I sell catheters. I would be so happy if we could stop selling them because we found a better way to do that. I'm so sorry for you!

I don't think door-to-door salesmen exist in Alabama. Frankly, I don't know how anyone lived here before air conditioning.

Also, door-to-door CPAP salesman would be more accurate. The catheters are just a bonus (file that under "things nobody should ever hear").

My folks learned that lesson back in the 80s. Any remotley reputable company isn't going to raise your rates for an accident that isn't your fault AND isn't filed on your insurance (they aren't paying for it).

Now, if you file a large number of no-fault accidents on YOUR insurance, it might go up.

"Shouldn't" being the key word here. Wife and I are pretty safe drivers, but I just don't trust insurance companies, generally.

I've been keeping track of my snoring/sleep for the past 3 months due to my father having sleep apnea and mum recently being diagnosed with like a really serious kind of sleep apnea. My friends have told me a couple of times that I don't seem to breathe a few times when sleeping, so it made me worried.

There's one thing I've noticed; when I sleep with my neck support pillow, I snore very rarely, and well obviously my neck pains aren't really there in the morning. If I've managed to switch my hugging pillow under my head whilst asleep, that's when I have major snoring and neck pains.

Also, no signs of not being able to breathe. So that's good. Still makes me feel a little paranoid at times.

To get to go sit in an air conditioned room downtown judging people.. imean, you have to pay for lunch and you may want to keep your judgements private, but that sounds like a pretty good deal. Congrats!

Not a doctor, not medical or professional advice. If she's got central, holy crap get that fixed ASAP. Central apnea is terrifying.

She's queued up for a proper CPAP (or something like that) machine assessment soon.

My mum's always been a snorer and I honestly should've noticed this, but brushed it off. Every time I've been at my mum's in the past couple of years, her snoring started to sound super weird and paced in a totally different way. All of those patterns clicked in my brain after my mum told about being in a sleep study.

One thing that apparently is a sign of speel apnea is getting up to the toilet multiple times during the night. And that's something that became more and more frequent. She thought that it was just due to her menopausal stage, but nope, sleep apnea.

Yep! The bathroom thing is because people will have an apnea, they body will kind of jolt themselves to re-open the airway, and sometimes that jolt will wake them up. Brain wants a reason to be woken up, and going to pee is as good as any, so it settles on that. It's called nocturia, IIRC, night-time urination. Fun stuff. CPAPs typically work really well, unless they need a BiPAP for various reasons (or, if they have central apneas, a BIPAP S/V or S/T. Those are fancy). A lot of people think the symptoms of sleep apnea are just normal aging, and really love their machine once they get used to it. Which is actually kind of cool, because that means they feel a lot better with minimal effort.

I been hocking CPAPs for close to 9 years now. Fun stuff.

You're more likely to get diabetes if you have sleep apnea, and you're more likely to get sleep apnea if you have diabetes.

I'm a fountain of useless information on this, I tells ya. Fun fact! You can potentially treat sleep apnea by learning to master the didgeridoo, as per a UK study from 2006, IIRC

It's worse on your back due to gravity not helping, but if it's solved by not sleeping on your back, you probably don't have it. Now, if you said you could solve it by sleeping in a recliner, I'd take that bet. Easy money.

I've been on this forum for the better part of a decade (I think since I was 15ish), there was a time when I'd post in the Roleplaying Games forum several times a day. I also have a tendency to make very bad jokes based on what other people have posted, having sometimes made a post just to make a joking reply to a thread (these days I almost always follow it up with a serious bit on the thread topic).

    "In notRussia Dungeon Explores YOU!"

    9) Bloviating:
"As Gygax wrote in 1976....", "In Chaucer's the Canterbury Tales" (these seem to be the posts that other playgrounders actually like. Hooray for me!)

    and

    10) Random pop culture references from the 1970's and 80's:
    "A shrubbery". "Khaaaaaan!"

I think that's most of them.

    As to the thread topic:

5e D&D is needlessly and frustratingly complex with all its player options up until the time that I can actually manage to remember them, after which point the options become awesome.
    Your welcome.

"By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Worvan, you shall be avenged!"

    "Demon Dogs!"

    "What is best in life?

    "This goes to eleven".

"What about you centurion, do you think there's anything funny?"

    "When do we get there?"
    "Real soon!"

Are we not supposed to make very bad jokes? Because I may be in some serious trouble if that's the case.

Went bowling for the first time in my life today.

    Three strikes.

Even though I lost I count that as a win in my book.

That's pretty awesome. It's a good game for me if I can break a hundred.
