Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
Don't forget Fiora(jungle, perhaps, or mid, if Kat goes bot?); her E(burst of speed) resets on kills, and reduces the cooldown by 50% on assists. Are there any supports that have a cooldown reset on kills/assists, or maybe a double-bruiser bot lane(or whoever else has a cooldown reset on kills)?
Also, if you want to make the most of Yi's cooldown reset, send him mid as AP, and maybe Kat top? This helps balance out the AD/AP on the team, as well.

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
Three more "Guess That Counter", for your speculative pleasure!
Anivia vs Kog'Maw (this was random'd)
Malphite vs Skarner (mineral wars!)
Janna vs Katarina (suggested by Thrantar)

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
Anivia, unless the Kog'Maw is very good at dodging. He sits still during his ability animations, and to get the full damage off of his attacks, he also needs to stand still.
I think kog'maw would zone her out with constant damage if she didn't have access to blue.
Is Janna AP? If that's the case, Janna would win here. She has some strong AP damage, can shield when kat goes in, and can easily interrupt katarina's ult the moment it happens.Last edited by Forrestfire; 2012-10-24 at 09:06 AM.

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
Anivia, but only if she gets a regular blue, otherwise Kog would just outharass her with long range AA and regular aa since without blue, anivia can't dps enough early game.
By the time max range(or out of range for kog anyway) stun from Anivia has landed and she's in range for E, Kog can already fire back and isn't slowed anymore.
Malphite if he gets blue, he would win in kills, but not in cs. Otherwise Skarner.
And Katerina.

I should specify that these matches are on Proving Grounds, between Carter and myself (both sub-30 summoners). So, no blue, no ganks.

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
Well, Anivia obviously wins but I don't know how good an Anivia we're talking about. I could see Kog'Maw having the autoattacker's edge. Still, I must go with Anivia out of principle.
Janna beats Kat.
Malphite should beat Skarner but Skarner's low CD shield can be a thing if Malphite misbuilds. Hm. Hard to call. I'll go with Malph.Last edited by Eldariel; 2012-10-24 at 08:39 AM.

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
His Kog beat me as Aniva, this was also a random choice match. I own Aniva, but that was my first game with her.. It was fun, and Aniva Q+E did manage to kill him a few times.
He killed me a few times in the early game as Skarner, and managed to maintain a higher CS til near the end of the game. However, I had gold from a stone and HoG and was able to outbuild him and then win the game.
Janna just sorta killed Kat. Her shield absorbed my entire ult. And I was building AP. I would open an entire burst on her, at which time her shield would absorb the worst of it and then she'd fling me back and kite me until shunpo was ready to use again. She won quite easily.DnD Me

Time to play.... GUESS THOSE LANES!
To win, you need to simply correctly guess who went to which lane, and who had which role in the current meta-game.Last edited by ZeroNumerous; 2012-10-24 at 03:45 PM.

Could you put that on spoilers? It's stretching the screen quite a bit.

I'm gonna say: Jungle Teemo, AP Shaco Mid, Support Xin bot with Bruiser Annie, and then Tank Riven top.
Also: Yes, please spoiler that image.

Get better moniters, the lot of you.
No.
Haha no.
The correct answers is: Jungle Teemo, AD Carry Shaco who switched to AP because we needed magic damage, AP Support Xin Zhao, with Bruiser Annie top and Tank Riven mid.

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
Because a PC can be upgraded incrementally instead of replaced entirely. Because a PC doesn't burn itself out in a few years due to overheating problems. Because you can't drop a PC unless you're screwing around. There's a multitude of reasons to use them over laptops, not the least of which is an acceptably sized screen.
I'm sorry to hear that, but I assure you it's all in fun.

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
I'm glad that that's the case then.
As for upgrading... such a thing doesn't bother me. My laptop is decent enough for what I need it for, I have a portable USB fan to help with any overheating that occurs, I'm okay with a smaller screen to be honest (I've been using a laptop for so long now that a larger screen would likely feel too big for me), and it's small enough that going home for a weekend on the train doesn't mean I have to leave it behind. To put it simply, a smaller (albeit admittedly less powerful in some respects) machine suits me fine since size and portability are more important constraints for me right now.
I'm inclined to agree with you there. But I'd argue that yours ALSO beats the lights out of the PCs of most LoL players.

Re: League of Legends XXXIX: Harrowing in the Playground
I have a laptop security cable.
Also, it's a new model thinkpad with extended warranty. It was designed to get thrown around by luggage monkeys at airports and come out working.
Also, Zero, a good laptop won't burn out in a few years due to overheating. May I suggest a Lenovo?I'm mostly here for Warframe and a tiny bit of RWBY.
