Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
Nidalee because it's like 6 champs in one.
Support cat.
Support human.
Mid Cat.
Mid Human.
Top Cat.
Top Human.
Even before you get into AD vs AP vs Bruiser Nidalee.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
Nid is fun but hard to master.
Gragas is super awesome because A) he is melee B) he looks like a bruiser C) he plays like a mage. Gragas is one of the few mages I feel comfortable playing.
Also: expect lots of nid FOTM now that Stanley has shown the world she's still good.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
I don't think that anyone ever thought that bruiser Nid was bad, and Bischu (suuuuch a cutie) and Scarra have caused a super awesome albeit somewhat small resurgence of AP Nidalee. More accurately, AP Midalee.
Though Support Nid and ADC Nid aren't very good at all.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
Well, that puts Nidalee to 6 votes so it seems like she'll be the next champ I get.
Interesting fact, now that I'm thinking about it, I've never actually played nidalee ever, which is weird because I've played most champs atleast once when they were free, but never nidalee. I know she can go ad top for lolz or AP (THE SPEAR!) but other than that, I really don't know anything about her. Anyone want to give me some build advice?

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
I never really played Nidalee either. I just tried her on the PBE and she's pretty cool.
Also, I wouldn't underestimate her heal, TBH. Get some good AP and the infinite mana that is Chalice + Blue and you've got what amounts to a "what's going back to base?"

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
When going AP you can do two things. Tanky AP or Orbital Spear Cannon aka "Rods from God" build.
Tanky AP goes the general tanky ap build of Chalice, Abysall, Zhonyas and spends most of her time in cougar form trying to flank the squishes (Not the easiest play style or laning phase)
Rods from God goes pure glass cannon AP style but you still want a chalice to keep your mana up and make laning easier (assuming you are middle). This is the easiest build because all it requires is you the throw out your Q and hope it hits and watch the enemy lose 40-50% hp.
When going AD top the main goal is HARASS!!! Get AD and ArmPen runes and ruin the day of any melee range champions. Start boots +3 and on first back try to get 2 doran's blades. Between your passive, AutoAttacks and your heal, you can usually win any exchanges and after 6 you WILL win exchanges.
Biggest problem with AD nidalee is she falls off HARD late game and is usually best at baiting people to chase her and cleaning up teamfights of running enemies.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
People make this mistake a lot, and I think it's something that should be clarified. There is a big distinction between "bad in team fights" and "falls off". AD Nidalee is a very mediocre team fighter, except as you mentioned at cleaning people up. But she's very very strong in 1v1's at all stages of the game, and can't be caught, so if she just split pushes her "late game" is amongst the best.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
Is it just me, or would Nashor's Tooth be a pretty good item on Lulu? Aspd for the passive, CDR and AP for everything else.
Because really, if your passive can be better used when you give it to an ally that doesn't seem too good.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
So, finally tried out nidalee for the first time in my life and wow. I can see why people like her, but I found her cat form awkward to use, though I think that'll become better with time and practice. And I finally understand what her q in cat form did. So this was a good buy, thanks guys!
See you guys when I have the next 3150 IP for the next champ.

So... Zyra is definitely one of my favorite supports now, though I think it'll be a while before I try it when paired with a pub.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
Yuck. Played a game of 3v3, remembered why I have such a love-hate relationship with it. Enemy team of Darius, Mundo, Kha'Zix. We were Brand/Vayne/Lulu. Held up for a long time, but we just couldn't crack them. Darius...

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
Basically, the issue with Nashor's on Lulu is the same as the issue with Nashor's on everyone: the melange of stats it gives doesn't scale together well enough to be worth the squishiness of the item, and the playstyles of AS and AP don't hybridize well. If you play onhit Lulu, you're better off with strictly onhit items like Wit's, Mallet/Trinity, Spark, MBR, and the like. If you play AP Lulu, you're better off with strictly AP items.

Re: League of Legends XXXVIII: Featuring Mumble, The Giant Halibut
Just caught up on 6 pages of posts. So happy that TPA won! They are an awesome and humble team :) Toyz and Stanley my role models now.
Just a comment on starting boots+3: I start this in order to support/init ganks. On heavy ganking junglers like Diana, Shaco and ALISTAR, boots is a must. In fact on these I usually run MS masteries, MS quints and on Ali, the "Initiator" mastery on the Defence tree.
You don't need to be fast in the jungle, you need to be fast when ganking or escaping, considering almost every laner starts Boots+3.

Wow, I'm not aware of individual names on the league forums, but Iaw definitely made some very good points.
