Warning, big. Well... Here's my attempt at something a little more complex...

Now that isn't necessary. I got to this point with lots of practice.

Asdlove, his hair looks amazing... How did you do that? Jealous!

I used the Bezier curve tool. Seriously. Anytime I draw hair I use that and draw it very roughly, then tweak it until I like how it looks. It's not really difficult...
This is a screen shot so it's very big, but you can see my nodes and the way I have it curved here.

@Mad: The Xyborg looks completely odd, but I can't really put my finger on what. Maybe the boots/shoes.

Theo ther one has a lot of inconsistent lines, and the eye-incinerating colors don't help a lot. I understand the idea is to show the madness, but those colors don't really make a difference with such brightness.

(Wow, it feels like eternities since I crawled my way into A&C the last time...)

Anyway, I've somehow been hooked up on a project to steampunk a real steam engine for a steampunk festival next summer, and to highlight the ongoing design competition, I made myself a new avatar drawn on top of a blueprint of the engine. Now, even if I tried to keep it simple, most of the details were too small for the 120x120 format (I'm an engineer, accordance to scale is a must), so I thought I may as well showcase the large version to anyone interested:

Okay, I wasn't entirely truthful up there, the spanner isn't entirely to scale. A reduction by 33% would probably be a bit more accurate.

At our school, girls have red caps/gowns and boys have blue (technically peacock). Funnily enough, my Male Best Friend would rather have red and I'd rather have blue.
