Callie sighs and pulls away. I love you Becky, but honestly I'm disappointed. You haven't given me very much useful information. It's been months since we last talked. That was when you told me Ilpholin defeated Gordon and became the new leader.

"Well he doesn't have a collar, and he was hurt pretty bad. His leg was broken. I don't know what happened to him, but I think he is glad to see a friendly person."

"Prepare to be deafened with righteousness!" Doctor Decibel says, bursting off the ground with a sonic jet boost so that he can flying drop sonic kick the robot that entrapped him.

If this weren't a sturdy bank, I'd be concerned with the building supports by this point in time. Doctor Decibel has a rather nasty habit of ignoring his collateral property damage...

Bham, Whapow, Kaboom! The forcefield strains and wavers visibly under the strain of Dr. Decibel's assault, each supersonic punch cause the walls to bend outwards until the once perfect sphere has been twisted into a rough oval by the unyielding barrage.

And then, with an unearthly sound that can only be described as the dying screech of any semblance of basic material laws, the forcefield shatters and winks out of existence. If it were possible for a robot to feel fear, I suppose this would be the time for it.

Oh dear. I must admit to being absolutely lost as to what sound effect best describes tearing the metal limbs from a robot with your bare hands. Um, Scrunch, maybe?

In any case. With her massive might Gelley has little troubling disarming the robot and leaving it all but helpless. From there, it's a relatively simple matter to get her hands around it's neck and tear, the severing of what is effectively it's nervous system finishing the droid off and causing it's shield to fall as well.

Gelley, seeing two droids down and one to go, decides to let tje good doctor deal with the last one. She heads straight for the control office, where that ghostly figure is presumably still lingering. Gelley gets a running start and then takes flight, hopefully bursting through the glass before making a grab at their foe.

Decibel really is a pain to be around. Inside the vault, she's had to tune her audio receptors just so they ignore sounds as loud as him.

"Where I'm from, the only people likely to set something like this up are the Elves. And they're a xenophobic race of megalomaniacs that claim to have the oldest culture, which is true as far as it goes. They're unlikely to invite anybody that isn't an elf, and even then not every elf would get an invite." Just City Elves, the richest Wood Elf nobles and Sea Elf ship captains. Wild Elves won't be invited. "I'm just going to assume the most fun thing is eating it. Although I'd rate that at second, after swimming."

Shrike sticks her tongue out at Tina, and shakes her head bemusedly. "No, eating it is the third most fun thing. I'll let you use your imagination though," the redheaded Exalt says, grinning and aiming an elbow for Tina's side.

"I'd dunk you if I weren't afraid you'd drown," Tina says, trying to put an arm around Shrike chummily. She just looks at Myrim, uncertain what to say about that first part. More on the pompous elves later. "Yeah, stick to that. Swimming. Though really, something less sticky might've been better. Butter. Chocolate, even." Just can't get chocolate off her mind!

The waiter is busy with someone else by the time Ekkehand is back, but Kareem at the bar waves him over. "Nice job with that. Let me buy you a drink."

Zefir arrives here. Sadly his mission couldn't be done, since the player who owns the elves never appeared. He just watches the cat boy fly away from the entrance, but don't investigates more.

The Gate of this place is open again. It has been a long time to recover from the undead attack a while back, but now things are fine again. A sign near the gate tells everyone reading it, that a mass is held soon. Everyone who wants to be part of it can come.

The courtyard is empty right now, only the iron paths, leading through the church and the two side buildings can be seen.

"You can only swim through butter when it's molten, otherwise you're walking on it. Chocolate might be good for swimming, though. I'm not too familiar with the stuff." She's from a Medieval-ish type world with some technologies from further forward and others are stuck slightly behind. There's the compass and telescopes, but no gunpowder although some of the large frigates closely resemble those from the Golden Age of Piracy. Meanwhile, some cultures use iron, bronze or even stone weaponry, whilst others use glass.

"Thank you. I'll have a perry, please." Also known as pear cider, my favourite alcoholic drink. Or the one I imbibe most regularly, anyway. If 'regularly' can be applied to anything drunk once ever fortnight or so.

The drink order is placed. "I'm Kareem."

Vincent was waiting for Caroline to give a suggestion, but then remembers she can't talk in the middle of dialogue choices like this. On one hand, fighting might cause a cool item to drop or something. On the other hand, quests are almost guaranteed to do that. And it's not like they have to do whatever it is if they don't want to, if crazy fish guy is any example.

This park would have an odd name anywhere else, but in the Nexus it conveyed a sense that at least one park was normal. No ghosts or plant monsters or other unsightly supernatural things. It was very popular among those who didn't have magic or weapons to defend themselves with, just for being a place that looked nice. Most of the people who visited were humans, and today was no exception.

But for all those humans at this normal park, this would rapidly become a very bad day.

It started in an instant, with the ground beneath some visitors' feet beginning to rumble. Then, the earth ruptured and grotesque, insectoid monsters emerged, instantly killing any human nearby. Some ran, and were soon cut down. Those who were farther away managed to send several calls to Remnant before being cut down. The monsters numbered in at least a dozen, and the people in this park were completely defenseless.

A great deal of screaming originates from this area.

"I'm Ekkehard Ohtheresson. I'm glad to meet you, Kareem. May I ask how business is going?" If not, that's fine too. He glances around at Zefir, but when he sees that the newcomer is a human nods slightly before turning back to his companion.

Looks like a job for the Fast Response Squad. Eight combat bikes are heading at great speed towards the park. They split into two smaller groups, four each, to flank the monsters.

The group that went to the left greets the Chrysalids with a short burst from an SMG, a grenade and a bolt of divine fire as they drive around them, trying to gauge their reactions and capabilities.

The group to the right does likewise, assailing the monsters with an assault rifle burst, a hand grenade and a greenish lighting bolt that stinks of bogs and corpse rot.

Completely defenseless- except one.

Sophia Holt had been looking around the Red Zone, getting a general idea of the layout of Inside. And then... this happened. The Scion reacted more than instantly, forewarned by her senses over the earth, and as soon as the first monster was above ground, she shot at it twice with her Fenris Arms pistol, sending 10mm rounds towards the monsters.

Screams and blood. More then enough to get Noah the intellegent dog who was out patrolling for Remnant. He runs quickly to the scene looking it over, trying to figure out where he can be the most help.

He sees the Fast Response Unit and Sophia Holt fighting back already. Figuring that the woman on foot might appreaciate someone watching her back he runs towards Sophia. Of course she might not recgonize him as anything beyond a normal dog on the street. His fur mostly covering the badge/emblem/identifying marker that identifies him as working with Remnant.

"Oh, sorry. My player thought you were on the other side of the bar." Ekkehard nods at Kareem's words. "I don't think he's coming back. Called me a 'meanie-face'." The last is said in a sort of bewildered manner.

Vinny's Place

Billie and Elaine weren't supposed to swap until the middle of the day. But after years of fighting for control, this rapid (for them) swapping is difficult, and slips keep happening.

In this case, the slip happens while Billie is at Vinny's place. They'd just come back here from the bar, and Vinny had turned around to pour drinks. When he turned back, Elaine was there.

She blinks, and then sighs. "I'm sorry, Sir. I appear to be intruding. Has Billie told you about me?"
