    Moryl walks through the city streets, paying attention to his surroundings and trying to ignore the sense of being overwhelmed by yesterday's last encounter. 'Well, I was told not to worry by Borxleck Trab himself, after a fashion, but even so. Destiny... is a tricky thing.'

    He quickly finds himself in the Merchant District, already abuzz with the eternal activity of commerce at work. The alleyway from last night, even though shaded from the morning sun, appeared entirely different in the light. Moryl comes to the stone townhouse and knocks on the door, stepping back a few paces. He casually surveys his surroundings while waiting politely.

    Thipika wakes up with not a small headache, and looks around her bedroom. No male clothing. Good. Of course, that could just mean he had already left. If there was some, erm, than it better as Hell have been good.

    Mikael wasn't even all that hot? God, I can't remember much.

    Anyways, there were things to do. Important things. Really important things. Really really important things. Like, um...

    Um...

    Something to do with...

    God, I need something to drink. Preferably non-alcoholic, though alcohol will do in a pinch. And something to drink too.

    The day after the holiday mostly involves abashed and hung-over priests and priestesses not looking each-other in the eye.

    It wasn't until the bell that she remembered what happened BEFORE last night. She grabbed her proper clothes, and her sword, and ran all the way to the Knights.

    Popping another suckrock in his mouth, Nulgor makes his way over to the Knights' barracks. Then he remembers precisely why he was going there.

    "Ach, almost forgot, ma'am, we gotta head over to the Knights' barracks. Settling the gnoll incident and all that."

    Madrona follows Nuglor to the garrison.

    Once there, a variety of men and women are seen running around, all Knights, Theatre members and a few magi. Alberit sees you and calls you all into an interogation room. Inside is a cactacae wearing the violet ribbon of a theatre member of a high rank, a female knight and a sorceress with pupilless eyes.

    Alberit speaks first. "Alright... in your own words, I need you to tell me what happened last night and how you ended up in the alley way with the gnoll." Madrona explains she was shopping and waiting for some word from her father, but gave up waiting at the Sivis booth and went home when the gnoll attacked her. She looks to Meira after hyperventilatiing while going over the battle.

    Alberit nods. "Alright. Who else wants to share?"

    Moryl recounts his account to Alberit efficiently and in good but not too much detail. He was out for most of the day visiting his sister and family business in the merchant district and was heading back home whne he heard Madrona's scream. He rushed over to help, but the gnoll was more or less handled when he arrived. Moryl remembers that almost when he arrived Madrona's Magic blessing activated (in Moryl's opinion, accidentally), and severely wounded the gnoll. Luckily, Moryl was able to heal and stabilize the gnoll.

    Meira telss her story, how she was strolling in the bazaar, looking for a good place where she would set up her stall when she met with Nulgor. Then they were interrupted from taling by the gnoll attack. The rest, she confirms Madrona's story.

    Alberit nods. "Alright. The gnoll was taken to a holding cell and its owner divined. She was charged 1600 gold in damages for the amount of enchanter and possible psionic treatments for Lady Madrona as well as 20 gold a piece for each of the Sinter's Helpers we saw last night." Alberit gives two platinum coins to each of you. Alberit looks at a spreadsheet he has and nods. "Yep. Well, I'm glad you were all so cooperative. Also, might I add it was an honor to see you both again Lady Meira and Lady Madrona, as well as you, Lady Thipika. As for you, um... Orilur, Nuglor Shroov and Bridgeman Moryl, glad you were so cooperative, and I hope we can work together in the future." Alberit smiles and escorts the rest of his entourage out. He leaves you in the vesitbule with the door open.

    He pauses, and looks around at the others who had gathered in the Knights' barracks.

    "Lady Madrona...you wouldn't be too against your five rescuers dealing with your...problem, would you? You've seen how we took care of the gnoll, maybe they could help me help you?"

    Madrona nods. "That would be fine. If you would all be willing to, of course. Sir Nuglor, I need to bid you my leave. I have some shopping to do. I hope you quest is fruitful." She looks to the rest of you. "And of course, you will all be paid well. My father has left on a trading expedition to a village in Van Paer. He has yet to return, and its been twice as long as it would normally take him. I am... worried to say the least. All of you may come to my house tonight, and I will board you all for the expedition. And... haste would be appreciated..." She bows to you all. "If you can all meet me tonight, one bell after moonrise, I would very much appreciate it." Madrona walks off to the grocers and is soon out of sight.

    (OOC: If Nuglor wants to explain the quest better, or just talk to the gorup, now would be the time to do it.)

    "This is certainly intriguing. I look forward to learning more tonight, then. And it is always good to have new friends. Until evening, then!"

    Moryl looks around, nods to everyone, and heads back to the Church of Aizen Myo. There he gathers up all his gear, changes into clothing more suited for travel, and sees to his responsibilities seeking to be excused to go on a quest. At last he also pens a letter to his sister, describing that he will be gone for a while. He has the letter delivered, while he pens a second letter to be delivered on possible news of his death. He then spends the balance of time reexamining the destiny detector and the letter from Borxleck Trab.

    Moryl leaves for Madrona's near the appointed time.

    "Is destiny... stirring?" he whispers to no one.

    Thipika smiles, and waves goodbye as she heads back to the temple to prepare. Not that she has much to prepare. Actually, she really doesn't have much. She'll probably spend the rest of the day doing regular stuff, until the morning.

    Arriving at the Stormy Sword inn, Meira goes towards Alton and tells him: Hello. I came here mostly to get an explanation as to why you gave ME a sending stone, but also because *draws crossbow* I FINALLY FOUND MY CROSSBOW ! Thought you might want to know...no real reason... Meira puts her crossbow back where it belongs.


    Later that day, Meira picks up some ingredients so that she may start working on her order.

    Alton collapsed from the shock of havng a crossbow drawn at him, but his good friend Noddlebobble admits something to Meira.

    Alton has a thing for pretty halfling girls that can work with their hands.

    Making magic items, he means. Of course.


    When Alton comes to, he blushes, finding out his gnome friend Noddlebobble has told Meira. He kicks Nod in the pants and sends him to the kitchen, then apologises for fainting.

    "You think I'd be more used to having weapons drawn on me" he says. "I run an inn after all. With a few patrons without much coin on them..." Alton looks down and kicks at his feet.

    He looks sad when Meira leaves. Much like a dog watching it's owner leave for work.

    Later that night, Madrona cooks for the party a large meal of many different foods: roasted chicken, fried porkchops, brisket and beef stew, collard greens, hearty bread, pomegranate seeds, dwarven ale, good port wine, sasparilla, herbal teas, heady cheeses, and big chops of mutton covered in herbs and butter, with mint jelly ready to be slathered on.

    The next morning, Madrona sees you off in the morning. One large question remains: how will you get to Van Paer? Train? Riding bird or horse? Or just going on foot? What say the adventurers?

    Ships tend to sink. Plus, by train is faster and more reliable... We could ask at the docks there even if we took the train.

    Orilur asks "What way did Madrona's father travel? We may want to go by the same way. There may be signs of what happened if he never made it to Van Pear, but if that does not seem reasonable to do I am fine with going by train."
