After a moment, Keo sits on the floor and curls up a bit. She's probably never going to see a lot of her friends again...

"I can do the stroll, at least as far as the trees. I love climbing, and I learnt of my abilities after I was temporarily cursed into the shape of a monkey. If that hadn't happened, then later, when I got really scared, my subconscious couldn't have forced me into monkey shape to try and escape the danger. It didn't really help; I was in a bunker, far safer than if I'd been atop a tree. Not sure about the conversation, though; Dad's better at that sort of thing. I'll do my best, though." Natalie's not shy; she has a tendency to babble sometimes, though her use of overly long words is no longer such a large part of her personality as it was way back at the beginning.

Outside

"You're doing just fine so far, dear. Cursed into a monkey, you say? What was that like?" Thelonious says, hop-skipping along as they walk.

"Who cursed yee also?" Maggie asks.

Outside

"Far more fun than one would suspect. I at a cursed banana at school, along with nearly every other person there, student and teacher alike. I think it was a mishap, the wrong lorry of bananas sent to the wrong place, and it wore off after a while anyway. Probably faster on me than on anybody else, due to my latent shapeshifting abilities." Up until that point in PACK, Natalie was a perfectly mundane human being. I thought afterwards that latent shapeshifting would be an interesting way to give her supernatural abilities quickly; it wasn't official even in my head for weeks after. It took whatever it was that forced everyone at PACK into an emergency bunker (I think zombies?) to actually decide me.

Lume nods as she speaks, then the rectangle begins to flash at seemingly random points. "Don't worry," Lume says in his most calming tone, "the flashes are a part of the process. Basically, I am only a soul. Because of this, I can manipulate and read soul energy. Right now, I'm reading your soul to see if that's where the problem is."

[Infirmary]

"Oh, alright then." That doesn't make all that much sense to Kitty, but she'll take his word for it. She fidgets a bit. That rectangle of light is making her a bit uncomfortable. "So, how ling does this usually take?"

Outside

"Haha, had we access to it, I'm certain some rowdy bunch would have done something similar back in my cadet days in Salamandastron." He lays a hand on the fencing foil at his hip and sighs nostalgically.

"Oi'm sure yee would be one of 'em," Maggie says, nudging him with an elbow.

"Maybe so," he says between chuckles. "I'm sure you were just in angel in your school days."

"Aye."

Outside

"It doesn't matter too much what I do at school. I'm pretty much guaranteed a place at a very prestigious private university. Dad runs it; makes him a very busy man, though he's certainly important. I want to learn magic, though, and I have a book on magic tricks, but it's in my rucksack." Which she isn't wearing for once as Natalie can't take that with her when she transforms. Unlike her new dress, she hasn't found one for shapeshifters yet.

Outside

"You seem plenty sharp. I'm sure you'll do fine no matter the school," Thelonious says. "And I can relate to a busy father. Long Patrol hares never got much free time, but he spent time when he could. It's why I won every tournament I could. To have as a trophy for him to see when he got home." The hare-man puffs out his chest, proud as can be.

"Oi wasn't no tourney winner, but me pa were always proud er me," Maggie adds to the conversation. "But enuff remernissin'. What sorta magic 'ave yee learned? Oi 'aven't seen real magic afore yee turned from a bird to a girl."

Outside

"My shapeshifting is natural, not magical at all. Maybe a bit extra-normal, but not full-fledged proper magic. It's DNA. Mostly, it's card tricks. Both sleight of hand and proper magic mimicking sleight of hand. Here, look." Natalie clicks her fingers and a flash of red light accompanies the appearance of a playing card. Specifically, a Queen of Spades depicting a female mole with some resemblance to Maggie. "There's more, but that's quite a simple conjuration. There's one spell in the book I haven't used yet, though. I think it's too dangerous if I get it wrong."

[Hattish Thing]

Outside-Main Cabin

The strange priest moves over to the Main Cabin, still seeming very much lost. He's smiling happily though. This place was nice. Beautiful trees, a lake, nice hills. This place was far more to his taste then the dim, dark, dusty church. They had taught him everything, and now Father Callaway Krutch was ready to see if he could get to live in a new part of the world. He'll walk in the door. Excuse me? Anyone?

[Infirmary]

"Oh, alright then." That doesn't make all that much sense to Kitty, but she'll take his word for it. She fidgets a bit. That rectangle of light is making her a bit uncomfortable. "So, how ling does this usually take?"

"Not very long at all," Lume replies. "I'd be finished already if I was more familiar with your species. However, I should have results... now."

Really? Cool. Well, new helper is cool, I mean.

She looks around a little. Are they here now?

Quinn smiles at Krystal, and points in Lume's direction. "Well, there he is..."

Jamie comes awake at the boot to the head! Her hat going flying!
"Huh? What? What is it?"

Jamie starts to say something...then winces.
Seems she brain-froze herself.

Outside-Main Cabin

A small blue kitty sitting on the cabin's roof looks down and says as the Father opens the door, "You know, it's generally considered polite to knock first." Might stop Father Krutch from just walking inside. Might not. But Reinholdt's firmly outside.

Krystal looks to where Quinn is pointing.

Ah. That explains the extra reflections my hair's giving off.

Looks like he's busy. I'll introduce myself when he's done.

Alysha can't help herself. She gives a small giggle at Jamie's misfortune.

That's what a brain freeze is. It doesn't actually freeze your brain. It's just, usually, if you eat cold stuff too fast, you get a sharp headache right at the front of your head. Though, I guess it's possible you could be, like, immune to that. I guess.

[Hattish Thing]

Outside-Main Cabin

Father Krutch turns to face the talking cat. He was new to the Nexus...maybe animals could talk? Or this cat was some kind of possessed demon cat, in which case the Father had plenty of holy water and salt. Either way, it couldn't hurt to be polite. Oh...yes, pardon. Where are my manners...I am Father Callaway Krutch, of Pelor. And you are...?

[Reinholdt]

Outside-Main Cabin

Don't know if Father Krutch can sense unholy, but Reinholdt appears to have that aura about him.

"Oooh, full titles then. Reinholdt, Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire of Himself." Reinholdt gives his flourish.

[McBish]

[Main Cabin]

"That would be an odd trait to have. But it hasn't bothered me so far, so I guess maybe I am immune. Guess that means I get to eat all the ice cream I want."

She grins and takes another big bite of ice cream.

"Do you think I am an angel Alysha?"

She sets her spoon down sounding more serious.

[Hattish Thing]

Outside-Main Cabin

Father Krutch is a traveling Exorcist, he does immediately sense the unholy aura. His blue eyes and face smile happily, nodding slowly, his left hand moving into his coat. Ah, Reinholdt....treasure hunter. What exactly...are you? I'm an Exorcist. He keeps his left hand in his coat firmly.

Alysha tilts her head a little as she looks at Yuki thoughtfully.

Then she shrugs.

I don't know. I mean, it's completely possible. You could be. But, you could also be a monkey in a big robotic suit.

You look a lot like an angel, that's for sure.

[Reinholdt]

Outside-Main Cabin

"I'm a cat who can lay claim to being many things." Reinholdt says, tensing all the same. Why'd this guy feel the need to emphasize Exorcist?

The Exorcist calmly brings out a little vial and uncorks the stopper. Mind if I have a drink? Tell me some more about yourself. He sets down his chrome suitcase. You're a cat...that can talk? In Chicago, most cats don't talk...but I don't think I'm in Chicago anymore.

[Main Cabin]

"Well I don't feel like a monkey in a robot suit, or an angel really."

She sighs taking her time and finishing off the rest of her ice cream.

[Reinholdt]

Outside Main Cabin

"You didn't come here to get my permission to drink, I hope?" Reinholdt's not in control of that and doesn't pretend to be.

"Yes I can talk. There have been a few rare other examples of cats that can talk, but they always disappear and fade away. I'm the only real one." Besides, you know, all the other talking Reins. And the Highly Annoying Cat, but he's not really a cat.

Alysha will give a small smile, set her bowl down, and go to pat Yuki's shoulder.

Hey, angel or not, you're still my friend. Okay?

He smiles, but doesn't drink. So...Reinholdt...what really are you? A demon? Undead?

Reinholdt's claws extend as he clutches the roof tensely.

"That's none of your business."

[Main Cabin]

Yuki looks up with a smile at Alysha.

"Of course. I owe you so much Alysha. Thank you."

[Hattish Thing]

Outside Main Cabin

Reinholdt's claws extend as he clutches the roof tensely.

"That's none of your business."

The Exorcist beads his eyes back and forth at Reinholdt's extending claws. He adjusts the holy symbol on his necklace. I want to help. You don't seem possessed...

[Reinholdt]

Outside Main Cabin

"That's my number one problem doc." Reinholdt says cryptically, wondering how the guy can help if there isn't possession involved.

[Gullara]

"Alright then." Kitty waits expectantly.

As for the results of the scan. Kitty's soul is very strong compared to a normal person's. Calling it akin to a bright flame is not a bad analogy. There's a sort of taint present, barely perceivable. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be having an active effect on her right now. It's idle, and there's no way to tell when or if it might act up again.
