Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
Yeah, Pasta is made of greatness and awesome, and is probably one of the few things I would bother cooking if I wasn't such a lazy arse. Although I'd probably just buy a jar of pasta sauce and a bunch of meatballs to go with it. Homemade sauce is better, but it's so much of a hassle to make.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
See, that's the problem.... I don't dislike pasta with tomato sauce and meatballs, but I prefer my pasta to have cheesy-creamy-milky-not-so-red sauce. And of course, that one goes like two days after you open the jar, and I can't eat it all in one serving....
So yeah....

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
heck with meatballs, I'll use anything: bacon, ground sausage, leftover turkey (that turned out surprisingly good), leftover chicken...'bout the only thing I haven't done is fish.
Favorite though was actually a certain brand of meatballs: it was some kind of Teryaki/pineapple flavoured. Was sooo good, but the only place we could get them (for any sort of reasonable price) was CostCo and they never have them anymore

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
Yeah, I hate it when companies stop making stuff you like. I used to buy a brand of juice when I visited the US, and then one day I went and I was shocked when I learned that the company no longer made that specific juice anymore. I thought I was gonna cry.
And then Coca-Cola stopped making a type of drink here as well....

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
Tomato Sauce is my favourite. I'm not a fan of the richer cream sauces. And I've had pasta with fish before. It can be quite good, depending what kind of fish you use. But normally it's tomato sauce with herbs and meatballs. The meatballs we use are the store brand from the local Superstore, and are cheap and really quite good.
Sometimes if I'm really lucky we'll have some pepperoni I can toss in. Pepperoni in pasta sauce is awesome. *drools*I used to do LP's. Currently archived here:

Hmmm.... fish and I have a complicated relationship. Sometimes I love fish, sometimes I hate fish. There's like a 30% love and a 70% hate kind of deal there.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
@^ Catfish and Bluegill only. If I can't catch it myself, I don' want it.
That's the kicker, they do make them. I saw the normal sized box at the grocery store for I think close to the same price I used to get a CostCo. Which meant I'd be spending almost the same price for almost half the product...Last edited by Cristo Meyers; 2009-01-08 at 02:58 PM.

I don't like fish because of their texture. Steak-like fish are delicious, but hella expensive, and apparently, bad for you. v.v

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
I usually take the easy way out for spaghetti sauce. Brown some hamburger, pour in marinara and heat it to boiling, melt a few slices of gouda into it, and dump it over the noodles.
I've never made noodles myself. Seems to me that would be a huge hassle. But I also tend to prefer rice noodles.
Something that works for people who don't live alone - announce that you're willing to cook for everyone as long as someone else cleans the kitchen after. I know I'd rather cook than clean. Doing the dishes has always been my most hated chore.

I've always been told off for it, actually. The place where I'm from is usually known for seafood. But I freakin' hate it. Maybe I should move to Italy or Germany or France or something.

I highly doubt Capone's kicking it in heaven right now...
...but then again, you never know. I mean, someone's go to provide God his booze...
Damn...now I've got a three-fold craving for pasta, a beef, and rum...if only there was a way to mix the three...

Eh? Don't like rum-sauce? I thought there were some very fine sauces made from rum which would go nicely with a steak and pasta dish.
Silly me.
Isn't chicago more known for corruption, da bears, da bulls, and weird musicals than anything else? Hmm... The sad thing is that the main thing I've ever heard about it is how icy it gets and that it has a nice art museum.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
My appetite has apparently been destroyed. Probably because of a lack of energy expenditure on my part. Two weeks till classes start up again and I have nothing to do all day long. So I just lay here. Its so nice...
Also I can't cook unless it comes from a box, but even then its iffy.

Well... I did it again.
Time was up, no chance of doing it, looking like I was gonna fail...
I submitted a 2, 356 word essay for my philosophy coursework today.
And apparently it's good...
This is my super power isn't? To succeed academically?

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
A beef isn't a steak, it's a sandwich. Thin roast beef soaking in au jus on french bread...usually the whole thing is then dipped in the juice to top it off...so good
...and Chicago doesn't have the market on corruption anymore, now it's the whole state (though, to be fair, Illinois was home to one of the most famous and one of the most infamous presidents the U.S. ever had...Lincoln and Grant). But that's enough o' that.
...and you forgot da Sox and da Cubbiez.
God I miss Springfield around sports time...so much saner...
