When using X to Y, consider the following:

4) Don't neglect your hit points. This is often a problem for Dex based builds, but it's worth re-iterating for everyone. The most important defense you have is hit points. Even with ridiculous Saves and AC, it's only a matter of time before you roll a natural 1 or some enemy rolls a natural 20. And when that happens, usually the only thing standing between you and death is your hit point total. Usually this means having respectable Con, being Undead to get Cha to hit points, or drugging your DM so he lets you use Faerie Mysteries Initiate or some other obscure feat.

In Pathfinder all undead use Charisma anywhere Constitution would otherwise be used - but that's Pathfinder-specific.

Charisma: Use Charisma for anything pitting the creature's will against an opponent: gaze attacks, charms, compulsions, or energy drain. The creature's Charisima modifier also determines the save DC for any spell-like abilities it has (no matter what form they take).
Also use Charisma for any DC that normally would be based on an ability score the creature does not have. For example, undead creatures have no Constitution score, so any poison attacks they have would use Charisma to determine the save DC.

Barbarian: There are not many barbarians among the undead, but gangs of barbarian ghouls and ghasts are used as shock troops by the more powerful lords of Xaphan. A raging undead barbarian does not gain an increase in Constitution (or anything dependent upon Constitution such as hit points or Fortitude saves) but uses its normal Charisma modifier instead of its Constitution modifier to determine how long a rage lasts. Because undead are immune to fatigue, an undead barbarian is not penalized when a rage ends.

That applies to other non-abilities too, so if you had something like a ghost elephant doing a trample attack, Charisma would replace Strength for the DC (this specific example doesn't work because of how the ghost template is worded with regard to the base creature's attacks, but it illustrates the point nonetheless).

I dunno... DFA is already the SADdest class in the game, with both HP and primary attack being based on Con. Going necropolitan would put both their primary and secondary attacks on Cha, but no stat at all on HP. Probably better to just stay alive.

I'm reasonably sure the thread is no longer getting updates. Gloura is still listed as a template in the Charisma, AC, and saves sections ... when it's a monster race (same as the Nymph). At least three people have mentioned that:

First off (as in very first entry) - Magic of Incarnum is 3.5 not 3.0.

I think I know why it may be confused - further down Magic of Faerun is 3.0 unless the 3.5 update document is applied - looks like you have them reversed.

I'll fix it when I'm at my PC. But the mistake isn't mine. I didn't actually manually redo the table, but used a converter thingy I made. So there's no way it swapped those two (I might think it would swap two adjacent ones...god know how though. But not ones multiple entries apart)

As a side note, I only check the forums once a month-ish now. (My small child basically eats 90% of my free time. I'm really looking forward to when he can read so that I can play D&D again). So if anyone wants me to update any of my old handbooks or other posts, you basically have to PM me a link the corrected post (without Quotes, so I can just cut and paste it).

Since this is a 3.x thread and you seem okay throwing in both WotC and PF books into the mix, why not add other 3rd party books? The Hida Defender from one of the Rokugan Campaign settings adds Con to Attack, Damage and Armor.

Actually there's TWO Crab clan PrCs called Hida -something- that play around with adding Con to stuff...
