I'll escort her out of the room personally... while I thank you for what you have done, I will be blunt and say I don't trust you. You stalked me and walk around with a skeleton, for god's sake.

The man then grabs his niece gently and they begin to walk up the stairs. The man looks back at you guys once, then shakes his head and keeps going.

Jon puts his hand up as the man tries to leave. Before you go sir, I would appreciate your name. After making the request, Jon allows the man to leave, with or without a reply.

Synithax would look down at the unconscious mayor's body, a pool of blood still seeping out from under his buried face, from where he crushed it into the table top. The force of the blood was so hard that the nose was surely shattered, and a few teeth might have been knocked loose.

Hearing the man's words only strengthened the words he spoke to Mr. Jonathan Hooker within the bar. Mr. Jonathan Hooker clearly had intentions of being helpful, but it seemed as it wasn't wanted at all. The hooded figure let the two talk it out, while he remained next to the mayor, awaiting further instructions.

And now, we must decide what we are to do, Synithax, Grigori. Jon says as he gets up, still holding his knife. If you don't object, I would like to minimize the bloodshed by including our new friends. What say you guys.

Synithax was at first a bit confused by his companion's request. It wasn't that he did not understand it, Synithax understood that he wanted the mayor's death on someone else's hands. No, what Synithax had trouble understanding was why Mr. Jonathan Hooker would deny Synithax his sole duty for being here. He was waiting for the sign to remove the mayor from this realm, he knew it was coming, and the sickle in his hands was ready to slice across the mayor's neck at a moment's notice.

Perhaps it was another one of his companion's elaborate plans. Mr. Jonathan Hooker had a knack for dealing with things...differently than he would have himself. Such as sneaking around the guards, and picking the door open. He had to admit that Mr. Jonathan's Hooker's subtly in manipulating the door was quite useful, perhaps this will be as well.

So, Synithax would turn his strong, uncaring gaze upon the elf once again, attempting to reinforce the terror the elf had when he first set his gaze upon him. A pale hand would then reach out, a finger pointing towards the elf, and Synithax began to speak. Overall, there was no change in his voice, or his words. His words were still long, and complex; and his voice still monotone and neutral. However, anyone that knew him long enough could tell that he was trying to act more 'benevolent' for lack of a better word.

Corellion Larethian is displeased with your path, elf. You have strayed far from your roots, and turned to acts of evil in order to further your own gain. The Protector of Life demands atonement for your sins, or die by the hand of Death.

To atone for your sins of crime, you must act out against those that commit evil. The mayor has kidnapped an innocent with the intent of stealing an item from another, perhaps even shed innocent blood in the process.
Synithax would then place one of his sickles in front of the elf, and forced back the mayor's head, exposing the neck. A jester both to make the slice easier, and to give the elf a hint on what was expected of him, in case he was too dense to understand it himself. You know what is expected of you, elf. Do this, and your elven god shall look favorably upon you once again.

The elf shakily picks walks to the corner, and picks up his bow. He notches an arrow onto it, and puts it next to the mayor's head. His hand wobbles constantly, and he can barely aim, even at point blank range. He pulls back the string, but the arrow drops off and clatters to the ground. You can see the mayor struggling, his eyes wide with terror.

The elf nocks another arrow, this time slightly more steadily. He pulls back his bow again. With a twang, it the bowstring releases. With a squelch, the arrow flies through the mayor. With a thud, it hits against the opposite wall, blood splattering on the ground where it lands. The mayor slumps over, clearly dead.

Indeed, we should be on our way out. Let me take a quick look around first. With that, Jon proceeds to gather up his rope, including any scrap that might have been lying around. Then, he searches the room, giving special attention to the dead mayor, for anything easy to carry and conceal. Satisfying himself, he packs to head out, gaining his father's diary from Synithax with a sense of protection for the item, packing it in the middle of his pack, where it would be quite safe in a fight. He turns to the dwarf and elf, informing them that they'd be free to go after a few day's hike.

If no one objects, Jon is ready to head up the stairs, but will pause at the top, attempting to re-secure the door behind them, if no one is upstairs to interrupt(attempting to put the board back on, if possible).

Mmm...yes. I suppose to you, it would be a shame to be unable to torture an already damned soul through your necromancy. Synithax would retrieve the the sickle he placed upon the table, and followed Mr. Jonathan Hooker on his way out of the cellar. He watched as he would secure the door, letting the two down their sit with the corpse, while they would make their escape. Once the deed was done, the hooded figure would confront Mr. Jonathan Hooker, making sure he had his undivided attention. There were no hostile actions, of course, but Synithax wanted to make sure his concerns were heard.

Your request to have someone else bring the mayor to his death troubles me, Mr. Jonathan Hooker. I understand your intentions, but why I do not understand is your concern of it being traced back to us...or more specifically, me.

You must understand by now that the guiding of souls to the other realms is my duty. I do not intent to hide what I am here to do, Mr. Jonathan Hooker. If anything, if the mayor's death was traced back to me, they would understand that I am real. Not some fairytale illusion.

Synithax, I'm aware what you feel your calling is. For myself, I'm not yet convinced. However, there must be some truth to your sense of destiny, as I've felt a power and understanding rise up within me since having met you guys. And if it is true, it seems that my destiny is to serve as your protector until you've grown powerful enough to not need one. At present, your strength alone is not enough to defend against those who would seek revenge for the Mayor's death, and for myself, I am not yet ready to offend armies and kings. For now, if I'm to protect your flank, I must do it with subtlety, not force.

If your purpose is to protect him, mine must then be to provide a subject of his reprimands.
I then walk ahead and, once they are about 10 feet from the door, slam it open and storm outside, shouting back at them.

I told you ve should have come earlier! The mayor probably left already!

If Synithax were a lesser man, he might have taken offense to those words; who did Mr. Jonathan Hooker think he was, calling him weak? It was for Synithax to decide if he was strong enough to defend against those who challenge him...but Synithax is not a lesser man. Though he did not agree entirely with his companion's words, some of it had merit nonetheless. Synithax was not foolish enough to believe he couldn't be defeated...

    Perhaps you are right...

The hooded figure would then turn to look at the necromancer storm out, putting attention on himself as he went. Synithax merely awaited for Mr. Jonathan Hooker's move.

As for the goods you found:

    Spoiler

Not much. You could, obviously, take gear from the elf and the dwarf, but why would you want to carry around the murder weapon? The mayor, however, had a dozen platinum pieces and a small, golden ring set with a red gem, and engraved with a feather on one side. The room itself, being a cellar, had little, unless you want to take the wine.

Jon quietly follows the wizard, keeping himself aware of his 'charge', so as not to ruin the ruse. Once they get beyond the guards' vision, Jon will discuss the urgency related to the group's departure. Unless there's dissent, they'll swing by their room for their things(asking Synithax to carry Jon's excess arrows), and then head out of town.

    First short post...whoo!

The hooded creature follows behind Mr. Jonathan Hooker, more than content to allow the necromancer to fool the guards, confident he can not undo what he so perfectly set up.
