Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
*watches people warring over LaLa*
*studies globe*
It turns that I'd to have go roughly 6000-7000 km in order to throw myself into the fray. That equals at least 20 hours non-stop flying in a small propeller plane, and the shortest path would take me straight across Greenland. Oh well, the only things I need are a flight certificate and a plane with large fuel tanks. It almost sounds manageable.
Nah, I locked all my emotions into a dark closet long ago. Judging from the bangings on the door, I suppose they're having quite fun on their own in there.
This made me laugh. Mostly because my grandmother (mother's mother, because as a Swede, I like to make a distinction) has thrown herself into the computer world with great enthusiasm (surprisingly great enthusiasm for someone that's ~80 years old, actually), and it should be only a matter of time before she does the same.Last edited by Teddy; 2012-08-23 at 05:55 AM.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
Um. I'm in shock. I'm playing Fire Red Nuzlocke and my Charmeleon just died. Critical hit from Tri Attack took her from full health to dead in one go. What do I do now? :(

Well... The Arctic Ocean is further North, isn't it? And there aren't any other oceans in the region.
I mean, there are only five by modern geographical standards, seven if you want to subdivide the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
I don't know... It could be different in other languages...Mauve Shirt, Savannah, Gnomish Wanderer, Cuthalion and Smuchmuch get cookies for making me avatars. (::)

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
Nuzlocke player here (though I'm only on my first), the rules do not explicitly give immunity to starters, so unless that has changed in your run, your order of business is as follows:
1- Mourn Charmeleon (this stage continues until the end of your Nuzlocke run)
2- Pick something to try and replace Charmeleon (you will often hate the guts of the replacement until it suddenly does something awesome)
3- Continue on, in the process making the trainer who killed Charmeleon pay.
4- Extra mourning of Charmeleon to happen at dramatically appropriate intervals.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
This is so funny.
I was never a fan of the nuzlocke.
ION: Today, for the first time since I've been in college, I did not arrive late or early. I was exactly on time. Good thing I don't have English today, though. The PRT's broken down again and it's so hard to catch a bus. But when it works it's the most wonderful piece of machinery.
Of course, if I was a wizard, the question of punctuality would be a non-issue...

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
The decision to ban Conjuration is one of the worst someone playing a wizard can make. In fact, it's probably one of the best schools to specialize in. Not the specialization is really a boon after the lower levels.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
It was a joke guys
In OotS Vaarsuvius(sp) banned conjuration and then lost the ability to teleport in the changeover from 3.0 to 3.5Last edited by Devmaar; 2012-08-23 at 09:19 AM.

That happens a lot without the visual cues from body language.
But oddly enough my friend can no longer tell if I'm being sarcastic or not, even if I'm only two metres from him...Mauve Shirt, Savannah, Gnomish Wanderer, Cuthalion and Smuchmuch get cookies for making me avatars. (::)

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
You latch onto that and note Moonie or Dragonprime or Cobra. Clearly you're biased. Also Teddy
Everything about this is the greatest thing.
Or DragonZodiac. Which is slightly actually rather awesome sounding. Aquarious+Dragons=Leviathan!
I assume you're relatively in the middle of the game, so my only real advice is this. Continue onward.
As an aside, I beat a Nuzlocke without any deaths. I feel so lucky
Off the top of my head.
1: You are terrafied of the creatures you can summon
2: You live in a world where teleporting does something weird, ala Warhammer 40K, where summoning something likely makes everything that is nasty and has fifty mouths look directly at you
3: You want to try something different
Also, forgot to hit quote on it, but thanks Teddy. But don't go to such troubles just for meLast edited by LaZodiac; 2012-08-23 at 09:55 AM.

Well, I guess there are plenty of roleplaying reasons to bar Conjuration, but as far as optimization goes, I'm not seeing it.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
To swing the conversation away from D&D, how morally wrong is it to download something that is not sold anymore, like a CD, or book that is out of print?
I know it's wrong, but the idea that it's should never be experienced again by anyone because a company decided to not produce it is kinda annoying.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
You can wait for it to become public property.
I don't know how long that takes, but it varies depending on the item in question.
No, that's part of the Atlantic.
By seas that don't count as part of oceans, I meant the Caspian Sea, the Aral Sea, the Sea of Galilee... You know, those sorts of places that are contiguous with the Earth's Oceans.Mauve Shirt, Savannah, Gnomish Wanderer, Cuthalion and Smuchmuch get cookies for making me avatars. (::)
