You make camp again and spend another good night of sleep, under a large tree. Seanon heal anyone who is still tired from the 1º day with his magic (everyone full reserve points). You had no special dreams, but wake up edgy... You keep on walking the next day, felling as if something bad was about to happen... this forest can't reallt be as tedious as it has been. You take your morning preparations, pack up and leave.
At a random point the the woods, you hear a terrible sound, as if half the forest was abruptly tearing apart, coming from all directions at once. you suddenly see some small trees falling on the path a of a gigantic serpent, rushing in to you with it's huge maw open. You're in the middle of the forest and the vegetation hampers your movement a lot (ALL TERRAIN IS DIFFICULT TERRAIN, light undergrowth)

Vines, roots, and short bushes cover much of the ground in a forest. A space covered with light undergrowth costs 2 squares of movement to move into, and it provides concealment. Undergrowth increases the DC of Tumble and Move Silently checks by 2 because the leaves and branches get in the way. Heavy undergrowth costs 4 squares of movement to move into, and it provides concealment with a 30% miss chance (instead of the usual 20%). It increases the DC of Tumble and Move Silently checks by 5. Heavy undergrowth is easy to hide in, granting a +5 circumstance bonus on Hide checks. Running and charging are impossible. Squares with undergrowth are often clustered together. Undergrowth and trees aren’t mutually exclusive; it’s common for a 5-foot square to have both a tree and undergrowth.

Uidon nods to Xilef. "To even make them you save us. I will take care." Uidon carefully handles the berries and makes sure that the group stays taken care of, helping to secure supplies and gruffly encourage the slaves on their trek.

Uidon was still confused by the woods. He never worked in them, had little experience and was constantly amazed by the sights. When the "Thing" swayed out of the trees he was first amazed, and then promptly terrified.
It did not show on his face. "Pull back, pelt the monster. We fight for Vishino!" Uidon growls, honoring their eaten brother and rushing forward as his blade begins to glow.

When Korin moves closer to the serpent, it attacks with it's massive maw.

The devasting bite hits, and finding the heavy metal armor too indigestible, the serpent coils and crushes the prey.

As the bard feels himself sliding along the ground towards the monstrous serpent, he's caught between the terror of the beast and the irony of fighting something that so closely resembles yesterday's illusion. Still, Jartik has the presence of mind not to let the creature's size or ferocity overwhelm him. "These people are under our protection, and another shall not fall while I yet stand." he says, readying his sword to strike. Jartik breaks into a joyous, invigorating melody, inspiring all around to bring down any foe, big as it may be.

The serpent realizes it has too many foes and divides it's attention. While constricting Korin, it prepares to bite Xilef, that delt serious damage to it.

The dreamers, notedly Xilef, furiously counterattack the wurm dealing drastic damage on a short time. The creature was unable to further constrict Korin or eat Xilef. as it take several hits from all sides is starts to crumble down, lettin go of Korin.
It makes a feeble attemp to escape but it is already too wounded to carry on. It no longer moves and breaths heavely in uneven intervals. the monster is defeated.
Having a way with the wilds, Xilef recognizes some patterns on that creature... bright green scales, undamaged teeth, relatively small body for such a large head, only a few missing scales and very few scars (besides those you just dealt).... If this creature is as akin to snakes as it seems to be, this individual is a youngling.
The other slaves are a bit terrified by something that started and ended so fast. Besides, Vishino has been eaten and that's not pleasent to face.

The monster is dead (360 xp each PC), with a dead slave on it's belly. It has a massive carcass you could harvest (leather and meat). The slaves are a bit scared by the sudden conflict. what do you do?

"It is truly a terrible price to pay, but Vishino's sacrifice was not entirely without merit. Though we are weaker in number, we are much greater in goods. This... thing, will feed us for many nights, and provide clothing, tools, and shelter. Let us make sure our friend's death was not in vain, let us gain something this day. Let us continue the dream!" Flinging the serpent's blood from his sword, Jartik begins to sheathe the blade as he continues. "We shall hold services for our brother tonight, as the sun sets, and have a feast in his honor!"
SpoilerWhen he loses someone under his protection will be one of the few time Kanros is comfortable addressing the group like this. He's not a particularly religious man, but he knows the importance of respect and ritual, and will enforce both as he deems necessary.

cuttind further the beast you manage to find Vishino's corpse and Korin prepares a propper burial. It is much better than just be left to rot in the open, as would happen in the quarry.
Directed by xilef, harvesting the creature is a simple work, taking about 2 hours. You have enought leather for 2 suits of leather armor. You also have plenty of food for the day, but won't be able to conserve it for another day without magic or special materials (like salt)
By the time you are done harvesting what you can, small animals and bugs alredy start to fester the massive carcass. a feast for the forest, you could say.

about 2 hours after you're done with the serpent and resume your search, you stumble on what looks just like a big tree at first but then you realize is a large carved hut.
You're about 20 feet from the hut - it kind of got you by surprise on it's own natural wood-tree-hanging vegetation camuflage. You can't see the back of it.

Uidon helps cut the body of Vishino out of the thing. "Yes. A proper funeral. Our right." Uidon bows his head in respect at his brother's grave before loading the meat in leaves Xilef says aren't poison and wrapping them in the tent fabric. The group moves on.

Kanros moves carefully closer to the hut, but feels a tension in the air. just when he thinks he hears someting, a trio of goat-like humanoids jump out of the entrance of the hut and create a cone of dazzling colors in several directions, hitting even the invisible bard
