"Works for me," Jamie declares, drawing her wand and transforming!

Lisor falls on her but, feeling tired. When Shrike looks around, she asks, "Is something wrong?"

[Outside]

Demon Queen moves, and the energy skims the side of her leg. Her speed seems to be going up as her transformation goes further. She's now on all fours, and looking much more animal in appearance. Her skin looks like the leather of her jacket, her eyes are cat-like, her hands clawed, her back and arms seem to be growing in length.

She's watches him, growling slightly.

And then her ring flies in behind Zero, aiming for the base of his spine.

Not built very well!

Well now, there's a problem Valaira can fix when Zero is feeling better!

He chose the right girlfriend, the one who can mold biomass like it were something as simple as a lump of clay in the hands of a masterful artisan.

...

Maybe he, honestly, chose the wrong girlfriend. I mean, this one might have swallowed someone and is currently rubbing his or her blood all over his body.

Does that qualify as a healthy relationship?

Toby takes the other man out of the office and shows him a few, slightly smaller, empty offices nearby. Next up is a operating theater/autopsy room. Connected to that is a refrigerated room with those sliding racks for cadavers that you see in morgues. There is a normal lab filled with fancy equipment for all sorts of medical tests right across the hallway. Next Toby leads him through an airlock, which has protective suits and a decontamination shower, and into a hot lab.
You'll love this room. It has a Biosafety level of 5, which is like a 4, but it has all sorts of magical wards and security measures to deal with magical diseases. You probably worked with a lot of the equipment here before, so you might be more familiar with it than I am. But you can do all the studying and work you want with infectious diseases there. We even have a secure locker in back, I'm the only one with access to it at the moment, to store any diseases and viruses.

Dr. Rein is very clearly impressed. And looking forward to having a real workspace again, outside of the Infirmary.

Then the biohazard room. Perhaps they can see the area through some windows, seeing how it might be hastle to go through the whole entry process. Adrian's eyes widen. "How did you manage to get all this? Considering we live in a camp, I hadn't thought..." He smiles in anticipation.

Toby grins. I happen to be independently wealthy. And I have a high up contact in Prometheus Securities, this multinational defense contractor which has a subsidiary or two in the biomedical industry. I paid for it myself, helped design the blueprints, and directed the construction. Gold may not be able to buy me redemption, but I'm betting it can buy me the tools I need to do some good.

Well she's busy worrying about him so she probably doesn't notice.

Outside

Zero drops to the ground as he finishes the trap. His right hand starts to glow with blue energy. All he needs is for her to get close and finish her transformation.

[Outside]

"I...sensed something," Shrike says slowly. "A presence I have not felt since -"
Trailing off, she frowns, and then sprints off!

Possibly in the direction of where The Abyssal Formerly Known As Zel and Zero are fighting. >_>

[Halae]

[Cabin 8]

Lisor blinks and watches Shrike go. She doesn't follow, just sort of flopping back onto the ground and laying there for a moment. That's the most she's worked in a long time.

"Works for me," Jamie declares, drawing her wand and transforming!

Abigail grins, and transforms as well...

...trying to interrupt Jamie in the middle of her transformation sequence. Abigail transforms in a burst of energy, so...

The fox talks! "Shrike worked you hard, then?"

Valaira steps back once she is sure Zero has been restored to a decent physical state. She stoops over and offers him a bloodied hand to help him pull himself to his feet, weakly smiling at him with her jagged teeth while offering him a loving glance with her crimson eyes.

[Outside]

A silvery sword appears in Rose's hand, as she starts to run towards the Demon Queen.

Hahaha! Finally! My turn.

Demon Queen Doesn't look much like herself anymore. The only similarities are the white hair, a mostly same face, and the stone in her chest.

Otherwise, she looks like what you'd get if you took a small black dragon, got rid of the wings, and convinced it that it was actually a jungle cat.

Zero might suddenly feel a force on him as she raises a clawed hand. Pushing him down. Hard.

She doesn't seem to notice Rose.

[DoomITP]

Rose will find that there is a barrier preventing her from interferring.

Please leave this to me. I'm almost done here.

Zero then disappears into the blue sparks and then reappears right in front of her attempting to grab any limb he can, arm or leg. Once he does Demon Queen should almost instantly feel the influence being drained away and her normal form returning.

Zero will smile up at Valaria, though he seems a bit tired still.

Mikani is interrupted, but manages to parry, with a glowing green burst of energy from her wand!
"Hey! No fair interrupting!" she protests, counteratacking!

Shrike races torwards the fight as well, drawing her gleaming daiklave.
"Unhand him, Abyssal scum!"

Demon Queen roars when Zero grabs her. She starts thrashing about, trying to shake him off.

Zero will find two different, powerful things influencing her. Might take a little while longer than he thought.

In an attempt to throw him off, she starts sending out pulses of kinetic energy. Not sure if Zero's barrier will keep them from hitting Rose or Shrike.

Abigail chuckles. "Oh? And you expect everyone you go up against to play fair?"

Rose growls. "It doesn't look like it, you idiot!"

Awww, she's blushing (even though Zero shouldn't be able to notice that fact because of all the blood).

Oh no, she got blood all over Zero!

"Hey, Zero, I've got a great idea! You should go take a shower right now because showers are fun."

"Showers are fun." Was that seriously the best you could come up with?

Zero hangs on to her arm tightly, focusing on continuing his work.

The barrier should protect Rose and Shirke.

When he looks at the blood Zero just shakes his head.

Yeah, a shower would probably be a good idea.

Slowly, the thrashing is lessened. Demon Queen seems to be going back to her normal stature.

She's still fighting, though. Not done quite yet.

Mikani grins, then feints high, before trying to knock Abigail's legs out from under her!

Zero will only tighten his grip. He refuses to give up.

Slowly, Demon Queen returns to her human-looking self. She looks tired.

Then she promptly passes out.

The black sunburst still bleeds.

And Shrike rushes over, glaring at Zero and trying to check on the fallen woman.

Valaira vigorously nods her head, inwardly thanking the fates for keeping Zero from asking any questions about the blood.

"So, where are the showers?"

Valaira chirps, still playing her act clueless card.

Zero removes his hand from Demon Queen's arm, there should be a black dot with eight lines around it.

I... Gave you that... It will allow you to keep from going into that state without wanting to. You just have to touch it and focus to allow yourself to go back to that state...

Zero then drops to his knees and the barrier disappears.

"Must be odd, doing... this instead of hunting dragons and such. Not that I envy you." Dr. Rein shakes his head. "Used to get a lot of adventurers at the old clinic. You can imagine what that was like."

Adrian glances back toward the doorway. "So about those empty offices..."

I much prefer the sort of dull work I do in the infirmary now to my stint as a battlefield medic. Burning an incredible amount of magic to keep people up and fighting after getting disemboweled or having their throat ripped out... It was horrible. He pauses for a moment, caught in the past, then sighs and smiles at the doctor. Offices? Oh, sure, you can take your pick. I figure we can give the rest to Brianna or any other Emm Dees who teach here.
