Re: Order of the group
Approaching the bar after hearing part of the tale, Kyruth speaks up.
"It sounds like someone dug into your vault from below and barred it shut so they could take their time emptying it. If it's been more than an hour, you've likely already been cleaned out by now."Quod tibi vis fieri, facias.Spoiler: Links to my content threadsAldhaven - May 27, 2010 and ongoing.

Re: Order of the group
Krak listens to the man, noting the sound of his voice and wondering about the odds of what the other had just said being true. Still, it was an interesting challenge. What kind of robber would do things that way? It certainly wasn't his style, and he was well suited to the underground.
"Well, we might as well take a look" he commented after a moment of thinking, "Couldn't hurt...much."

Re: Order of the group
sineed looked up at the bar keep speaking in common "though i have to ask you is the favor you give us one for every one or do we all as a group only get one?" he asked wanting to make sure that someone doesn't somehow ruin the question he wants to ask his eyes peering to make sure he doesn't try to twist any truth

Re: Order of the group
The bartender is thin with a small amount of stubble, worn out hands. Clearly he used to be a hard worker and he's trustworthy.

Re: Order of the group
Grott sat up, a greedy glint in his eye.
"I've only one question. This could be a pretty big job. There's got to be more than free beer in it for us. What have you got to offer in exchange?"

Re: Order of the group
"Well you're doing me one favor mage" stroking his chin the bits of hair growing longer with each stroke. "It seems only fair that I give you one thing" now he has a fully grown beard "I'll tell you what halfling the vault is set behind my collections" he tears the beard off setting it down it sprouts legs, a head and a tail and begins eating with the other rats (Rizban you'll notice that your bag seems one rat lighter) "and if what you say is true I may not have much left to give".
He shifts his foot and boards move aside behind the bar a set of stairs carved from stone can be faintly seen in the lighting. He snaps his hand and the door appears to open with a large group of burly viking warriors sitting down in front of the bar taking up most of the space. With another flick of his wrists a duplicate of himself emerges preparing fake drinks. "Follow me" he says heading down below.

Re: Order of the group
Shrugging heavily, Krumk touches the haft of his greataxe, then gets up to follow the bartender. Thief-catching was hardly the most glamorous of jobs, but Bahamut understood that his servants needed to pay bills too, and could not always do so from the reappropriated hoards of evil dragons.

Re: Order of the group
Krak nods at the conversation and preps his crossbow, getting ready to move in, "I'll do what I can" he promises, following a little way behind the others, taking the rear by a good bit buy clearly following.
"Just be careful. If they've planned this out far enough to burrow like this, anyone still left might have some plan to deal with intrusion." He checks the alignment of his weapon, and continues moving with them.

Re: Order of the group
As he descends the steps he pulls a lantern out of thin air already lit , he clips it onto a wire hanging above that goes down further. "Over the years I've been collecting little magical items" The lantern fully illuminates the room below "Such as a lantern of revealing which I figured would help".
The left wall is covered with shelves with boxes most behind glass "The glass is just for show touch it and you'll be sorry". On the other wall are weapons and a broom "I'm fortunate to have doubles of some items which if I don't finish the collection again I simply look cheap" at the end covering most of the wall is a adamantium door "So what is it that you need anyways? Keep in mind you'll have to pick something to share"

Re: Order of the group
Krak nodded and looked through the various items the man motioned to, nothing a few useful items. Share? That would certainly make things interesting. MInd you, he'd remembered a few times as a child where "Share" had meant "wait until they aren't looking" to him. Still, these guys were willing to lend a hand. Hmm...
Krak continued to ready his weapon, checking his bolts position, "I think we'll wait on that until we take care of this little mess" he commented in suggestion, eyeballing the door and positioning himself half-behind a barrel as he readied the crossbow.

Re: Order of the group
The barkeep pulls out his key and tries the door. After a few frustrated attempts he pulls it out. "Who needs keys right when brute force still exist"
(Either try to pick the lock or a strength check to rip it open.)

Re: Order of the group
"I'll give it a shot" Krak says, holstering his weapon onto his back and going to the door. He looks it over for a few moments before pulling out the tools of his trade, and getting to work. This was a good lock, and clearly blocked from the inside, but he'd seen worse. Krak began working with it for a few moments.(1d20+11)[13]

Re: Order of the group
You hear a click but the door won't budge.
(If you all try pulling off one task like pushing a boulder I usually add your scores together. So if you try to rip the door off together you have a better chance.)

Re: Order of the group
"well how long do you think we have before they get away good sir?" he asks the barkeep "i don't intend to throw out the favor for this but i am asking so that if their in there we might have a better shot if we prepared before the fight." he said to the barkeep looking at the lock after the small kobold had tried to pick it

Re: Order of the group
Krak shook his head "The Door is jammed. We're going to have to force it." He commented as he continued to look over the door. He shook his head again. It was a sturdy door, and he wasn't the strongest being. Indeed, he was far from an even average strength kobold. Still, he had to lend a hand.

Re: Order of the group
Grunting, Krumk sets his massive scaly shoulder to the door and gives it a yank - only to trip over the kobold and almost fall flat on his face.

Krak wasn't strong at all, but knew he should give it a go. He founda good spot, and began to attempt to force the door.

Re: Order of the group
Grott comes out of a reverie and sees the rest of the odd assortment of people pulling on the door. It would probably be a good idea to help them. Although his added strength probably wouldn't do much.

Re: Order of the group
A loud crack is heard as the door opens. Inside lay massive piles of gold leading up to the ceiling. Hanging from the walls are bags of holding across from the vault is a large hole that looks like it could hold an elephant. Laying in one of the piles is a man with flaming gloves dressed in a magenta shirt and grey pants with the loud crack his attention is now on you "Oh crap"
