Re: New Moderators and Updated Forum Rules
Congratulations to the new moderators! (Especially to Zeb, partly because you were really nice to me in real life, and partly because "Grandpa in the Playground" is adorable. )
And thank you to all the moderators for making this forum such a nice place to be!

Re: New Moderators and Updated Forum Rules
OOtS, in particular, has a very large community and very large turnover rate.
I'm honestly happy that I recognize everyone.
I'm further happy to see Mod posts that don't include red text. Calm down with the worship guys. Maybe we can go back to talking about mods in a manner other than "ZOMG Roland's banhammer! Don't speak of him as tho he's a normal human, you'll incur his wrath on us all!"
I'm proud to say I know exactly who Mark Hall is, and even tho I never would have thought to pick him, I must say I read that and thought "Huh? Yes. Yes, good decision."
Also, and finally, where is the appropriate place to ask for clarifications of the new rules? Here, or in another thread?I am continuing to have a social life. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: New Moderators and Updated Forum Rules
The rules were tweaked and streamlined. Although I don't remember enough of the specific details, I think the flaming/trolling rules had their severity markers dropped and got rolled into a single infraction type. I'm sure there's other things, but I'm not an authority on the subject.
There's no colossal shakeup going on, and everything seems to have remained in the spirit of what it had been before. You're unlikely as a poster to notice a difference in your day-to-day life.
While I'm here, a congratulations to all of our new mods, and a small note about how creepy it is that I know so many of you so well (or if not particularly well, we've at least had extended dealings in the past).
And also a very fond farewell to our departing staff. It's been ages since I've seen any of you around, but you did a wonderful job back in the day, and I hope you've all moved on to wonderful new things.
No. It's not an applied-for position; it's something the staff will fill if they see a need for a new position and know/believe you to be appropriate for the job.Last edited by PhoeKun; 2010-08-22 at 02:23 PM.

Re: New Moderators and Updated Forum Rules
Congratulations from the residential artistic reptile to the new moderators, may their rightful justice shine bright and pave the road to glory!
And a heartfelt goodbye to the retiring mods, I never knew you and yet I wish you great fun in retiring and cheers for having paved the road before
I would write a long and detailed post about how much this both saddens me and bring me great joy but you already know that so I'll just end with a few words I want to say.
And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!Treasured Quotes

If you need me somewhere, don't hesitate to PM me. I have bad mental health days sometimes, so if I vanish that's probably why. PMs will help break me out of that.
