Re: D&D Demotivators II: Return to Unnormal
Funny story....I started a thread on whether Genghis Khan was LN or LE. There was a fair deal of discussion, but it was eventually locked because 'politics'. So for the purposes of this site, you might want to slap an order of magnitude or two onto that number.
But I digress.

Re: D&D Demotivators II: Return to Unnormal
No, too grammatically and orthographically wrong. ^^

Re: D&D Demotivators II: Return to Unnormal
Well, "Krieg" is their planet. So, it's not that bad. A strange name, sure, but not too bad.
Currently, I'm pretty much happy if people don't misspell it as "Kreig".Last edited by Eldan; 2011-02-27 at 01:33 PM.

Re: D&D Demotivators II: Return to Unnormal
It's still a Death Korps. Corps is french and written wit C.
Todescrops des Kriegs would be more elegant.Last edited by Yora; 2011-02-27 at 01:34 PM.

Re: D&D Demotivators II: Return to Unnormal
Todeskorps des Krieges, actually.
But that would be "Death Corps of War". Here, it's a place name, so "Todeskorps von Krieg", or "Krieger Todeskorps" would be better.
Edit: I'm no expert here, but I'm reasonably sure I've seen Germans spell Korps with a K before.Last edited by Eldan; 2011-02-27 at 01:35 PM.

Re: D&D Demotivators II: Return to Unnormal
It's still a horible mangling of the German language.
It's not a beautiful language, but we like to keep it tidy.We are not standing on the shoulders of giants, but on very tall tower of other dwarves.

Re: D&D Demotivators II: Return to Unnormal
It's not that hard to remember if you know how it is pronounced. No one pronounces "ei" (eye) the same as "ie" (ee), after all.
German is a beautiful language. Confusing, difficult and horribly complex, but still beautiful. Especially when spoken by a beautiful woman.Last edited by The Rose Dragon; 2011-02-27 at 01:39 PM.

Wow. I never would have guessed a 40K poster would start a grammar argument...
