I've had it on launch date as well, and I got 24 in the first day of release. After beating the Elite Four I just got other things to do, so I didn't focus AS MUCH on the game. Keep in mind I ALSO played the other version to the same amount of time as well, so technically, all combined I likely played for more then 100 hours before today.

Yeah, now I can take the Friday off and go north for the weekend. It'll probably rain on me, but whatever, for as long as it'll let me think about something else than school for a while.

Most of my classmates might not share this opinion with me, but when I can throw together a conceptual calculator based on context free grammar in ¨5-10 minutes (ignoring the time spent reading the instructions), I'd say that I have the right to call it so.

There is, but you need to go through half of the game and have a lucky day if you are to find any (unless I'm mistaken, in which case you have to beat Elite Four first. Also, it might just give you a Pichu, which you then have to evolve).

How is it lame? I found it actually really quite fun. At least, until my starter died. I haven't managed to bring myself to continue after that yet.

Also, I'm pretty sure that from an artistic, a technological, and a game theoretic point of view, the other games are objectively better than Red and Blue, and from a narrative point of view, well, we have Fire Red and Leaf Green.
