And we're updated!
A question about this: as I'll be taking over the kitchen for the baking, exactly how sensitive are you to nuts?
Would it be best to prepare food with nuts on a separate counter to the nutless?
And should equipment be thoroughly washed before bringing it to the nutless stuff?
Actually I'll be doing this anyway because a little paranoia's better than hurting someone accidentally.
Can do.
I'm guessing it'll iust be adding mint essence yes?
Things Koorly Will Be Baking
Chocolate chip cookies (about fifty hopefully)
Brownies - plain, milk, mint choc chip and possibly white
I may make some muffins. They may be cat-muffins.
They may be offered the Iibar first so we may take pictures of the Cat-Muffin eating a cat-muffin.
These pictures must then be posted.
Anything else to suggest? I can't guarantee making everything, or to the quantities I'm aiming for, but I will be doing the best I can.
But cookies and brownies are a definite.
@Irbis: Put you in under Definite. Do you have any special dietary requirements we need to know about?
Or anything to suggest/request as far as baking goes? The t-shirt was agreed on round about pg. 9 - 11. There's a design somewhere too.
I could feasibly attempt a Polish dish if you were to provide me with a link to a recipe. This goes for you too Ku. But with Swedish things.
Or whatever.
I have a kitchen, and a week (hopefully) of free time.
I am not afraid to use them.Last edited by CurlyKitGirl; 2010-11-07 at 04:04 PM.

I now have a blog. Have a look if you wish. It contains those naughty profanities that you won't find here. If you like what you read send me a PM, or if you don't like it. I'd like to know how many people here read it.

Re: UKitP meet VII "X-mas/Winter" Sheffield 04/12/10 *UPDATE 07/10/10*
Iust checked the kitchen. We have shallow cupcake baking trays, so I can confirm the existence of muffins.
Heh, I'm going to rope in as many of my uni friends as possible for this.
Chances are if I can do the muffins I'll do white choc chip and raspberry ones as well. BEcause I adore them.
Can't guarantee how many I'll be able to make though.
Time to start 'sperimenting.
Bake!
Because I've had some Millie's Cookies cookies, and they are delicious, so yours will be too.
And so I don't feel alone hefting several tonnes of baked goodies along to the meetup.
At this rate we should take a photograph of all our baking at the meetup to prove how much we can demolish.
And we shall name this meetup: The One In Which There Was Loads of Baking. And It Was Good.

But then we'd have to kill Eldpollard too, and multiple murders tend to get noticed.

Re: UKitP meet VII "X-mas/Winter" Sheffield 04/12/10 *UPDATE 07/10/10*
We can't start murdering for puns in the playground can we? I mean for a start it would be cruel and unusual PUNishment. Plus we'd probably have to knock off half the playground. Not to mention all of the comic titles, I mean the most recent one is "Brought to you by Macey's"

All of them?
You don't already have tupperware? What kind of student are you?
That, said, sure, fair enough, particularly since it's such a small amount of money each.
My two friends like it quite a bit.
Also, speaking from experience, the play-time definitely reduces as th players become more accustomed to the rules. So if at least some of the players have played it before, it should take less time.
Should this happen, there must be alternative options, as I can't stand mint.
Not sure about room, but should it be necessary, I can bring down my sleeping bag and lend it to you.
On a similar note, this post of mine:
has also gone largely unanswered.

Re: UKitP meet VII "X-mas/Winter" Sheffield 04/12/10 *UPDATE 07/10/10*
I'm not extraordinarily sensitive to nuts - a slight trace probably wouldn't do me any serious harm. The precautions you've outlined should be more than enough. I didn't expressly confirm before that I'm happy to chip in for the cookies... aaaargh! (Sorry, just got murdered for the pun). My preferences are for dark chocolate and/or mint, but I'm happy to wolf down whatever's going.
Castaras says ditto - knowing the way biscuits disappear in this house (we've apparently got very sophisticated mice who can break into a sealed cupboard and open the box inside - my suspicion is that our "mice" are two-legged) (were-mice?) I suspect your baking won't stand a chance...Last edited by Lensman; 2010-11-08 at 03:37 AM.

Re: UKitP meet VII "X-mas/Winter" Sheffield 04/12/10 *UPDATE 07/10/10*
I'm starting to get annoyed with being in Bradford - If I stay until the end of the Meet-up, I won't get back to Bradford until 8:23 in the morning...
And I'll probably be there at around 11am...
EDIT: wait, ignore this post, just seen that it ends at 9, not 10...

T-shirts and other notes
I've got a quote for T-shirts.
They will be £8 each. If you've given me a size I'll assume you're happy paying that.
If you want a T-shirt, let me know soon. NOVEMBER 18TH at the latest. Also, size is useful. If you aren't comfortable posting that on a public forum, feel free to PM it to me.
The back will have the list of people coming as of 18th November, but only those who put down "definite."
So far these people want one:
KuReshtin (XXXL)
GlrumptheElder (M)
CrownofThorns (M)
CurlyKitGirl (L)
Archonic Energy (XL)
Vampiric (L)
Kobald-Bard (L)
Fifty-Eyed Fred (XXL)
EldPollard (L)
Have expressed interest:
Lensman (L? - medium might be tight around the shoulders)
Cassie (M? - guesswork on my part)

Re: UKitP meet VII "X-mas/Winter" Sheffield 04/12/10 *UPDATE 07/10/10*
Will have to get back to you on the T-shirt, due to being catastrophically indecisive rather than anything being wrong with the shirt or concept.
It seems that if I travel by rail early in the morning and return the same night I can get to and from Sheffield for a decent price, though it would be a bloody long day. Pretty much firms up my attendance though, especially if I can fund the trip through selling my old Warmachine stuff.
I'm also up for running a one-off roleplay for some of you wonderful people, if anyone is wonderful enough to be interested. Will need to know soon though as I need a big kick up the backside now so that I'll actually have something ready for the day, I know what I'm like.
I can do World of Darkness or one of its offshoots, Call of Cthulhu, Deadlands, Dread, or something completely of my own devising. D&D 3.5 is a possibility too, though I've grown tired of it as of late. But as I say, I need to be hit with something heavy now to ensure I'll get something done, so speak now or forever hold your peace.

2XL shirt for me (though actually, at my current level of weight loss I might be able to get into an XL by the time of the meetup).
And Thufir, I am most interested in plans of the meeting up variety. I'm staying two nights, after all.

Re: UKitP meet VII "X-mas/Winter" Sheffield 04/12/10 *UPDATE 07/10/10*
Oh that's good to know. I've got enough space to do that. Shame about that pun though. Yolk's on you.
Hehe, everyone likes a good biscuit, even were-mice.
Things Koorly Will Be Cooking
Sweet
Milk chocolate chip cookies
Dark choc chip cookies
White choc chip cookies?????
Plain choc brownies
Milk choc brownies
Mint choc chip brownies
White/Dark choc chip brownies (perhaps)
Milk choc chip Cat-Muffins
White choc and raspberry Cat-Muffins
Savoury
Blinies
Laniwe
The Savoury section is pending experimenting with cooking them and whether they'll be okay to transport on a train.
Huh.
I'm going to need some big boxes. And a slave to carry things.
Notice: all the cookies, Cat-Muffins and all the brownies so far are currently nut-free. As should the savoury stuff.
I might try my hand at some walnut chocolate brownies. These will be in a separate box and clearly labelled.
Obviously I can't make forty plus of everything simply for space reasons, so please, fight amongst yourself for the goodies.
@Spanner: is it okay if I blag some storage space for all my cooking?
