ooc: Sorry to post this here, Kroy, but I am doing so in the event that you forgot about the ooc thread.
SpoilerNot that I don't enjoy a good dungeon crawl, but can we assume that the hallway will be cleared eventually if we continue to use this technique of construct springer and the dwarf uses his take 10 score of 26 fixing the traps to not get us? Basically, it is:
1) give construct a wide berth as it goes down hall.
2) note trap locations for disabling (mapping)
3) when construct is at a safe enough distance away, dwarf moves ahead to disarm
4) when dwarf signals to move ahead, party does so and checks out pit or door or whatever*
5) repeat steps 1-4
(note: We should take a look down the holes to see if there were those that fell before us or any other secret things hidden while the rogue does his thing.)
PbP is slow enough as it is. At this rate, we will not get through the hallway this summer.

While making your way, Kyra, you notice incredibly powerful necromancy magic coming from the end of the corridor. You (the party) make it to the end without consequence.
At the end, a portion of the red tilled path leads to a mist-filled stone archway. Three large stones are embedded in the arch. Each has a different hue-Yellow on the lower left, bluish at the top, and orange on the lower right.
The other fork, directly in front of you, leads directly to a leering devil face set in the mosaic at the corridor's end. The devil's mouth gapes wide and empty-in fact it is dead black. Emitting no hint of light, and allowing none to enter. (This is what emits the necromancy magic).

Looking with her true seeing at the misty corridor, she tries to gleen its magical nature as she says, "I would not touch this mouth, nor go near the face, for it emits a great deal of necromantic magic. Perhaps it may be part of Acerak's phylactery, but I doubt a wise and powerful lich would put that here." She then says, "I can summon another construct and send it through the mist and see what it sees. However, I am unsure of the magic the mist may have."
Edit: "Also," Kyra considers aloud, "we haven't checked for any secret doors and passages down the hall, have we?

SpoilerA twisted and distorted looking sarcophagus appears to be decaying on the wall. The skull shaped headpiece protrudes just enough so you can run your hands on it and feel it. (Wall of A5)

Hmmm, let me get some graph paper and map this out for my own reference and think about it a bit. (I hate playing a character smarter than I... a lot smarter, too.)

SpoilerBrilliant colors are everywhere; pigments painted on stones are undimmed by the passage of decades. The floor is a colorful mosaic, featuring a distinct winding path of red tiles forming a 2-foot wide, meandering trail going down the corridor. A few chips and gaps reveals that the cement or plaster covers the underlying stonework of the corridor, and it mostly provides a smooth surface for the many illustrated scenes.
So, can we chip away the plaster? I would like to do that around this bronze box thingie. I suggest we follow it along the wall to see if it reveals any doors. The dwarf's axe should make short work of anything being adamantine. Concealed doors are different than secret doors, I would assume.

You peel (slash, whatever) back the plaster enough to uncover hinges on the boxes bottom that most likely opens. It seems tightly locked. On the top of the box, there is a stud that looks like it con be pushed. There is also a needle that seems ready to get your finger at a moments notice.

Hargoth, peering over the psion's shoulder as she removes the plaster, spies the needle as well, and pushes her aside before carefully searching the mechanism and then disabling any traps he may find.

Raig follows through the corridor, listens to Kyra, and moves back skittishly as soon as possible.
Once back to the safe spot, Riag stands up, and states to anyone who cares to listen to his banter, "Well, while nice (although boring) that I haven't had to do anything yet, let's get three rounds of applause for our trap clearing crew in advance!"
Raig claps as quickly as possible.
He also waits for Kyra and Hargoth to finish fiddling with the traps.I don't really have anything to put here.

ooc: If no one objects to letting a summoned construct do the dirty (and deadly/dangerous) work, the construct will be summoned and push the button. I realize that it may be tedious, but Kyra would rather not lose party members if it could be prevented.

ooc: Perhaps it is because it's late, but I was nearly reading the screen with a pillow in front of me like I used to do when watching scary movies. Whew. However, like in the movies, when the heroes think all is well, it turns out to not be.

Quickly closing her eyes as Hargoth pushes the button, Kyra slowly opens one, then the other and lets out a sigh of relief and then says, "Hey, warn us next time, would you?" She continues saying, "Since you have a death wish, you see in the box from underneath? Let me take a look inside before you stick your hand in there. My guess is there will be a rot grub that has a permanent illusion to appear to be a gem or something."

When the construct pulls the lever, it gets jammed halfway through. As tough it was jammed. Would you like it to push harder, leave it, do something else, search for traps, examine the statue, etc...

Hmmm. Didn't expect that. So there WAS a pit there? Interesting. Now I am truly confused (and even more chicken).

After giving a confused look to the dwarf, Kyra then smiles and says smugly, "See, and you wanted to do all the fiddling yourself."
She then will fly over and hover above the pit and look down with her true seeing before commanding the construct to go down and retrieve/investigate any of the things down there.
