Huh, I just noticed this video includes a shot of pony completely from above (flying Rainbow Dash). Now that I think about it, the wings are too far in the back, and it looks a bit wrong. The pony head must be mostly empty of full of light gas to balance it

Also, RD's imaginary Rainboom includes her pulling wings closely to her body, which is very sensible precaution to me. Maybe Wonderbolts don't do Rainbooms because they damage wings, and Rainbow doing it twice means she wrecked her career? After all, there must be reason why she wasn't capable of doing it, maybe her body told her to stop, and only massive danger allowed her to override instinct?

Possible, but let me suggest an alternative theory.

Maybe it's a matter of flow? Have you ever Stuided Bruce Lees Philosophy too martial arts, of flowing, of being as water because it is formless, that a good fight should be like a play, but played seriously, when your opponent expands, you contract, when your opponent contracts, you expand, and when there is an opening, you do not hit, your body hits all by itself?

What if the rainboom was similar? She hit it the first time because it was her instinct to do it the first time she felt the sheer rush of pushing her speed to what was at that time her body's absolute upper limit with out incurring injury. The second time, she was again acting on instinct to try and save her friend's and the wonder-bolts form certain death, and again feeling the rush as she again pushed herself to her upper limits.

If she tries to do it and over thinks it, like she was before the competition when trying to practice it, she can't pull it off because she's letting her higher brain functions get in the way instead of running on the Basic Instinct needed to guide her through the maneuver. This would also explain why she can do it but the Wonderbolts can't. For her, it's literally second nature, she just hasn't fully realized that yet.

Yes, there is already an Element of Recursion. Ironically enough, they chose it on account of my element being recursive, which already makes me the Hipster Element of Recursion.

I don't know about radio, though. How easy is it to move between towns and deliver messages? There wouldn't be much reason to send a morse-code electrical signal between towns if a pegasus could easily fly that distance, after all, and I don't think they'd develop full audio radio if they weren't relying on the earlier versions of it.

Even a trained pegasus pony express flier will average only tens of kilometers per hour, but telegraphy and radio are almost instant. And Equestria seems to be rather large (the mane six travel to Appleoosa in a sleeper train in Over a Barrel), so this would make a rather significant difference.
