Belated reactions, especially belated reactions to being hit with a snowball, make things all the more amusing.

"I've got more where that came from, too!" Avatar hollers at the mysterious gargling shrubbery.

Then attention goes back to Fan. The young man rubs the back of his head idly. "Eerr... Blue skin? No. Can't say that I've seen any smurfs running around recently. Sorry."

Noah, of course, is perplexed by what Fan says. He does not know what an alignment is or how you're supposed to scan it. "An.... alignment..... scan?

Scan... oh, I have to go through security? I see, well, here's my bag," he says, dumping it on Fan's hands. "It's OK, I've only got books, notes and a couple of office supplies. Although I'm guessing scissors would be considered weapons, so if I can't go in with those, you can just take them, I don't mind.

My watch won't set off the metal detectors will it? I always get nervous when going through security."

Snow leaps up in little clapping hands to box Avatar's ears.
Atticus isn't particularly sensible, right now, it'd seem.
However, he is somewhat interested by the talk of an organisation for good, redemption, etc., and so is quietly and quickly moving (with his bush, as a mobile shield, see) towards the conversation, to eavesdrop.
And perhaps see if he wants to join!

With a decisive demonstration of daring dexterity he ducks and dives under the devious attack! Does a rather nice handspring, grabbing two handfuls of snow and lobbing them at the shrubbery as he takes off in a dead run!

Looking to use that tree over there as cover, you see.

Snow to serpents... Atticus whispers, forcing the slushy stuff to obey his command - rivers of powdery snow swirling into snakes, which slither across the icy ground toward his, spitting snowballs...

[Fan]

"Oh no. Just stand still, and it'll be over in a few seconds."

Fan utters a few Eldtritch incantations in a myriad of languages long dead, and forgotten, and the Detect alignment spell goes off, whatever it reads is up to you.

Noah staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaares at Fan. "Er...... I'm sorry, I don't speak.... whatever it is you're.... yeah. Anyway, uhm..... you don't have a problem if I stick to my regular language, right?"

[Fan]

"That's odd, but you don't seem like a bad person, so you can come in... Just choose a lodge, and so long as it's not taken, everything should be fine."

He says this with a smile, knowing that very FEW people even in this verse spoke as many languages as a ex wizard vampire who believes himself to be 13000 years old.

Avatar peeks around from behind his cover.

And quickly ducks back into his little safety shelter as soon as he spots some abominable snow snakes coming his way. Spitting snowballs at him. "Oh come on! That isn't even remotely fair!" the young man objects rather sternly. "Y'know what? Fine. If that's the way you want to play-"

He reaches into his pocket and yanks out-!

His incense dish on a stick. Said dish ignites. Ethereal flames of sunset orange and electric blue and midnight indigo smolder in the pan, giving off scintillating prismatic smoke.

"-then bring it on!"

He leaps out from behind the tree and waves his staff in a wide circle, leaving a trail of glittering dream-essence in its wake. For a moment the iridescent ring just hangs in mid-air...

Then solidifies into a giant snow-boulder.

Avatar clobbers the backside of the boulder with his staff, sending it rolling toward the snow-snakes. As it travels it picks up more mass, growing ever larger. Unless they don't get out of the way in a hurry they're just going to be added to the projectile's bulk!

Noah goes off looking for a lodge. And a Lab. I certainly hope he does well.

So now, Helen the succubus is walking to here through the woods, using the directions she was told.

She still looks like a demon, hasn't shape-shifted out of that yet. Though she probably should.

As a result, she shapeshifts. Dark, central-american skin, straight black hair.

She walks towards the cabin.

People in GLoG might or might not notice that something seems to be moving underground towards the new base from the north.

Charity is just finishing repainting the sign.

The border around the words is a sort of stylized greenery motif, based on the most common plants in the area. But worked into the border are the words 'peace' and 'safety' and 'home' and other nice happy sounding things like that, which works with Charity's magic to encourage people in the area of the main lodge house feel, as may be expected, peaceful, safe, and at home. This is a suggestion rather than a compulsion, and can be resisted by anyone determined to feel otherwise.

"I guess I'll just work on cleaning for now," Charity says. "Wouldn't want to paint as long as their so much dust being raised."


And at some point, she finds herself working near Phoenix, because Charity is one of those weird extroverts who seems to need people around her. "Hi, I'm Charity. I can't remember if we've met."

Forgetful Charity must be forgetful, then? Unless she really can't see the resemblance past Phoenix's earlier illusion.

Why? Because he's going back to the Citadel! Where terrible things are totally not happening to Reinholdt, completely warping his view of the world and making him likely to attack Phoenix next time they meet! Totally!

Phoenix talked to Charity once. In the Taverna. And asked her to get rid of the Wormholdt illusion. And then they had a big fight, over whether Reinholdt was a mean nasty big bad evil kitty or not. I believe 'rape' was mentioned once or twice.

The underground rumbling is getting closer and closer, then it stops.

Then I guess their meeting here wouldn't be so friendly. But if Phoenix is leaving now, it isn't happening now, is it?

Confused player is... *is shot*

Khiansa waits at the spot where the rumbling stopped, spear in hand and ready to scream:
THIS! IS! EDEN!
At anyone crawling out of the presumed tunnel, before kicking them back in.
Or something like that.

Nothing can be heard from underground. The place where the rumbling stopped is quite far away from GLoG, on the hillside that can't be seen from the base.

Well... uh... Khiansa is there anyway. Because it triggered his alarm wards. Yeah. >.>

[Morty]

Well, whoever or whatever is down there is silent.

[Fan]

Fan, confused by the rumbling, but judging by the sound thinks he has PROBABLY handled bigger if it turned out to be dangerous, so he shrugs, and walks towards the tunnel to check it out at the very least.

Then he sees Khainsa already there, and waves casually to him as he walks closer saying.

"Hello there Khainsa. I see I wasn't the only one interested in what was causing the rumbling."

Khiansa will send a little magical tendril down there, which will burrow through until it hits air, then widen to roughly 1 meter in diameter, creating a nice little borehole from the surface to the presumed tunnel.
...
Man, he's going to feel stupid if it turns out to be a sandworm and eats his face.

[Morty]

The tendril reaches what looks like a tunnel that goes under the hill. He might also hear retreating footsteps, but they're very quiet.

Noah goes off looking for a lodge. And a Lab. I certainly hope he does well.

Noah finds a cabin much smaller than the others. Instead of bunks inside, it has tables and cupboards. And inside the cupboards are three microscopes, and some slides and petri dishes and eyedroppers and litmus paper.

Noah has found the Science Hut!

He also finds pencils, crayons, leatherworking tools, badly molded leather, and various other doodads. It appears the Science Hut doubles as the Arts and Crafts Hut.

Khiansa smiles nonchalantly at Fan.
"Hello Fan, I thought you were dead. I think what we have here is a common woodland creature known as Gobbus espionagidae. Nothing to worry about."
He nonchalantly summons a pair of Celestial Giant Centipedes and sends them down the tunnel after the fleeing burrower.

Both centipedes are shot at from four heavy crossbows as soon as go futher down the tunnel. Although Khiansa probably can't see that.

[Fan]

Khiansa smiles nonchalantly at Fan.
"Hello Fan, I thought you were dead. I think what we have here is a common woodland creature known as Goblinoidius espionagidae. Nothing to worry about."
He non-chalantly summons a pair of Celestial Giant Centipedes and sends them down the tunnel after the fleeing burrower.

"Medically I am, but that's semantics."

Being a elf, Fan has rather keen hearing, so he hears the tell tale "thwack", "Swoosh!", and "THUNK" of a crossbow firing, and impacting into it's target....

"Well.. I guess you were right about the goblins, I think they have longbows, or something else on them though... Maybe we should grab some torches, and check it out?"

Did I mention Fan hasn't had any significant casting ability for awhile, and has been working through his pleathora of magic items for utility?
