Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
I just think cats can be too fickle, I like dogs because they are loyal and trustworthy, dogs will warn you when they are about to rip your face off, the cats I've met won't give you any warning, it will surprise you.

Omigod I have been rendered into a gibbering bass guitar fanboy because I learned the cool bridge part to "Walking On The Moon". It's... So... Fun...

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
Cats and dogs both have their merits, dogs are bland but easy to catch, whereas cats are truly tasty but much more difficult to chase down.
@ Randman: Get back to six or twelve strings! Just because they have a longer neck doesn't mean that they are better!
Seriously tho' Neither is better, they are different however. I guess its just a subjective choice. Personally I like most animals, apart from any that happen to be attacking me at any given time. Also ants, for some reason they make me shudder.Last edited by eidreff; 2009-01-06 at 01:36 PM.

Heck no. This. Is. My. Instrument. I picked it up, not knowing much about it, and when I got home to my sheet music (I'm learning actual notes instead of tabs this time around, and it goes well.), opened to "Walking On The Moon", and fell in love with the bass.

I have a bass. It is made of translucent purple acrylic, and it is beautiful.
And no, the shines were added earlier today.Nobody helped me in any way, shape or form with this avatar, I found it in a child's shoe.

I used to play Cello, and I took some very basic guitar lessons. But that is about it.
I'm a writer first and a music lover second, I guess.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
I lost the end of a finger several years ago, indirectly this led to me getting my current job and not having much time to play my beloved Antonia the six-stringed seductress of seville, or for that matter the cool, glossy, black, pointy monster I plug in to annoy the whole street.
I have however decided to aquire a mandolin.... I am not sure why but the whim has taken me and i'm sure that there are some nice concerti out there (seem to remember them from studying the developement of the concerto many moons ago). Also jigs reels and other light hearted stuff.
Must now start practicing again....Why cannot life be simple? I am simple, therefore surely something that i try to do must also be simple

I play the all-too-manly flute, cuz phallic symbols are the best kind of instrument.
I make avatars if you ask nicely.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
From what I remember of 'cellos that is going to be inconvenient...
On a slight tangent: I appear to be suffering from appalling short term memory loss. I have wandered around the house trying to remember why I got up, I intended to search for various things online this evening and cannot remember where I put the paper that I wrote them down on to remind me. I have double booked mysel so many times in the past few weeks its unbeleiveable.
Anyone else think that xmas and piped music has a measurable damaging effect on memory?Last edited by eidreff; 2009-01-06 at 02:32 PM.

I tried picking up guitar when I was younger, but it never really took. Now the closest I come to playing an instrument is Guitar Hero.
I am musically illiterate.

I'm able to play the keyboard and piano. Also the Organ.
Yay! I can play scary songs in abandoned dark churches later while being a mad scientist! Yay!

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
I have truly become my cats' maid of all work. I'm her chauffeur; cook; personal foodtaster; valet; door opener; groomer; maid; bedmaker; cleaner; the lot.
And yet I don't mind.
Proof that cats are one of the most intelligent beings on earth.
And now for that ever - popular Britlander topic, the weather: it was -3*C this morning, warming up to a lovely balmy 0*C by midday and tomorrow promises to be around -5*C, heating up to a marvelous -2*C.
I am so cold I'm wearing three layers, plus a dressing gown; plus two pairs of socks, plus gloves.
And my hands are still little blocks of ice.
Bathatar!
Squid bones are lies.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
We got snow everywhere on Monday.
And now it begins to turn to ice. On every fragging inch of the ground. Merely stepping out onto our driveway is an extreme sport.
In happier news: Hunter: the Vigil arrived today. I'll have to juggle that with the homework I have...

I know how you feel, all the snow that was at school yesterday has turned to treacherous ice, I have seen plenty of people fall over and hurt themselves. At least I haven't fallen over.... yet.
And for some reason I am quite warm in my bed at night, yet I only wear pyjamas and some thick socks. Maybe its because when I wake up in the morning I'm wrapped up in my blanket like some sort of cocoon. This avatar pierces the heavens and is by Miss Nobody!SpoilerOriginally Posted by Anuan

Random thought warning!
I think all first dates, and possibly seconds and thirds, should be blind dates. No, really, like wear a blindfold. Get to KNOW a person instead of wondering if you wanna bang 'em! I'm so tired of seeing AWESOME people being passed up by some floozy or muscle-bound idiot. Grrrrr!
