Well I can bring a few games. Munchkin and Super Munchkin will fit into my bag easily (I think), and Cthulu Dice fits in a coat pocket (and I really want to play that. Want to drive some of you mad. MAD!). Anything bigger... I'll see what space I have.

On a related note, me and Thufir have been making some arrangements. This a tad complicated, but I'll try to explain as clearly as possible:

- Our train gets into Oxford around 17:40 (I think, need to check) on Friday.
- I've got a room booked at the Premier Inn for Friday and Saturday, so floor space is available for other people. That room is for me only, Thufir still needs floor space (which I know he's mentioned).
- I'm planning on staying until Tuesday, so I'll need floor space for Sunday and Monday nights.
- My train leaves Oxford at 13:07 on Tuesday. Thufir intends to stay longer and make his own way back.

Just thinking in terms of getting a proper numbering for the mini meetup, how about we consider it to be UKitP Meetup 10.2/10.3 somewhere?

In other notices, my ability to do any baking prior to the meetup may depend on shifting enough of the cough I've got that I don't end up coughing on the scones I would be making... because whilst the making of scones is a wonderful thing, bringing most of the UK playgrounder contingent down with coughs and colds would not be.

Alright, I'm now looking at a flight from Glasgow to Birmingham that leaves at 3.25pm on 10/3, and gets in at 4.35pm 10/3 (32gbp). Trains from Birmingham leave every hour, so I'd get to Oxford at 6.14pm (15gbp).
Is it worth bothering to book the train ticket in advance?

So that's one for Saturday, and everyone else various times on Friday?

I can understand that RPG's may not be on offer, but board games and the like might be a different matter...

In my case, I have a couple of decks for the Yugioh TCG assembled, fully compliant with the March 2012 banned/limited/semi-limited lists, and I might be able to track down a couple of other games to bring with me...

It's . . . fairly big, if people squish up (and depending on numbers) I can probs squeeze everyone in.
HOWEVER, as I've said before, having long-term guests is kind-of-not-really-allowed, so circumspect is the name of the game! The cleaners don't come weekends, and I can just leave a post-it saying the bin's empty, so we should be okay.

My lovely Lawyer Friend as informed me that there's a festival celebrating Holi on Saturday from 11:30 am.

From the email she forwarded me:

Oh, and to your bit asking for G&S doods' help, I don't know. I don't think it counts as recit, it's more rhythmic than that. If anything, it's closest to rap, but it's so very different from actual rap music. Maybe there's some other term I don't know.


Um, so I was wanting an answer on the acceptability of me staying all the way through to the 18th and just leaving earlier in the morning than you, or if you'd want everyone out the day before so you could pack and whatnot.

On the subject of Holi- I'd probably bow out of that for reasons relating to real world religions. I'm just not convinced that's a compromise that I should make, though if I just wander over to that games shop (I have a street map of Oxford to hand, so I shouldn't get lost), I can make some acquisitions that suit me better than getting involved in that.

1- If it would be preferable, I can arrive later, it's not as if I have to book bus tickets in advance or anything.

2- With regards to eating I'd suggest cutting off the really expensive end of the spectrum, since some of us (Serpy notwithstanding) have budgets to live to- but I can stretch to reasonably pricy at a push... Do have a peanut allergy, but that shouldn't affect much...

3- There is the possibility that by the time people get there you may have more classic who around than you were expecting...
