Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Could this Big Mam be
SpoilerLola's mother? The lips in the flag kind of remind me of it and Nami could be with her.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Big Mom being Lola's mother has been a theory before we even knew her name (just going from how Lola's crew talk about her massively powerful mother in the New World, her being an Emperor seemed likely), and only looks more and more probable since then.
But yeah, not sure if she actually is anywhere near Fishman Island. You are a Rose, You are a blade

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
So... not that much new. Well, Neptune showed up and I guess we know what the next arc will be about but apart from that... Well, we got to know the new Strawhat fodder (as if they were any more than that)

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Seems to me that this arc is getting stretched out too much. Now that doesn't mean I want it to end immediately, I just dislike how scattered the story feels. I like the island and I certainly wouldn't mind staying here but please keep a pace. Yes it's fishmen isle and yes it's been anticipated for years but don't make every little thing take so much time just to keep us here. Example: the ally confusion at the beginning seems to be there only to put off Luffy hearing what Jinbei has to say.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Is getting stretched out? it has been stretched out, but is just starting to pick up. It has had a few dead chapters though.

Cleric: "I can kill someone in half a turn."
Wizard: "I can kill someone before my turn."

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
I think maybe the reason things feel so slow right now is that we're coming down from a big action-packed arc that was the Impel Down/Whitebeard arc. There was a ton of fast-paced, exciting action there and something awesome happening every chapter. Right now we're taking a bit of a breather and setting up for the new adventures to start, which means things don't seem as quick or exciting as before.
Still good, but it'll get more enjoyable once the breather slips back into action, I'd imagine.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
I didn't use to, but I started some years ago when I found it made it more enjoyable.
Of course, then I'd go and watch the anime and the voices in my head don't really match the ones on the screen, and then it all gets creepy. For example: I always imagined that Chopper would change his voice when he changed forms... then I watch the anime and the big hulking gorilla Chopper has this little kids voice. It was just weirding me out.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
I take back whatever I said, OP is picking up again, yay ^^
So, the fodder guy's (I can't remember his name atm) power is swamp and he likes to be in a hentai instead of in OP. Well... I can see the doujinshi coming...
All the Strawhats are fine, Neptune is a bit off, and even though the last joke could be seen coming a page earlier it's still kind of funny. Well, I'm fine with the new chapter.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Slightly off topic, but there is a One Piece game going on using the Mecha and Manga sourcebook for Mutants and Masterminds. If anyone is interested.

Well, guess I'd be kinda interested but no knowledge of the rules whatsoever, so... ^^'
Also, giant mermaid might be hot but... hell, what yre you going to do with her?! Okay, a few things but most of the awesome stuff is... impossible. Okay, getting off-topic here *cough*

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
^ Not if you have Luffy's powers. Remember, anything stretches. And he's shown ability to make parts of him extra-large in the past...

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Even removing the size issues, there's still the Mermaid Problem in the first place.
Still, it might be interesting if they explore having a crybaby of that size near a fruit-user. If someone who's eaten a devil fruit is paralyzed in salt water, shouldn't tears that big be capable of stunning one for a while?

I meant it jokingly, but he does do the "stretch and wrap" or "stretch and flex" to "grab" items...

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Word of God has it that he can. Apparently Luffy's bones can shift between states, converting back and forth as Luffy requires. The only real difference between Luffy and Reed Richards is that Luffy can't just stretch as he wills, he needs to put some momentum into it first. (So whereas Richards could just reach up to that top shelf, Luffy would need to wind up as if throwing a softball or punch).

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
right, but both, with some effort could do something like squeeze under the crack of a standard door if need be.
