Re: Camelot WW 1 - The Sword in the Stone (Now Recruiting!)
Night 0 Ends
Sir Parum Tolero, Lord High Chamberlain and (in his own mind) future King of Britain, watched the motley remnants of “the highest nobles of the realm” stream in despondently from his vantage point atop the battlements of London.
Faces that had once sported proud and haughty grins now were colored in various shades of green, and many houses had been forced to send squires in place of masters who had passed away in a series of “unfortunate accidents”. Other houses, decimated by the inquisitive handling of Parum’s letter, had stooped even lower – Parum swore he could even see a monkey amongst the ranks of scullery boys and cooking maids who were attending place of their onetime masters.
Perhaps I should have made the poison a little less potent... Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk...
Striding towards a specially prepared balcony, the Chamberlain dislodged Lex, his pet cat, from its resting place and scooped it into his arms. Nimbly dodging the half-hearted scratch he received for his trouble, Parum cooed into his cat’s ears.
“Now just be a good kitty cat and stay still – Papa’s going to give a very important speech, and he can’t give a good villainous speech without stroking his favorite villainous cat, can he?”
Arriving at the balcony, Parum gave a little signal which set off a loud fanfare. Clearing his throat, he began his speech.
“Ahem.”
“Thank you for making the journey here today, and my condolences to the many of you who have recently suffered a loss in your family. But rest assured that what the Lord takes with one hand, he giveth with another – in a few days time you will all be richly rewarded for being present at my coronation.”
“All that I require is a simple formality. Wait out the few days left until the good king’s writ expires, then vote for me. I’m sure even the lowborn among you can understand such simple instructions.”
“There is, however, a catch. Through certain sources that shall remain unnamed, I have received word that my fears have come to pass – there are a few fools amongst you who are proposing a rival claimant to the throne.”
“Now if these traitors had proposed Sir Peckham in my place, or even Sir Bartlet, I might have had cause to be afraid. But in my stead they have proposed setting up a 16-year-old peasant boy by the unsavory name of Arthur. It’s almost insulting to have to sully my hands dealing with such small fry, but nonetheless all weeds must be uprooted, no matter how small they are.”
Drawing out a list of names from his cloak, Sir Parum chuckled.
“Just a friendly word of advice to all you would-be plotters – if you ever want to try and place yourself on the throne, do try to have more supporters than your father and brother. I mean, seriously, what kind of claimant doesn’t have at least a few washed out old knights supporting them? I could put up my cat for King and it’d attract more supporters than this “Arthur”.”
“But enough with the games. Sir Kay! Sir Ector! Step right out, I know who you are hid- eh?”
A robed figure burst from the crowd, cutting off the Chamberlain’s speech. Pointing a wizened finger at Sir Parum, he chanted a few words of arcane power.
-ZZAAAAAAAAAAPPPP-
Before the stunned eyes of the watching nobles, Sir Parum’s body began to shrink. Whiskers started to sprout from his nose and small vestigial claws wormed their way out of his fingertips. In a few moments, the transformation was complete – in the place of the Lord Chamberlain stood a small, very scared mouse.
MOWRRR
With a gleeful pounce, Lex leapt on the delectable morsel and swallowed it with a burp. Satiated, it curled up in a satisfied ball and went back to its rudely interrupted rest.
Cackling, the robed man clapped his hands together and vanished just as suddenly as he had appeared.
In his wake, a booming voice echoed across the courtyard.
“Traitors! You gathered here today, in spite of your liege’s wishes, to raise a knave to holy throne of England. Already we have foiled this plan.”
“Yet do not think you will go unpunished, for we are amongst you – we who support Arthur, the true King of England, for it is he, and none other, who may extract the Holy Blade from it’s granite sheath..”
“His coronation shall be heralded by the blood of those who would betray him, and trumpeted by the lamentations of those who would seek to cast him down.”
“I am Merlin, Master of the Arts Arcane. Arthurians! Let the slaughter begin!”
Lostlittlebear was killed. He was the Lord High Chamberlain.
Lex-kat has achieved her win condition and left the game. She was Lex the Kat.
Day 1 Begins

Re: Camelot WW 1 - The Sword in the Stone (Game on!)
A man stepped forward from the crowd, his clothing was that of a peasants. But the way he carried himself showed that at one point he had been more. He walked with the practiced grace of a swordsman one that had spent many hours learning the way of the sword, why he now wore peasants clothing was a story he would not tell....
Bertilak spoke out,
What madness is this? What kind of man has the ability to turn someone into a mouse simply by speaking a few words, Their is a foulness about, one that does not leave a good taste in my mouth..... Perhaps Zeb The wise old Troll may have some information regarding this man.I am alive!
It has been a very very long time.

"
Sanity702, you seem to have given this some thought".
A man in a full suit of armor, a greatsword at his side, and a helmet over his face. "My name is Sir Kyrias of Cornwall. I demand that the ones responsible for this breach of chivalry step forward now to face the wrath of my blade!"

"Grumble grumble grumble.... what's all this about trying to get the throne. We got enough fighting as it is. I'm sick of everyone trying to be king." she mutters in the crowd looking at Kroy and Sanity702.

The fox sniffed the street suspiciously. He was causing quite a bit of uproar. In fact, one mother was heard to say, "I bet you Murska put the fox here..."
