Well, Leia surely is quite harsh on Luke here... Really, what does she even want with a mostly inept Force User? She should exchange him for a proper fighter pilot.

So... how often do players engage in in-game romances? Like, ever? I've witnessed one player marrying an NPC and that's pretty much it, in my (not so long) gaming career. (a few one-night-stands not withstanding) I imagine it would always be weird to have an in-game romance unless the players in real life are an item as well.

My character in a one-shot Shadowrun campaign seduced a contact once (the party needed some data reconstructed and she was overcharging us), but that's all the romance I've witnessed first-hand in a game.

I've ran Changeling: the Lost campaign almost two years by now, and we've had some romance. Two PCs are engaged, and another PC has a relationship with NPC (which I play), and others have one-night-stands when they get really drunk. Nobody at the table is dating another player, but it has worked nicely. Sometimes we laugh about it and I blushed horribly at the beginning of PC/NPC-romance, but it's better now and it really adds depth to the game.

I think another player tried to flirt with my character in a PbP game once.. And I thought it was hilarious, especially since my character was the cool Ice Queen type. The game ended due to the DM disappearing before it got anywhere though.

On our table gaming group...hmm, the only real romance was between characters whose players were dating too, so I guess it was not that common.

Well, when I played Everquest, my character, (a human monk) was an unstoppable flirt. He had a large number of characteristics, for one thing, he had a massive library of love songs he would serenade the ladies with, his own personal them song, he would go into a rage if he saw a woman get hurt, and he had an extra special place in his heart for wood elf women. :p Most of the actual couples in game were together irl though. But there were a few "married" couples that werent involved outside the game.

*EDIT* My theme song was based off this Heh, my guy never took himself very seriously about his bragging.

    I just now realized something:

Han, as played by Jim, is not Han in A New Hope.

Han, as played by Jim, is Han in Return of the Jedi.

Just another case of Darths & Droids pulling a reversal of the films. I wonder if Jim'll character-develop him into a mercenary, callous antihero from the comic relief he is now.

On the subject of romance, my wife plays it incessantly in D&D, with me or with other players. I'm cool with it, and watching the other half of her current romance stammer awkwardly at trying to play something other than a well-armed hobo is always entertaining (even when it's me.)

Me, I tend toward one-night stands with NPCs. High Charisma characters, you know?

I think I need to make myself a bard now... Wait, I do have a bard. He needs a theme song next time I play him.

I don't expect Han to get more character development... He might, but I think in accordance with the theme of the strip he'll probably stay more comic relief than anything else. (Not that I oppose it if he develops.

So... what does Corey expect the fire fight will be like? Someone throwing paper planes and he needs to shoot them down irl? (Would be an interesting game mechanic, though) Then again, he has witnessed hardly any combat in game yet.

It's pretty sad Chewie and Yoda never get to meet again.

So, droid slaves! While I guess it can be an interesting aspect in a game it's not something I'd like to include. Same as I would not include a female Orc in a Dark Eye adventure... Okay, it's not quite the same but a serious discussion of politics in a game I play for my enjoyment...

So I'm leaning towards Airplane again as Jim's campaign- someone does get stabbed in the back early on chronologically, in the bar scene.

Airplane makes PERFECT sense for Jim's campaign. Heck they could almost do the movie script verbatim and it would still be spot on.

That would mean, all those food poisoned people were current GM's characters (do we know his name?). I'd also venture a guess, that Dr. Rumack was a DMPC in such a situation.

It's interesting to me how they had Luke Adam be the only one to kill the TIE's, as opposed to Han Greedo.

Huh? Did I miss a joke? It wasn't bad but... it wasn't that funny.

Though, the idea of a haibtable moon is quite fascinating if only because you'd have a hell of a time trying to get into a proper day rythm.

Y'all are really not aware of the dialect of Spanish in Spain that differs from others in using "th" in place of "s"?

Edit: Ah, something in 'Pedia that at least mentions it:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castilian_Spanish
The most striking difference between dialects in central and northern Spain and Latin American Spanish is distinción (distinction), that is, the pronunciation of the letter z before all vowels, and of c only for e and i, as a voiceless dental fricative /θ/, English th in thing. Thus, in most variations of Spanish from Spain, cinco (five) is pronounced /ˈθiŋko/ as opposed to /ˈsiŋko/ in American Spanish, and similarly for zapato, cerdo, zorro, Zurbarán.

Nope, not really, completely unaware of that. You're lucky I remember any español at all, I got in trouble constantly because I could not roll my r's.
