Re: MoonCat's Magnificently Mythopoeic Random Banter #154
I'd really like to enjoy Dwarf Fortress, but I just can't get past the godawful interface. And I don't just mean the ASCII, I do enjoy roguelikes.
I do love Minecraft, though. The following errors occurred with your search:

It doesn't encourage kitten-killing, it presents a realistic look at the perils of avoiding having your pet spayed or neutered, and the inability to provide proper care that can result!

Re: MoonCat's Magnificently Mythopoeic Random Banter #154
It just come naturally, with how the game is set up. The kittens spawn so darn quickly, and you can't get rid of them after, cause they attach themselves to a dwarf who is kitty-brain-washed into protecting the kitty, and then you have more kitties than dorfs! The only way is to cage them when they're born, for processing. Same with most animals, really. Puppies I usually let go, because you can train them to be war dogs, or hunting dogs, and actually do something useful, and a couple of cats can be useful to hunt down rodents, but it just get's out of hand, and basically makes the game unplayable after a certain point, due to sheer slowness.
It's taken me a LONG LONG time to get into the game, partly due to the IMMENSE complexity. Especially now that irrigation is mandatory if you want to get a farm going...

You've...got a good point Skeppio.
Worira, yha, that's pretty much half of why I hate it.
Unfortunatly Moff, that's a game I don't particularly like either XP

Eh, it's one of the very few games I'm truly good at. Vietnam, Bad Company 1, and to a point, Halo Reach. Any other shooters, I'm mediocre at best.

The only shooter I'm good at (and put effort in) is the Metroid Prime series, and the Mass Effect series.
Delicious infinite ammo (except for Mass Effect 2 )

Re: MoonCat's Magnificently Mythopoeic Random Banter #154
I still haven't seen that, in spite of my terminal Anglophilia. If you'll forgive my painting awfully broad strokes, it's one of the least well known of the classic British comedies in Canada, grouped with fellows like Monty Python or Fawlty Towers or Mr. Bean or that kind of thing.
But if there was a seed of a Richard III Society in Canada in the 70s, I'd be willing to bet there's still a kernel now. I mean there's a UK-based website for it.
Why, Thoughtfur? Why is my heart torn between this broad-grown scion Dominion and its gracious mother Empire?

My brother's been commandeering the Xbox these days, which means ALL BLACK-OPS, ALL THE TIME, but when he's not doin' his thang and I'm not schoolin' newbs at BC:2V, I'm playing Reach.
Also, Kneen, watch Blackadder. Thank us later.Last edited by Moff Chumley; 2011-03-04 at 11:34 PM.

I love how, not only are those completely acceptable ways to play CoD, they're some of the only realistic ways.

Re: MoonCat's Magnificently Mythopoeic Random Banter #154
Yay!
I've pretty much adored them since I first saw one. I still have the first two Absols I got, which were both gifts from a friend.
I'm okay at shooters when I get my mind into them. Generally, I'm that guy who always has a negative KDR but advances through sheer stubborn will.
Something I got from my father, I think. He plays CombatArms regularly and is a fairly high level, but he's horrible at it.

I suck at shooters unless I use a LMG or shotgun. I was awesome when MAG came out.

Re: MoonCat's Magnificently Mythopoeic Random Banter #154
Ah, right. I also play TF2, but am utterly horrible at it (not only because my laptop is obviously not able to play the game well at all, despite it saying I can play max settings easily)
I'd..actually recomend you never play TF2. It's not really all that fun, unless you're really good at FPSes to begin with.

Re: MoonCat's Magnificently Mythopoeic Random Banter #154
I disagree on not playing TF2, at least because of skill. The classes require widely differing quantities of technical FPS skill, from the Sniper, who is almost entirely based on twitch aiming skill, to the Medic, who can be an excellent addition to your team with the right strategy, even if you can't actually aim.
Also, the tech requirements for TF2 are a strange and nebulous thing, shifting according to what poorly optimized update has most recently been put into the game. The following errors occurred with your search:

Re: MoonCat's Magnificently Mythopoeic Random Banter #154
Ok, good point by Worira. I guess I'm just speaking from personal expierance, where tech issues plus my own lack of skill makes the game near unplayable.
Also, hehe, haterade.
