Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
Oh wow, this is going to be a toughie. Looking around it seems like nobodies sure of anything, and all the confusion is making it hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Honestly Internet Flea's vote changing today makes me very, very suspicious, but I feel like he's telling the truth, and the baner did decide to protect him last night.I'm going to have to vote for Gray Mage. I hope I don't regret this.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 6's End!
Day 6 Ends!
Arguements broke out of whom to kill, with accusations flying all around. Finally, though, after two men were pointed at by equal numbers, the final person cast his point. And the target paled... Gray Mage.
He was led to the gallows, slowly... and as he took the first step onto the structure, the ground shook.
The gallows collapsed into a hole that formed beneath it, growing flames burning it as it fell.
And a man pushed Gray Mage in.
With a burst of flame, the hole closed... and a few items waited where it used to be.
Gray Mage was lynched after a tiebreaker that narrowly avoided lynching TheLaughingMan. He was the Corrupt Queen!
Gray Mage had two Crystal Balls and an Assassin's Dagger! They will be passed to random lynchers.
Night 6 Begins!

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
Well, now we have the dagger.
Murska's the Explosive Fiend and Lex-Kat's an Infernal Servant. They're equally likely to have the dagger at the end of tonight.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Night 6's End!
Night 6 Ends!
The tables had turned. Clouds started floating away, and by morning, the sun was seen in a red sky.
Lex-kat sat at the edge of a building as the sun rose, worriedly looking at the sunrise. Victory had been so close, the other day... and then, the tiebreaker had ruined it.
So consumed with the events of the day, she didn't notice a scrying sensor in front of her face until someone else was right behind her.
Lex-kat was killed and scryed too late. She was an Infernal Servant.
Day 7 Begins!

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
Close enough, I'd say, considering all the horrible luck we had.
But yeah. I should've realized earlier that the Fool can scry two of our most important roles and thus is much more dangerous than the Seer this game. My fault for not reading the rules carefully. And I didn't realize until too late that items can't be moved if they've been used, either.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Game End!
And that's the end.
Day 7 Ends!
At long last, the crowd had finally caught the last of the monarchy.
"Rotten luck...," he says. "I should have realized that the lunatic could actually see us, when a sane mind could not... But I will go on my terms, not yours."
He takes out an Assassin's Dagger, and stabs himself with it.
To everyone's surprise, there is an explosion.
Murska was lynched. He was the Explosive Fiend!
He had a Dagger Hilt (destroyed dagger).
Internet Flea was killed in the explosion. He had three Crystal Shards and a Dagger Hilt. He was the Escaped Lunatic!
Game End!
The monarchy gone, and the assassins dead, construction on rebuilding the city begins. The remaining Stonemason contacts his people outside the city, ordering supplies for the task at hand. The Wandering Guardian, his work done in the city, leaves, searching for another innocent needing protection. The Fortuenteller, having given away his Crystal Ball the night before, manages to speak to travelers passing by the city ruins, and pursuade them to say and rebuild.
And Drifter, fully restored, was one of the first to return.
Meanwhile, in a city far away, another Assassin's Guild prepares it's next mission... and Devils far below speak of their next temptation... What happened in that city will happen again... and it may not be so close the next time...

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
1. Yes!
2. I liked the format, I didn't really have any idea of what was going on, so I don't have anything I would change.
3. As far as I can tell, it's balanced. Night 2 was pretty hectic and I'm sure the game would have been very different if two villagers had died instead.
4. The narrations were pretty cool. I do wonder why the assassins were so keen on killing that Drifter character, though.
5. No comments, but a question: How the heck did I die?

Re: City of Darkness WW: Game End!
Did you have fun?
Well, dying night 1 didn't really give me a chance, but I enjoyed following the game after that.
What would you like to see for the next game, if there is one?
Umm... Nothing extra I can think of, at least nothing a narrator has any control over. See under "died night 1."
Do you think the rules were balanced? The roles? The sides? Any re-workings with items?
Looked okay to me, but again I didn't really get a chance to find out. With so few players, I think it may have been slightly skewed towards the two wolf teams, not that it made a difference in the end (my death may have helped there, since I was targeted by both killers). With more players though, I think it would be fine.
How were the narrations and updates?
Very good.
Additional Comments?
Well done running your first gameWhat do you mean "Dungeon Master" isn't a proper job?

Did you have fun?
Yep. Nice job, you filthy bard.
What would you like to see for the next game, if there is one?
Call of Cthulu, because I can't think of anything right now.
Do you think the rules were balanced? The roles? The sides? Any re-workings with items?
Seemed fine to me.
How were the narrations and updates?
You mocked me simply by updating on time. You win this round.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
Questionare:
Did you have fun? Yep, though I really didn't expect to die night 2, what with Lex being an Infernal Servant and all. Thought she'd want me alive longer, heh.
What would you like to see for the next game, if there is one? *shrugs*
Do you think the rules were balanced? The roles? The sides? Any re-workings with items? Seemed alright to me. I've always considered games with two wolf sides to be harder on the wolves, but maybe that's cause I've always lost...
How were the narrations and updates? No complaints here
Additional Comments? I wish I'd of lived. Fairly certain I could have kept myself alive when I got called out for breaking the tie. And I probably could have kept the team alive a bit longer had I lived, since most were new-ish.

I'd say allow item passing during cooldown, since I think everyone thought that's how it worked. Plus announcing the Corrupt King had the dagger defeated the purpose of them dying as a villager.
How were the narrations and updates?
Additional Comments?
I figured the Assassins scried Murska and killed Zar Peter, and I was hoping you'd help the village find the Serpent's Head, which it turned out was unnecessary. Plus TheLaughingMan sounded really suspicious; he said he got scry interference night one when no one else did.
EDIT: Oh yeah; it sounds like the wolves scried me as Fool instead of Seer/Fool, which is a pretty big advantage for them I think.
EDIT EDIT: Oh yeah; the Fool not scrying the Seer as Fool may or may not be made up by finding the disguised roles.Last edited by Internet Flea; 2010-10-04 at 06:52 PM.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
Did you have fun? Yep!
What would you like to see for the next game, if there is one? I think the plotting was a cool idea but was underused. I don't really know how you'd make it more useful but that would definitely be something I'd like to see.
Do you think the rules were balanced? The roles? The sides? Any re-workings with items? As Flea said, the assassins were not as strong as the other sides and the dagger being announced when the Corrupt King died was pointless.
How were the narrations and updates?
I really like the constant "noon" updates. Those were really helpful.
Additional Comments?
Did I ever successfully protect a member of Team Good? I don't think I did. Oh well, tell me when the next game starts! And are you still giving out titles?
EDIT: I just noticed this game is also the first game I've ever survived till the end!Last edited by Tydude; 2010-10-04 at 07:04 PM.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
I think the monarchy has more guys because there's the risk of the king killing one of them. We were lucky to find Murska on day one, or I'd probably have suggested Lex for the second NK instead of Aemoh.
Yeah, I scried you as the fool, not seer/fool.

Thinking about it, I'd like to see the assassins start with a Trap item; it would either kill the performer of an action, or possibly expose their role to the town. That should help to even out the wolf factions; they both would have to fear nightkilling the other group's members.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
Questionare
Did you have fun? Yes, except when that evil Logarr came and killed Gray Mage. That wasn't very nice of him.
What would you like to see for the next game, if there is one? More pixies.
Do you think the rules were balanced? The roles? The sides? Any re-workings with items? Seemed okay to me. But then, I wasn't with the Assassins.
How were the narrations and updates? You did a great job.
At least you didn't get bored with the game or something and leave the players hanging waiting for an update, that you say you'll write in a few hours or the next day.
Additional Comments? Who killed Aemoh? How am I supposed to follow his lead, if you kill him Night 2?
Sorry Aemoh. I didn't even know you were dead until Night 3, when I wondered why you hadn't voted during the day.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
Had fun enjoyed it.... Though it felt like it was a tad one sided with what seemed like an assassin dying EVERY phase... It sucked
and yea night 2 sucked cause we both targeted the same person. Then I missed a night due to a test so I was a horrible Serpants head...I am alive!
It has been a very very long time.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Game End!
Bwhaha! Yes! Take that, Flea!
Questionare:
Did you have fun?
Oh yes, it was very amusing to see that my logic for pointing at Murska was actually validated in the end.
What would you like to see for the next game, if there is one?
I don't know, the game went by too quick to really see most of it in action.
Do you think the rules were balanced? The roles? The sides? Any re-workings with items?
The Assassins felt real bland, especially next to the Monarchy. Maybe instead of items have some kind of seniority order for the Assassins next game, with Serpent Head and Fallen Crown each having a one-night kill/scry, and if either dies the next top Assassin takes over the Killer/Seer role, but with an extra +1 day of cooldown. Or just give them some unique role.
How were the narrations and updates?
Aside from the fact that it seemed our entire Guild died trying to kill Drifter, I think they were good.
Additional Comments?
I totally could have gotten someone else lynched in my stead if Aemoh did not bite it at the worst possible time for our entire side.Last edited by Ghanz Nmi; 2010-10-04 at 09:15 PM.

Re: City of Darkness WW: Titles
The time has come for the rewards... Titles!
First off, we have someone who signed up, but didn't post after that, resulting in her being lynched day one without a defense. The Title of Absent Lynch Victim goes to... InaVegt!
Now, for the person who was killed night one by BOTH of the 'wolf' teams, for no reason other than being random kill, Killed Night 1 goes to... Tasroth!
For the Escaped Lunatic, who, despite not having much useful power, pierced the disguise of the Corrupt King and rallied the city, Not So Foolish goes to... Internet Flea!
But wait! Seems like Corrupt King had manged to kill someone before being lynched, and that kill was hidden so cleverly, that it was days before the body of their victim was found. The Title Expert Assassin goes to... Cute and Evil! I hope that you do well as an Assassin in Llama Llama Duck in 6 month's time!
And now for the poor person on the recieving end of her attack. He was killed night three, but his body was hidden, preventing his death from being revealed until a later time. I feel that he wished to post, but his secret death prevented it. The title of I'm Dead?!? goes to... Duneyrr!
For the man who tried his best to protect his teammates, but was blind as a bat in the begining, making him protect the wrong people until he managed to get information. For baning the wrong people, Protecting the Guilty goes to... Tydude!
For the one on who the entire game hung on the balance, who prevented a win for the Monarchy after the Seer was nearly put to death, and broke the tie in favor of the villagers... You Chose... Wisely goes to... Logarr!
Now for a shared title. This title goes to the two people that managed to get their hands on three or more items during the course of the game. These two recive the title Item Hog , and it goes to... Gray Mage and Internet Flea!
Those that survived were few in number but had made key decisions in the game that brought their side to victory in the end, I Survived the City of the Drifter! goes to... TheLaughingMan, Tydude, and Logarr!
Among those three, though, there is one that deserves three more unique titles. Rival of the Narriator for making a quick half-attempt to lynch me at the begining of the game, Confused Seer for attempting to lynch two people who weren't even in the game after an (apparently) bad night, and Generous Giver for being the only person to willingly give his starting item away to someone else... TheLaughingMan!
One of our players, though has a reputation on him in Werewolf Games. He even has a Constant named after him. So, I wasn't surprised when I randomized roles and found him to be on one of the 'evil' teams; what surprised me was that he was the Explosive Fiend. For being the last lynched, he gets the Explosive Finish, and for being on the team that was the 'evil' team he also recieves Cursed Constant. Let's give it up for... Murska!
For the person who located his entire team the first night, preventing his partner from killing any of them, and especially preventing them from getting a bad title, Gather Your Fiends goes to... Gray Mage!
For the Assassin's Guild, whom for some reason, kept attacking Drifter, possibly because of his songs. These four people were Outnumbered and Overwhelmed, yet they kept fighting To the Death!. For fighting hard to their end... Aemoh, DarkCorax, Ghanz Nmi, and Sanity702! All four of them recieve Actual Assassin, as well, for being in the Assassin Guild.
Now for the Monarchy. Despite having the power roles in the hands of two newcomers, they were Effective, eliminating villagers and Assassins alike. Their biggest problem, though came from a tiebreaker that turned the game around. Small Names, Great Power, goes to Grey Mage and Cute and Evil! And Newcomer Trainers goes to... Murska, Lex-kat, and Zar Peter! All five of them get the Fallen Ruling Class title as well, for being the Monarchy.
Now for a title that goes to a few people. These people attempted to kill Drifter sometime in the game, whether by choice, or by being forced to in the narriations. These three recieve KILL THE NARRIATOR!... TheLaughingMan, Ghanz Nmi, and Sanity702!
And for the villagers. These people had to deal with the theat of two night kills each night, but they pulled through in the end, despite the fact that many of them were not villagers. These Victorious Villagers are billtodamax, cd4, Duneyrr, InaVegt, Internet Flea, Logarr, Tasroth, TheLaughingMan, and Tydude!
Congratulations!
A special title of Supa-Narriator for Supagoof, for while he didn't contribute much other than the clarification of plotting in the game and the such, he did have a large impact behind the scenes, helping me get organized to assign roles and watch the game unfold, as well as for emotional support if needed.
Thank you all for playing!

Re: City of Darkness WW: Day 4
I got an award.
Also, wasn't Aemoh on the assassin's side? And Zar Peter on the monarchy?
