Oh, one bit of trivia I think I heard about that movie: they originally ended the movie when they first got to Wally World and test audiences HATED it. The audiences were on a trip to see Wally World too, and that's a horrible way for their trip to end. So the filmmakers went back and wrote and shot the released ending, but not before Rusty had grown another foot since the original shoot had ended.

This one is particularly amusing in light of the second bullet point in the commentary.

Going back through the 50's comics, I just realized that Pete's character is ignominiously poisoned to death in at least two universes.

This strip and the last one really drive home what special effects were like in the 70s. I saw the remastered version first, so I guess I never realized everyone else probably thinks of a Twi'lek as some guy with a goofy rubber head.

Well, we do see a couple of Jabba's Twi'lek dancers in the next scene, so I wouldn't say that's the only way everyone else thinks of them...

Jabba is great. Using humanoid proverbs and then correcting himself in regards to his anatomy is something all Aliens should do. But that he has droid slaves slave droids does not bode well for our heroes. The question is will they end up serving Jabba because something goes wrong or as a part of the plan.

I get the feeling this will not end well. Maybe, just maybe R2 should leave the talking to 3PO and Luke. At least he wouldn't lose the moment of surprise. And now I want to see how the other players plan(s) go wrong. Now what do we know from the movies? Leia takes the helmet of her armor when she saves Han. Now if we assume the DM repeats the dangerous air bit from Bespin this could result in her falling victim to drugs in the air. "Han" is in trouble because the real Han owed Jabba Money if I recall correctly. And Luke murders Jabbas puppy in cold blood. I don't think the DM planned it the way it will happen. It wouldn't be surpising if he planned that they buy Han on the auction and then go and fight the Empire.

I think Pete ignored this so often that the DM and the other players just assume the beebs are translated if a translator (3PO/ the X-Wings Computer) is nearby. Even if it hurts the Pc, especially if it hurts them.

This would really explain Jabba correcting himself on all the anthropocentric comments.

My fissure specced druid agrees with an air of depression. Seriously, I had it boosted to like, level 25 at least, reached act 4 in hell difficulty, then suddenly everything was fire immune. /sobs.

What in the name of madness is that? Posting this without a warning is evil, not everyone there can afford the San damage.

The most evil thing the DM could do is that Jabba & Co are peaceful and only want to involve the heroes in their game as a punishment for messing with the auction. And then the good guys start to kill everyone.

And I did like the twist that the aliens are just humans in rubber suits... because that's what they were when filming the movies. Meta.

Jim is always the best part of the Comic. Telling the others he is in Los Angeles when Luke wonders where exactly Han is kept seems a bit more confused than usual but "Can I put some skill points in ventriloquism?" is a classic Jim.
