Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Xykon. No doubt. Something tells me he knows more than he is letting on about things.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Xykon. The Snarl and Dark One are more story elements than they are actual characters. I wouldn't rule out Redcloak, Nale, or the archfiends somehow usurping the title, but I find that very unlikely. And it's definitely not gonna be Tarquin.
Sabine's funnier, and slightly more interesting I'd say, (MitD is the interesting one in O-Chul's little story arc). O-Chul's awesome, but not enough for me. EDIT: I feel kinda bad voting against the paladins every time they come up, but eh.Last edited by Gift Jeraff; 2012-06-11 at 08:48 AM.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
78% of all DM's start their first campaign in a tavern. If you're among the 22% who didn't, copy and paste this into your signature and tell us where you DID begin. The players were attacked individually on the road on the way to town by werewolves. To survive, they had to team up then and there without knowing anything about eachother (literally -- all character sheets were completed without other players' knowledge).

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Man... I abstained from voting in Tarquin v. Xykon because it was just too close to pick.. and by that I mean I have t-shirts from cafepress with both of their images on it (Xykon: sacrificing minions! and Tarquin: making omelets!)
This time around, I've got no problem jumping in with my 2 cents.
Great question. I'm going to say that "The Snarl" doesn't actually exist as the crayon flashbacks made it look. Probably a portal to a parallel universe (Dim Sun?)... Tarquin is a great villain, but he's Elan's villain. Xykon is technically Roy's villain, but Xykon would never characterize himself that way. My concern is that Xykon is now too powerful for any team of adventurers to hack down using traditional means. So heres to Redcloak betraying Xykon and taking over at the last minute as the Big Bad.
0-chul is basically a terminator. He feels no fear or pain and he never stops...

Tempted to go with the IFCC, but I don't think they'll upstage Xykon.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
There are so many small bad guys that have been played up over the course of the comic that I wouldn't doubt one of them becoming so powerful the others are forced to unite against him. Tarquin wants to keep the world conquerable for himself and could side with the ordr against Xykon. Xykon doesn't want to die, and was actually truly threatened by the ghost paladin attack. He'd do anything to stay in the game. I'm going with the IFCC presenting enough fire power to unite the bads against them, at least temporarily, though Redcloak may be working with them, if we remember him using demons heavily and wanting to keep something there a secret.
Yay for O'Chul, can he make it?

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Xykon has too many chanches of being overwhelmed by the Snarl (accepting that he doesn't know about Redcloack real plan) or the IFCC to be really picked up as a choice.
Redcloack is not a villain in my sight: he take care of his people, worshipping their god, for the greater good of them. Just as paladins and so on, so I am never voting him to be the latest badass, even if I must say I still love him. But to put a cheaper reason, I don't think he would really be able to control the Snarl, no way.
The Snarl: it is one of my options.
Tarquin: once the Snarl will be released, in my opinion he would form an alliance with the good ones: why in the world would he like to loose his realms? And for that I know of Tarquin, he wouldn't try to control something SO risky without a proper previous study (remember Thog).
Nale: seriously? He could count something at the end just in an absurd luck rate check. But at that point, the IFCC or his consciousness itself would stop him someway.
So, I have the Snarl of the IFCC. Or, dreaming about them to killing each others, Xykon as an old-school epic lich sorcerer. Just for personal liking, I vote for the IFCC.
Ps: and I truly wonder where the creature in the darkness will act.
Sabine. To tell the truth I hate them both, so I've followed the old rule (guess which one). Was vernünftig ist, das ist wirklich; und was wirklich ist, das ist vernünftig. (G.W.F.H.)

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
I think it's arguable that Redcloak and Xykon are effectively co-Big Bads (everyone else is ultimately going to be just a plot thickener). But if I absolutely had to choose one of them, it would be Xykon.
O-Chul. I actually do like Sabine, but this man is awesome.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Redcloak. This is partly just to neutralize all of the Xykon votes, since I too view RC and Xykon as "co-Big Bads," but I expect Redcloak to have a moment of triumph over his boss at the climax - before, of course, being utterly defeated by someone - just because it makes dramatic sense. The tables need to turn, and if they don't turn for the goblin who by then will have spent well over one thousand strips on his Plan, the dramatic letdown will be colossal.
Also, O-chul, because he is incredible and Sabine is frankly obnoxious.Number of Character Appearances VII - To Absent Friends

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Give me a vote for the lich, please. Though I wish I could vote for two and include Redcloak as well. They're really two sides of the same perilous coin.
I'll vote for O-Chul.
Sabine's occasionally funny, but she's too shallow and smarmy to compete.Last edited by Bulldog Psion; 2012-06-12 at 02:12 PM.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Xykon has been around for ages, and has a great backstory, but the IFCC strikes me as far more dangerous. Xykon doesn't want to destroy the world. IFCC? Not so clear. Then again, there's also the Dark One.
*sigh*
Decisions.
IFCC (or whoever they end up allied with)
And O-Chul wins hands-down.
EDIT: And also, who wouldn't love to see the IFCC give Xykon a taste of his own medicine? Calmly destroy him without so much batting an eye or making a big epic deal of it.Last edited by Ted The Bug; 2012-06-12 at 07:01 PM.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Throw me in the Redcloak camp. I think it'll be between him and Xykon, and as much as I think it'll be Xykon, I also want to round out the votes for all those who wish they could vote for the RC/Xykon team.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
I agree with everything you are saying. I think the IFCC have way more power on their side than Xykon and Redcloak (assuming, perhaps foolishly, that these two are on the same side when the matchup begins).
That said, I'm going to go with Someone Else - the IFCC.
Also, O-Chul had me sold as the greatest character when I realized that he actually understood how to play Go.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Let's see..
1. He did not engage Thanh in duel, knowing that he had a chance to crush Thanh and his resistance forces (already dead before Thanh's death).
2. She destroyed evidence of his own plan when Tsukiko found out about that the gates cannot be controlled.
3. Since I just said "Makarov" (From Modern Warfare Series) and "Xanatos" (From Gargoyle, even though he's abit ambiguous), I could spoiled the plot of the either one.Badly drawn helmet avatar drawn by me.

You theoretically could have, but you didn't. Ghhhh. (Do I want to know how Xanatos is "abit[sic] ambiguous"? No, I don't--I mean it, I don't, don't quote this post and just respond to this, ignoring the rest of the post!)
As ThePhantasm and oppyu pointed out, words mean things. Please learn the definition of "genre savvy" instead of using it as a stand-in for "not completely overripe-banana brained."Last edited by Kish; 2012-06-18 at 11:14 AM.
