The ermine lifts the hat's rim up once more, eyes curious.

It then looks around for someone to bet with.

Chris briefly undeadtimes, looking at the talking ermine with great interest.

Len tosses four platinum coins at the ermine.

I'll put those on myself losing under those conditions.

With that, Len faints.

The ermine takes off its hat to neatly catch all seven coins. They disappear.

"Taken, maties. I'm gunna go wit' me in da first round after ye put yer hands in da air."

The ermine now pulls a shotgun out of the hat and points it at Riv with one hand. And grins.


Chris gets a confused glare.

Riv turns to the ermine. First off, pay up. And second, are you a eldritch abomination?

The projection on the ground fades. Len stands behind the ermine, with a knife to it's throat.

Can I change my bet?

Chris's eyes widen at the shotgun act. "Easy there..."

"I was making a Negima reference. Nevermind. I'll just slip back into deadtime and you guys can settle this amongst yourselves." He promptly does so.

Emily blinked, staring at the fainted man.
"Uh. Okay." she said, baffled.

Riv, confuesd by ninja posting and mysteriously fainting opponents, does the only thing he can. He punches Chris. And then is slammed into a wall by the shotgun blast. Bullet proof duster/lab-coat. Always works. He says, rising to his feet unharmed.

The ermine drops its hat to the table, but doesn't aim its shotgun away from Riv. In a flash of movement, the ermine holds a bejeweled dagger in its foot, jabbing it against Len's stomach. Not enough to draw blood, but it'll be a poke.

"Nay. Ain't nothin' else commin' out of da hat if ye scrag me neither."

((The ermine didn't fire the shotgun. Just pointed it.))

The small rodent-thing with eyes the same colour as Len's (what colour are his eyes, now?) watches. It's hard to say if it's bored or confused. Or something else entirely.

(Yes, but Riv is a hammy actor and thought you did fire, so he overacted getting hit by a shotgun.)

Riv picks the dart of the floor and aims it at the ermine. Iw ould like to point out that this is a stun dart, and therefore in no way offensive. He says, then throws it at the ermine.

The ermine gives Riv a blank look as it literally shoots the dart out of the air with the shotgun.

"... Wha? I did'na even shoot ye, and you're claiming a thrown dart ain't offensive? Me'thinks you're batty, mate."

"Can't we all calm down before I have to boil someone's blood?" said Emily, exasperated, before deadtiming.

The dart falls to the floor with a clatter, completely unharmed. The proper term is mad. Riv says, as the dart floats off the floor and shoot at the ermine again.

Alright then, If I can't change my bet...

Len hits himself hard enough with the flat of his sword to knock himself out for about a minute.

The ermine blinks and dives into its hat. Once the dart should've passed, the ermine leaps out of the extra-dimensional storage headware.

"Mad, batty, same thing. And dis one seems to be batty as well."

The ermine gestures at Len.

"May'haps dis wasn't tha best place te go on vacation to."

The dart doesn't pass, instead it circles around the hat.

Then the ermine comes out of the hat with a scimitar to parry the dart away with. It will do this repeatedly and absent-mindedly while conversing. Yar.

A projection rises out of Len's unconscious body.

So, what did I miss?

The rodent-thing with icy blue eyes sees Len, comatose. It will jump off its table and scurry across the floor. When it reaches him, it will attempt to bite him, possibly waking him up, possibly drawing blood again.

The dart is easily deflected, but just keeps coming back, although it's easy enough to hold at bay. So, are you an eldritch abomination? Riv asks.

(Biting shouldn't be possible, because of Emily's no harming thing)

The projection kicks at the rodent thing.

"Eldritch abomination? Ye daft? I'm a bloody ermine. Ain't ye ever seen one before?"

The ermine continues parrying the dart, not even glancing at it.

Davidson has been in Trog's during brawls before. As an NPC, he knows proper procedures to avoid damage.

He picks up his coffee and book, and very gingerly steps away from the source of the fight.

Then sets both down again,and begins reading anew.
