Nefele vs. Zipding

A towering figure in a dark robe enters the room where you have been milling around sizing up the competition. His face is completely obscured by his hood. He raises both hands to get your attention and speaks in a deep voice.
Khut, Moira. You have been chosen to fight. Prepare yourselves! With that he brings his hands down and the two of you find yourself transported to the arena

OOC:
You've got time for one swift action and one standard action before you get transported in case you need to adopt a stance or activate an item.

On the map, green is open terrain, yellow is difficult terrain, red/brown is the cliffs (10ft, Climb DC20, blocks LoS). Arena has a 60 foot ceiling.

Opening post should have an initiative roll, anything you said after he called your name and what, if anything you did with the 'surprise round' before being transported. After that, start fighting in initiative order.

Sorry, I went blind. That was a Stone Dragon maneuver, right? You can't use Stone Dragon maneuvers when you don't stand on the ground. That's why I didn't pick any of them.

Yes, I saw it (sorry for not noticing it the first time). The problem with Stone Dragon maneuvers when air-born remains, however.
Exact wording:

Unlike with other disciplines, adepts of this school rely on an external force— the power of the earth and stone—to help power their maneuvers. As a result, Stone Dragon maneuvers can be initiated only if you are in contact with the ground.

However, the Distracting Ember trick works like a charm.

She draws another blade from her belt, and strikes once, with a maneuver that seems more elegant this time.

That was a good fight. This was a new experience for me, my first gestalt character and my first ToB character. I think I did well. If you're not immune to Power Attack, I would have used Shock Trooper and Leap attack combined with a powerful attack, that would have taken you down immediatly because I deal an extra +115 damage on a charge with a +36 to attack rolls

First ToB build? Yeap, you did VERY well. :)

There are a lot of details and tricks and combos in there, and it takes some time to get the hang of it. Keep up the good work. :)

EDIT: And yes, the only problem with Shock Troopers/Leap Attackers/1000 damage per attack is that Power Attack can be negated by a single feat. Which is why it's a bad idea to base an entire build on it, but a good idea to use it and have maneuvers for backup.

Thanks for the advice. I might change around some maneuvers after another fight, but I really enjoyed that. Also, if I had got 1 critical in, you would be dead from 12d8+1d6+81 damage and take a -4 penalty to strength
