Meh, kinda a boring round, everything in the main round was painfully easy, and the LC had little relevance for me.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Redcloak
VS
Daimyo Kubota
No citation needed. I'm actually hoping on either him or V for the tournament's great victor. I don't like V that much but she's complex and interesting enough to deserve this. If it ends up being Mister-I'm-Perfect O-Chul, I'm gonna be quite disappointed.
Pit Fiend
VS
Thog
Yeah, I don't really need to explain this one either, even if I am not the greatest Thog fan around.
LC
Sara Greenhilt
VS
Jenny
I had to look in my memories to remember who Jenny was.
Trigak
VS
Booted Wight
He's cute.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Redcloak VS Daimyo Kubota - Redcloak. Easily.
Pit Fiend VS Thog - Vote against Thog, not for the Pit Fiend.
Sara Greenhilt VS Jenny - Abstain.
Trigak VS Booted Wight - Have to go with the latter. The Booted Wight just reminds me of all the little details that are added to the comic that you just don't always notice immediately, but are happy to find later.Administrator of the DnD gaming server, Sea of Dragons: Moonsea - a Persistent World set in the Forgotten Realms that uses the Neverwinter Nights 2 game.

Thog for being shameless.
Sara Greenhilt for having better taste in romantic partners.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Redcloak
Thog
Sara Greenhilt
Trigak
The first three choices should be fairly obvious. As for Trigak, well, I suppose he's a bit funnier than the booted wight.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Roy Greenhilt: This is quite a tough match-up, but ultimately, Roy is more developed and more interesting as a character than Malack.
Nale: Much more important to the story.

Ooh, given how popular Malack's become lately, I wonder if Roy might be the first PC to be knocked out of the competition... that said, I'm still voting for him!

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Roy Greenhilt
VS Malack
Malack is a strong character; a powerful and thouroughly Evil villain, who manages to conceal his Evil villainess from the world (and evidently some readers) by a veener of politiness and courtesy. But a second-string antagonist vs. our main protagonist? Roy comfortably gets my vote here. This is also a face-off I really want to see in the comic. And the result I want to see is Evil snake-vamp dude getting smacked down hard by Our Hero.
Nale
VS
Old Blind Pete
A slightly tougher match-up. Old Blind Pete, given his limited screen time, left quite an impression on me, and had some good comedy moments ("magically animated public urinal" still makes me chuckle. Nale seems to have quite a hate-dom on the boards, and I'm not sure if it is because people dislike the things the character says and does (understandable; his visciousness is only matched by his petty small-mindedness), or dislike the concept/writing of the character (less understandable, IMO). While he'll never be my favourite antagonist, Nale's got more than enough to beat out the treacherous former thieves' guilder.Last edited by sam79; 2013-03-30 at 06:18 AM.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Roy, because he's the main character, the party leader, enjoyably snarky, and he's come up with some pretty good plans in the last arc.
Nale, because as annoying and incompetent as he is, he's still a major character and Blind Pete isn't.
(Now that we've got mostly major characters remaining, may I suggest that when a rounds involves two characters who have fought or clashed with each other, the quotes for them should be ones from that fight? Malack and Roy have barely met so it doesn't matter for this one, but it could be interesting later on.)Last edited by LadyEowyn; 2013-03-30 at 08:16 AM.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Malack and Nale.
I just really, really like Malack. He seems like a genuinely nice guy--evil, sure, but if you were going to have a next-door neighbor who was evil, you'd want it to be him. I love the way he cares about his "children," I love how responsible he is. I'm not under any illusions that he's Good, but he's not kick-starving-puppies evil. He's pick-up-the-kid-who-fell-and-skinned-their-knee evil (and then go eat their parent).
I feel bad for him, coming up a protagonist so early. That's tough luck--I hope he lasts out this round, but I think it's a slim chance. People are voting for Roy because he's a cool character, because he's in some sense the hero of the strip, and some (I suspect) because they don't want to seem like they're just like everyone else and a Malack fangirl/boy.
Oh, and why only two pairings? Weren't we doing four a round?

Malack. One of the few members of Uncle Xykon's PC Killers Club.
Nale. Traitor Pete should thank his lucky stars for getting that far. There must be some sense of order - personal, political or dramatic - and if no one else is going to bring it to this world, I will.

Malack. Love him as a villain, and I like that he has grandiose plans. Terrible, I-weep-for-the-world plans, but grandiose nonetheless

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
At last, the important characters are getting to face each other!
Roy. No contest. One was introduced this book and is a supporting villain, the other is the main character of the entire series.
Nale: Supporting villain vs tiny minor character. Another easy one.

I don't know why Nale is on the Loser's Cup My fault for not being there when he needed my vote, as he is a lovable bastard. Pete is ok, but Nale should stomp him.My Player Registry entry.
