Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
In my case, I used a script I have that can automatically glue web pages together if the links between them is predictable (e.g., a "next" button). I let it load this way the entire archive (took a few hours) while I was doing something else. Then jumping to the end and quickly scrolling upward, stopping when a page looked vaguely like what I remembered. Took a while since I ended up mostly rereading forgotten strips. Some are quite funny.
I didn't use ohnorobots because, well, it's dreadfully out of date. Without eager contributors to transcribe strips, it's useless.Hark! An avatar drawn by Kate Beaton!

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Interesting. I expected something more along the lines of a keywords database, but not quite that. I have written similar scripts, but the aim was simply to get some given comic on my HD in order to read it comfortably, not to aggregate the strips.

edit after test with tessaract (relatively old version, admittedly): the above statement might be optimistic. A quick test on strip 2054 yields a lot of noise with no discernible text whatsoever (ironically the only readable ascii sequences which happen to be actual words are "gay" and "***".... which do not appear in the comic).
So yeah, turning this into an automatic process might be a little bit of work...Last edited by Gamall; 2011-11-10 at 01:45 PM.

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Wow, you guys and your fancy keyword searching shenanigans. When I looked up those 5 or 6 times Sweet-tits appeared in the strip I did it the hard way, by looking at every strip that happened after her introduction.
Witty sig here nosey, aren't ya?

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Wow, that's complicated.
I generally just remember an exact line or two plus some context. If a google search for those doesn't turn up something, I can usually remember a comic before or after. At some point, something turns up.
Or if I have nothing else to do, I just reread my way to the exact comic. But I rarely feel like doing that.Spoiler

However superb fighters they may be, they've no biological history or traditions to draw from. Thus "Look-It's a Monkey" works every time.

I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.
I'm not joking one bit. I would buy the hell out of that. -- ChubbyRain

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Huh. Well. This is an interesting development. I'm not certain I approve of Marten/Padma, not just because she's impulsive and just shot down... whatever his name was.
No, my problem is that she's going to California. And that's going to create drama. Lots and lots of drama.

For maximum drama this strip might be foreshadowing that Padma had a fling with Sven.

Y'know, with her eyes half-shut, Padma suddenly looks a lot more attractive.

Forget the rest of this strip, it should have been just the first panel. YELLING indeed, Hannelore.
And now to hope against hope that Elliot doesn't find out about this... indescretion on Padma's part.Last edited by Yana; 2011-11-11 at 12:16 PM.

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Padma:"Sorry you're too stupid to notice a casual fling before leaving the state when it smacks you upside the head, Marten."
Marten: *proceeds to be even more boring and bog the strip down for 3 months*
Audience: JEEEEEEEEEEEEEPH!
Nah, Padma's a great decision. She's just not relationship material and he's not convinced the audience that he's made of stern enough stuff to deal with anything other than "twu wuff.'
By the by, did anyone successfully parse what the heck Marten's "Thank you Hannelore" was in response to and supposed to mean in the strip before this one?
