I'm kinda hoping it works out between them. It'll be interesting to see Matt actually caring for someone other than himself and it'll be nice see to Radic a little less uptight after some "Treasure Type O" much, much further down the line.

I was fully expecting Matt to dine-and-dash as well, though I'm not sure Radic will let him do it. There's really a ton of ways this date could end up, depending on how many perverted comments Matt makes and how he reacts to the expensive bill.

No matter how this date ends up, there have been hints showing that Matt cares about her more deeply than just getting in her pants. Radic, however, might not realize this. I want to see how their relationship evolves as a response to this date that may or may not result in the two of them getting kicked out of the restaurant.

As for where the overall comic is headed, I'm enjoying these small, refreshing breaks from the main plot. You're taking advantage of this pause in the main story to develop the characters. It feels a bit like filler, so I wouldn't want this kind of thing to go on too much longer, but I understand why you'd follow Lloyd's flashback, Rust's rise to power, and Janine's dark backstory with lighter, comedic strips.

I expect his plans to be dine-and-dash or forgery-related as well, unless he did something surprising and won a coupon at an archery contest.

During the date, I expect him to continue to be adorably flabbergasted by everything and Radic to at least smile at his innocent silliness.

Then again, I might be biased by my hope for more silliness. :3
