Hey, should I get Compass stuff? I got the Manuals for Exalts, The Treatises, Wonders of the Lost Age and Broken Wing Crane,( and obviously the corebook) do I really need the Compass stuff? or is that optional?

I did have the idea. My sketch was a charm branching from to Clear Eyes Defense - going from being able to counter a piece of UMI by slapping the emitter in the face to being able to take UMI off affected people by slapping them in the face seemed the natural progression.

But since I suck at mechanics I never could decide on how it'd work exactly.

Due to the extensive errata of Graceful Wicked Masques, you can basically get most of the books material in the Scroll of Errata.

Of course it's worth getting GWM!

You get:

- Fluff.
- Yet another charmset for Eclipses (and Lunars) to raid.
- Brand new mechanics for the Wyld that are mutually incompatible with all the other Wyld mechanics.
- Charm content that (post November errata) is almost only relevant to the new Wyld mechanics.
- More ways to start a flame war when trying to figure out what is fluff and what's mechanics.
- An entertaining index.
- Stats for exactly three beasts (poppets, manikins and homunculi, which are either crazy overpowered or miserably weak depending on your ability to deal with insane levels of Crippling damage and Essence 3 ping), plus a few behemoths.
- Guidelines to Grace Magic that go counter the errata (and I like mine better).
- Fair Folk character creation rules, which probably takes only a week or two to do if you have a Cray supercomputer on hand. And even post errata can't replicate the sample antagonists in Core.
- Fluff.


Ahem.

Raksha are different. Their main use in a vanilla Exalted game is for antagonists and a versatile (albeit high powered) artifact and special power creation toolbox. Both of these (well, mostly using the latter to create the former) are possible with the (free) errata.

In a game where Fair Folk are significant, it's probably worth getting GWM, though be prepared for headaches figuring out how things work.
