Sadly, Rei's been gone for awhile*. We're not quite sure where she's went, but I'm sure she's fine.

Also, I don't get what you mean by that last bit there... especially since I didn't say that. What do you mean by this 'edit'? I didn't edit!Last edited by The Dark Fiddler; 2009-11-24 at 07:49 PM.

Re: Crack Pairings 3 - 50% More Squick
Personally, I'd recommend staying away from it at all until you(rhetorical you) know your family's history better. I nearly made myself an alcoholic after just a few drinks because of how susceptible my family is to alcoholism. (My father had a similar issue with it when he was my age, though he has no problem with it now.)
Also, Kaytara, Happy Birthday. (Sorry I didn't say that before. Probably should have. )Last edited by Kyronea; 2009-11-24 at 10:32 PM.

Re: Crack Pairings 3 - 50% More Squick
Well hello there everybody. My name is Dark_Stryke, and I've been watching this thread for a while now. Not in a creepy, voyeuristic way, but with interest towards the wonderful (and often frightening) writing found here. Really, there is some quality writing to be found in this thread!
So, two things have pulled me out of lurker mode for like the second or third time since I signed up on these forums.
1) Water-Smurf. I know I'm a little late on the bandwagon, but I'd just like to say that your writing is incredible. You took two characters who, to my knowledge, have not even spoken directly to each other in the comic, and crafted a very deep and believable romance story between them. I like the Tiasal fics as well, though not quite as much as the stories about V and RC. I'm interested in the dark turn that the current Tiasal story seems to be taking. I think it'd be pretty cool if Tiasal became an apprentice of Xykon's even temporarily.
So, with that out of the way, the second thing that brought me here is the discussion about BEER!
As a Canadian citizen of Scotish descent, I love me some booze. Now, CoffeeIncluded, not that I'm advocating that you drink under age (I'm really not. Those laws are in place for a reason), I will say that you shouldn't judge all beers just by trying Guinness. It's a very heavy, very bitter beer, and I'd definitely say that it's not for everyone.
Personally, I'm more of a fan of ale. Alexander Keith's or Rickard's Red if I can afford it, or James Ready or Maclay's for a budget beer.
However, some of the best beer I've ever had is Innis & Gunn. It's a beer from Scotland that comes in a variety of flavours. The makers age it for 60-90 days in oak casks that are used to make whisky, which results in some interesting flavours. There's toffee, vanilla, and even hints of orange in some of these. I... grra... Now I'm thirsty.
Er, Ahem. Sorry for just kind of jumping into the middle of things with very little in the way of introduction. Saw a conversation that hit a nerve, had to post.

Re: Crack Pairings 3 - 50% More Squick
Cracklord your stories are nasty enough anyways. On a totaly other subjekt I'am a teetotaller. Mostly because my mom is a health theacher and had pictures of alcoholics livers with her home for work nothing else. and I decided that and haven't had any regrets about it. And I'am pretty fuzzy anyways so I don't need any drugs. And I have this thread. I think i'am drifting of subjekt here. You might understand this is because of the talk of beer and other alchols.
Evil. Iam diffrent. Have a problem with that...

Politics is the most accurate word in the English language. "Poli" in Latin meaning "Many" and

Gah! Guys, the amount of warmy fuzziness here totally took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting that. Thank you so much, guys.

And I seem to have inadvertedly started a discussion about beer. ^^; Whoops.
Eh, I'm not a drinker. Haven't drunk a single beer so far in my life, even. I like to stay weird like that. XD

Re: Crack Pairings 3 - 50% More Squick
Hey, I've got some ideas on how to run the Author Awards for the Squickies. (And a new crack pairing, but I'll post that in a bit.)
Let us assume that I get nominated for the Oneshot awards.
1. For choosing nominations and winners, the people on the "panel" may not have submitted a piece of artwork in the category in question.
For example: I could be on the panel for the Series Squickie, but I could not be on the panel for the Oneshot Squickie.
2. Voting is open, but people who are nominated in a certain category may not vote in that category.
For example: I could vote in the "Best Artist" category, but not in the "Oneshot' category, assuming I get nominated. If I were to create a piece of artwork but it did not get nominated, then I could still vote in the "Best Artist" category.
3. One person, one vote per category. This is just basic.
4. In a case where there is a very large amount of nominations (Say...Ten or more?), then the runner-up will receive a Squickie as well.
How do these sound?My webcomic!

Re: Crack Pairings 3 - 50% More Squick
Reasonable.
And on the subject of alcohol, all I've ever had is the cheap wine they give out in church. Consequently, the only time I've ever been tipsy is during mass. Not exactly pleasant, and given my family's history of drinking problems, I'd imagine that's the only time I will ever drink more than a few sips during a toast.
...And that is how I met your father.
