today?

The cyan-colored visor again focuses on the elf, trying to gauge as many details about his face as possible. The electronic screeching continues as he speaks. "We're doing quite fine, thank you. We're actually pretty recent arrivals to this place. Not very hospitable for either of us, unfortunately. How long have you been here?"

[Jivundus]

"I'd hoped so, seein' as I'd trust a portal round 'ere as much as I would a 'loth. I'd swap a pretty bit of jink fer a body that might know a Keeper 'bout this kinda thing." Nalhriir replies.

Lowering his voice a little, he continues, "Lady's word, but I'd be willin' to melt a real jinkscore that me problems stem from one of them Ivories, if ye catch me drift."

[Morty]

Michalson raises his eyebrows.
Memory loss isn't exactly my area of expertise, but that's possible. Now unlike in Sigil, 'ere in the Nexus you can't spit without hittin' an Ivory. Can't say I know of anyone who'd know this kind of dark, though.

It's Zee!

The perfectly normal human female (you suspect nothing!) has apparently returned from the little shindig over at the MagCave without ever actually leaving Trog's and without departing from the MagCave, either. There's probably some kind of explanation for how she does this, but just as probably it isn't worth the time to try to figure out.

Best to just nod and smile and go about one's business.

The morning's fresh batch of brownies and muffins have just been set out and she's now busying herself with taking orders around the tavern, usually fetching people's drinks for them a few minutes before they actually order them.

Again, just nod and smile. Because she's clearly a perfectly normal human female.

[Jivundus]

"Well," muses Nalhriir as he takes another swig and passes the flask back to Michalson, "the only way I know fer sure to lose yer memory is t' take a swim in the Styx, and I'm fair sure ain't never been down that way. Maybe there's a blood hereabouts what can shed some light on the dark o' that."

Nalhriir glances around the crowded tavern, taking in all the patrons and sizing them up. "Elseways, I could raise some stype by askin' round 'ow this may've happened t' me," he says as he throws back his hood, revealing his obscured features, which appear faintly translucent. Despite his pale skin, there seems to be a smoky insubstantiveness to it, as if he were not quite all there.

[Beans]

The doors open and a weird bluish lady walks in! Anyone looking closely may notice that she leaves a small, foot-shaped patch of thin condensation on the floor with each barefoot step.
She glances nervously over her shoulder and steps out of the way of the door, as if not totally sure about the safety of whatever's coming through the doorway next.

[Mindfreak]

Her companion follows behind her. As her bare feet touched the thin condensation from her friend's feet she winces slightly. It was a feeling akin to walking on hot sand barefoot.
She does, however, leaving the floor quite warm.
"So are you going to get anything to drink while we're here? Cause I'm gonna get a burger."

[Beans]

Preil picks a table, making sure her feet aren't in danger of touching the other elemental's feet.
I'll probably just have, um, water...

Reinholdt, the catfish, is curious about whether that blue girl is actually made of water. While he's not overly fond of water, his fish tail feels really dry.

So the half-cat, half-fish monstrosity pounces from its place up in the rafters, aiming to land on Preil!

Best way to find out is to dive right in, right?

If Rein needs water he could just ask.

Zee could totally get him a bucket or something.

ANYWAY!

"Hello! Welcome to Trog's Tavern!" Zee says brightly to the two elemental. "What can I get for you fine beings of pure classical elemental alignment?"

Have to put the classical bit in there.

It's important.

Some elementals are made of weirder things.

Like hope. Or Swiss cheese.

[Mindfreak]

Preil picks a table, making sure her feet aren't in danger of touching the other elemental's feet.
I'll probably just have, um, water...

((Derp >< Yes, her clothing is a fireproof dress, so she doesn't accidentally set things on fire. And her hair is a blue flame instead of orange-red))
Fyre(Fi-REH) nods.
And then orders a burger.
"I'll have a burger please. Extremely burnt."
She keeps her feet away from her friend's.

[Beans]

The mermeow (that's a word now) will first meet a skin-like resistance, which gives way to a more oozy, brackish water than he probably hoped for... shortly before he hits something hard.
Rock hard.
Preil eeps and falls out of her chair sideways, making a wet sort of phthwap as she hits the floor.
I-I'd like water... and salt... and not getting tackled by animals?
She pushes herself off the floor; Reinholdt probably fell out of her when he hit her stony endostructure.

[Reinholdt]

Owww...
Least the oozy water slowed his fall before hitting the hard thing.
Reinholdt, the mermeow, shakes a little. "Ewww. That was way more disgusting than I thought it'd be."

[Rebonack]

Mermeow is now official a thing.

"Alright! I'll have your orders ready for you five minutes ago!" Zee replies cheerfully. True to her word their orders have been sitting there on the table waiting for them. They might feel kind of silly to realize that they just ordered something that they already had.

Oh that FarMaid and her weird temporal shenanigans.

"If there's anything else you need," she stoops down to grab Rein and hoist him off the floor. "Just let me know!"

Should she manage to get a hold of Rein she'll dump him into a bucket of non-soapy water.

"You probably shouldn't leap into customers," Zee admonishes him. "It's bad for business."

[Mindfreak]

Fyre frets as her friend hits the floor!
"Are you okay, Preil?"
She shoved her food down her mouth quickly too.
She eats when she's nervous.

[Morty]

Wouldn't hurt t' ask around, Michalson says as he takes a sip from the flask. Maybe you'll turn up trumps. I 'aven't met many planars during my stay 'ere but plenty of smart bloods around 'ere. He passes the flask back to Nahliir. So if you don't mind me askin' what planes have you been to?

[Beans]

Preil nods at her friend, giving a nervous smile of thanks to Zee with her little pearl teeth.
She sits back down and starts on her salt and water.
I-I'm okay... just a little alarmed at the cat attack.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt flails as he's grabbed. His mobility for the time being is rather limited.

"Are you kidding? People are just begging to be pounced on. That's clearly why they come to Trog's."

And then Rein gets dumped in a bucket of water. He scowls, now grumpy.

Well... grumpier than usual.
...
Not that anyone can really tell the difference mind you.

[Mindfreak]

"O-okay."
Fyre pushes away her empty plate. She ate all her food in a nervous panic!

[Beans]

Preil finishes her water and salt, looking around to make sure nobody's going to jump on her again. Only having one eye gives her a hefty blind spot on her right side.
So... what are we doing again?
She's really never sure about Fyre's plans.

[Rebonack]

"Really? Pouncing?" Zee replies, her tone skeptical. "I have it on good authority that people come here to get inebriated. Or sometimes just to eat food and NOT get inebriated. Or to get inebriated and then sign up for quests without realizing that's a terrible idea."

A beat.

"Huh... I wonder if that's why so many people look for adventurers in taverns. Drunken adventurers are probably more likely to sign up for potentially lethal missions with little or no reward."

Maybe!

Who knows!

"And don't worry! The bucket of water is free of charge!" Zee chirps before bouncing off to wait on a table occupied by a trio of sojourners from Funky Town.

[Mindfreak]

Fyre shrugged.
"I dunno. I was just coming out here with you to see if anything cool would happen."

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt opens his mouth to talk to Zee about her return and Raril and her body and such, but she bounds off without granting a word.

So he closes it and takes up staring at the two elementals.
