Dani wraps her arms around Sam's neck, not crying as much now but still clinging to her.

Sam closes the door behind them and just holds Dani.

Always Dani... Sam sighs and kisses her fiance's cheek.


Tobias makes it back inside, and grudging trudges back to his infirmary cell, flanked by drones.

DC and Marley should teleport right into the great room.

Dani kisses Sam's cheek softly, shifting a little to get more comfortable in her partner's arms.



Quinn, perhaps surprisingly, is standing in the doorway, blocking Tobias' room. Going somewhere?

Sam actually lies down on the bed now.


Tobias does an abrupt aboutface, ignoring the protests of the drones, and approaches DC. Hey, that guy said you were one of the people in charge here? I presume you were notified about my detainment...?

Marley keeps running and screaming all the way to his room, where he uses all the locks he put on the door when he was a bit paranoid.
He then hides under his bed and starts rocking back and forth, hand in his mouth to keep from screaming.

"The horror, the horror, the horror."

Since Marley ran off to his room, DC turns to Tobias.

Yes? I suppose you were being kept in the infirmary after the explosion, right?

Dani curls up against Sam, hugging her tightly.

A hurt look crosses Quinn's face...before she sighs and heads back to her room, climbing into bed next to Misaki.

A few minutes later, Corwin arrives back at GLoG. He goes to the kitchen and makes himself a stiff drink.

Yeah. I was originally put in a cell because I beat up a member, then carried her here to receive medical attention. I voluntarily detained myself, and then didn't escape when it could have been really easy to do so.

Well, since being locked up, I haven't heard anything about how long I'll be here. No actualy questioning either. So, after spending an exhausting evening medically assisting you guys, I'd like to know: What the hell?

Thanks. Tobias nods, then goes to collect his gear from his infirmary cell. He also cleans up all the blood and chalk.

DC goes over to the bulletin board and posts a message.

Tobias then leaves. Well, not quite immediately. He stops by Quinn's room to slide a note underneath the door before walking out.

Vidalia wakes up. She slowly, painfully reforms into her human shape. Damn her!!

Corwin pours himself another drink and slams it down, still standing in place just inside the kitchen.

Czernov, in his lab, working hard as ever, receives some emails from his internet phone, and, with one hand, pulls it out his pocket, and reads, or just looks. The glass of water, which, dramatically, was in his other hand, falls to the floor, shattering neatly, his eyes wide, his immense composure breaking like a corn dolly under strong wind. Happy. But there is no time for mourning - he can not let this go, like he let things go with George. This needs fixing. And his eyes flicker, a bright, psionic emerald green.
Several things happen:


Czernov spends a few minutes in his lab, still, working with a few objects, most large, and fairly grey. Wouldn't be unfamiliar to scientists of his hey-day, really. He's fiddling, very carefully. Despite the tears forming. Before pressing a few buttons, on different devices, he sighs, leaving the room.


In the morgue, Czernov stares down at Chelonie's disfigured body, his eyes cold. Noticing Vorka, sitting to one side of him, curled up, crying, the older man says nothing but Get your book. As one may have noticed, his voice has changed. And then, with tears melting away in his eyes, he pulls away and starts to stride out of the room, looking.. unhappy. To say the least.


Striding down the corridor, Czernov notices Clara, the plant-controller, who is rippling into existence, out of intangibility, nearby, glad that her "vanish me to gas" potion let her escape the wrath of that truly barbaric, gun-toting duellist, and that hideous mouthed.. thing of a woman. Unfortunately for Clara, she does not escape Czernov, quietly pummelling her to death with the barrel of his laser-gun. And shooting the fallen corpse for good measure.

And then Czernov strides through one of the GLoG portals, and vanishes away. Huh. Where's he going?

Vlad's running around the base. Looks... odd. Same thing with Susan. And Mage, who I keep forgetting to play.

The morning after the Apoca-Con, a young woman with a scarred face walks into GLoG. Anyone looking at her through peripheral vision might think they see a voluptuous woman in her thirties, a pre-teen girl, or an ancient crone. But to normal vision or the security cameras, it is merely Vasilisa.

She walks to the bulletin board and pins up a message:

Yesterday, Astir's Spouse flooded the area with a poison gas that removes sapience. I am unsure of the area of effect, but for those who has been exposed, it will begin acting soon if it hasn't already. I am working on an antidote, but it will be a few days before it will be prepared.

Corwin woke up from where he had fallen asleep sitting on a stool with his head resting on the kitchen bar.

His head felt impossibly thick. I didn't have that much to drink... did I? He looked at the bottle which was still in his hand. But since he couldn't remember how full it had been when he'd started drinking, that told him nothing.

His thoughts swirled. Chelonie. Reinholdt. Melody. Miranda. Imber.

There was something very important he needed to remember.

A weapon. He needed a weapon.

He staggered to his feet and headed out the front door.

Marcos wakes up, unknowing to Happy. He gets up and takes a shower before heading to the kitchen.

Wenomir udeadtimes and checks what's happened. When he sees what Reinholdt's done, he switches the security screen off and stands there, the sentience-removing drug seemingly not affecting him. He's completely silent, but his eyes glow, and the air around him get hotter and hotter. Finally, he strips the plaster from his arm, which seems to be healthy - except that it's covered in red veins and cracks. He breathes deeply.
That's it, cat, he says to noone in particular, I'm going to tear you limb from limb. He heads outside.

Eko undeadtimes. She's on the ceiling in the Great Room. Eko is a lizardperson with gecko-like traits wearing no clothing. However, some knowledge of reptilian anatomy is required to tell her gender.

The girl with the sun tattoo just below her left collarbone woke up under the wrecked refreshment table where she had slept. There had been Others who had wanted the shelter, but she had stopped them... somehow. She saw the two males still asleep, but blocking the exit. No, she hadn't stopped them. She remembered that.

She crawled back underneath, using her small size to advantage, until she found another way out.

She pushed to her feet. There was a Big Place nearby. Perhaps shelter was there. Perhaps food. Or perhaps only more males. But she didn't know where else to go. She was an animal, but without a lifetime of animal instincts to guide her. Houses were good. Open air was bad. She knew that.

She walked to the door, her muscles still knowing she was a biped, and some small part of her knowing that the thing she headed towards would let her into the Big Place.

She pushed at the door. Nothing happened. She put her hand on the round thing that stuck out, pulled it and pushed it, until muscle memory knew to twist. Nothing happened still. She examined the area closely, trying to solve this mystery, when the door suddenly opened, and there was a thing floating in front of her.

She knew somehow that this thing was not an enemy. She had been hurt yesterday and something like this had helped her. So she walked inside.

The drone followed her, still spewing words that were so much gibberish to her empty mind, as she found her way to....

Fruit! She grabbed at the bowl of grapes sitting on the kitchen counter, sat down on the floor, and began to eat.
