We went for a short vacation to our country farm over the midsummer weekend, and I managed to stick to enough film to actually make sorting through them worthwhile:

... fondling a lupin? And looking really derpy about it? Yeah, I suppose that's actually what I'm doing (I really love lupins)...

Lunch in front of the house gable. Little brother looks like he's about to challenge littlest brother to a brawl. I'm too cool for such lowly activites.

Apparently, something was very funny here.

No vacation is complete without a good old gun.

A Bofors 10.5 cm Howitzer, to be precise.

Me and littlest brother inspecting curious rock formations. Running water is awesome...

... and fun to play with...

... and highly scenic too.

What the album was completely devoid of, however, was any pictures of me going medieval on the garden with scythe and rake, which actually is what I spent most of my time doing. Neither did I wear my fleece jacket all the time like in the pictures. I mean, I even spent some time without shirt altogether because gardening was such an exertion...

Thank you. That does seem to be the general consensus from those who don't avert their eyes, gibber in terror, or get turned into jelly. They aren't really visible in this shot, but I apparently have the legs for it, too.

Breaks up the aesthetics of legs and can be a visual distraction from the rest of an ensemble when the armpit hair refuses to stay in the armpit, though mostly it's just acculturation and taboo. That and something about dresses leads to the expectation that even putting a man in one will involve some form of depillation or shaving. Also, on a more practical level, it gets stuck in your teeth something awful...:P

I normally can't stand the things but they seemed to work here. And they're the only things I can really wear over my glasses anyway.

It's the confidence. Most people can wear most anything and look fine if they project an attitude of "not only is there nothing strange about this, but no thought that there might be has ever crossed my mind, nor should it cross yours" hard enough.

Tell that to the gun. I'd have usen millimeters, but the manifacturers had stamped it with centimeters, so I went with centimeters. Plus, it's more Germano-Nordic that way.
