    I thought the candle themed character named Jack was a reference to the nursery rhyme, "Jack Be Nimble." Granted, I never watched Freakazoid! and had to look up the Candlejack reference, so I could be mistaken. Hell, maybe it's both.

    No he's not.

    His name is Jacques, not Jean. If he was named Jean, then the English form would be John, which would have indeed the diminutive form Jack. But he's Jacques, which is the same as Jacob, which in English is James.

    So he's Candle James or James O'Lantern.
