"MORE POWER!" Val declares, although thankfully she leaves out the Tim Taylor grunting afterwards.

"Hahaha!" Tobias laughs at her, even though he doesn't entirely catch the joke. He still finds her enthusiasm charming.

"Mmm...Val, you know there's one other position that needs to be filled. Every ship needs a first mate and, well, considering how I owe this opportunity to you...I'd like to offer you that position."

Chris notices this young woman and notes her with interest. Especially the arsenal of weapons she has.

Chris is presently in a t-shirt and tattered jeans, with a dark-blue backpack slung on him and a sword by his side. One of his arms has a bandage wrapped around it, and his hands have fingerless gloves on them.

And marvelous sideburns. Can't forget those.

At the bar, there is a man with a beard and a slightly red nose polishing a glass. He nods to her, and delivers to her a frothy mug of apple juice beer.

He clears his throat.

Crissy smiles. "So, what have you been up to?" she asks Kevin with a smile.

"To be quite honest, Val, I can't think of anyone more deserving of the post. You're the only person I know with enough flight experience to do it properly, and...well, I trust you."

Well, it kind of sounds like little bip noises, but for some reason she can tell exactly what it is he's saying.

And where I come from, when a man insists on giving his full title, and then kisses a woman's hand, it usually means that he is trying to impress. And if you wish to insult my manners, Andy, I suggest you work on your own. Saying that you may hate a lady when she can hear, what kind of manners are those?

Throughout this, Len keeps his tone level and his expression blank, though a slight smile touches his lips at the last sentence.

Andy seems a bit annoyed.

"OK lets cool down. I think we both have different views on the meanings of manners. Lets say we are even for now and try to learn from each other ok?"

He is offering his hand again.

"Hi I am Andy. With whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?"

Hmm...I have been meaning to introduce someone to Trog's though...))

A man of scholarly repute walks into Trog's Tavern. Underneath his right arm he holds a worn hardcover book. On his face he wears a pair of reading glasses. He looks like he has had a hard day, and quite a bit of the weight of the world on his shoulders.

This is Davidson. Matthew Davidson. He recently became a teacher at PACK, but so far he hasn't really taught them anything. Well, nothing traditionally within academic realms, anyway.

Taking a seat at a table, setting his book down, he raises his finger and orders himself a cup of coffee.

"Sure thing, Mister Davidson."

"Ah, actually it's Doctor now, Paige."

"Oh? Finally finished that degree, did you? Are you going to write about all those places you've been to?"

"Heh...no Paige. I'm still going to be a teacher. I have a job, in fact. At PACK."

"Oh! Good for you, Matt! Following your dream like that."

"How about you, Paige? How's PC College going?"

"Mmm...not that great. I think I'm going to be stuck in NPC status forever."

"Ah, well don't give up. You've got the right sort of character for a PC. I'm sure you'll graduate soon enough."

"Hehehe...thanks, Matt. Hey, I've got to finish up my shift, but maybe later we could catch up on old times?"

"Sure Paige, I'd like that."

Ahh, I should explain this. You see, this isn't Davidson's first visit to Trog's. In fact, it's only his first visit as a Player Character. He's been here numerous times, in the background, usually reading a book and drinking coffee just like he is now. You've never really noticed him before because he was always an NPC.

He and Paige go a way back, actually. They attended the same college for awhile, where she encouraged Davidson to go see the world. He's been abroad for awhile, but recently came back and caught up with Paige for a bit.

She's just a little jealous of him becoming a PC, but she doesn't hold it against him. And he encourages her to continue to pursue her dreams of becoming a Player Character.

"Depends what character I am at the moment." she explained. "At the moment, I use sand as a weapon. And a defense. And pretty much everything... I might change to a different me soon."

Then nods, managing to regain her composure. After all, she is an Air Force Officer.

She smiles happily, and reaches over to give Captain Tobias' hand a squeeze.

Sitting on a table is a small, rodent-like creature. It has grey fur, a long tail and is about the right shape to be a rodent, but something seems... Off, about it. It is sniffing the air and sitting on its haunches at the moment.
