A few meters away is a girl who somebody might recognize as an illusionist, who is staring intently at him and smirking.

I guess he could run into Akiyama looking for a ball.

No, that's fine (assuming that by 'go to' you mean 'enter' rather than 'attend'). I was just pointing it out to show that he was too old to be mistaken for a student. Akiyama reacted as if he was a trespassing teenager who might be from a rival school, when in fact he's a fully grown adult.

The average for students is about 13 to 15. Adults are welcome in the game too, of course; It's just that they wouldn't still be attending school unless they were teachers.

Esper Ability: Portal
Able to create portals in 3D space that connect to other portals. Size and number correspond to how far away they are from his AIM field. Cannot materialize portals within solid matter.

Additional Uses:
Often uses the portals to access his hyperspace arsenal. He can also redirect attacks (say a fireball was thrown at him) by making them pass through his portals and reappearing somewhere else.

Physical Traits:
Pragmatic fighter – mostly a user of improvised weapons. Also does Tai chi in the park most mornings. Yes, with the old people.
Strength - more than average. Lacks stamina.

Mental Traits:
Smart - he can sleep in class and get an A on the test.
Awareness - always seems to know what’s going on. He eavesdrops with small portals.

Notable Equipment:
Cell phone - what all teenagers have nowadays.

Funny thing, I was actually thinking of making a portal character myself, but I kept getting stuck on the "what happens when you make a portal inside an object" issue...ah well.

1) If more than 1 portal exists and an object moves through a portal, which portal will it exit? Can Daichi determine which portal the object will exit through?

2) How long can he maintain portals?

3) What happens if a relatively long object is in the middle of exiting a portal when a portal collapses?

4) Can he make portals within sufficiently large bodies of liquids? What happens if he does?

...cory doctorow is a legendary blogger that once blogged as he travel around the world ON A HOT AIR BALOON and totally would be one of the bloggers who would be turned into a heroic fictional blogger character in the far future as with robin hood and jesse james with thievery.

Anyway, that site is fun, but not really accurate, since I remember reading that it only see the words you see and match it with author's favourite words or something. And something about, uh, number of words and punctuation in a sentence? I forgot

Still fun though. And I distinctly remember that the creator said that he'll use all the info he got to make it better.
