"Umm...To stuff like weapons? Very, unless you're just bashing them. They don't have blood or organs, so...Stuff like cutting or poking doesn't do much good, and they'll seem more durable than they are."

Her brow furrowed. Tweedle mostly bit things, which wouldn't do well here.

"You use a lance, right? A big pokey-stick?"

[Lycan 01]

Godwyn holds up his talons, pops his knuckles, and smiles wryly. "I think I shall be fine. Worst case scenario, I shall simply beat them with my shield. Repeatedly."

[Deme]

"Oh. Ok...Ummm...I could enchant up a big stick, if you like... Probably."

Foxglove said after giving the matter of the best weapon some thought.

"We'd just need to find a big stick, and I could make it hit as hard as a *really* big stick....Oh. Wait. That only works if it's my stick. Umm...I haven't really thought about magic today yet, so if anyone's got any good ideas, I could see what I could do..."

[Lycan 01]

Godwyn ponders. "Healing magic would be prudent, in case we run into more trouble than we can easily deal with. Something to make me stronger and hit harder, if possible. And the 'big stick' spell might be a good idea, so you can defend yourself if a Timberwolf tries to get you. Miss Gearstride?" The Paladin turns to his other companion. "Do you have any suggestions, or magics of your own which you could use in this endeavor?"

He flexes his talons a bit. "I myself have a few... abilities. I'm not sure if 'spells' would be entirely accurate. But I can heal the wounded, at least, should such a need arise..." He shifts a bit, looking slightly... uncomfortable? It seems the Paladin doesn't like to talk about his 'magics' or whatever they may be.

[Benson]

"I have my explosives.frankly, I think that's all we'll need," She answered with a confident grin.

[Mystic Muse]

"I don't have much I can do, but some of my magic might be useful against the timberwolves. Or I could just stay out of your way while you do whatever you think is best." Silent Night says.

[Deme]

"...No, it might be good to help out..."

Foxglove thought about it. She probably wanted to bring a bit of magic that could do damage directly, but the rest of it...It sounded like mostly the standard stuff.

"I'll think about it; it might take me a while to get ready."

[Lycan 01]

Godwyn gives a cheery smile. "I am sure we will be able to work together quite effectively. I doubt we'll run into too much trouble."

He then gives a look around the table. "Well, if Miss Foxglove needs a bit of time to prepare, I believe I shall make a quick flight down to the local market, and attempt to gather a few things. I should not be gone for too long."

Assuming no one protests or asks to tag along, Godwyn says his goodbyes for the time beging, before heading back up to his room to fetch his lance. He'll then head on down to the market place, an eye out for any good deals or ponies in distress...

[Benson]

"I'll be heading down to the market too....need to get me some fresh alchemical supplies, among other things," Gearstride replied with a small smile and nod of her head. She too would then leave and head for the markets herself.

[Mystic Muse]

The trip to the markets is really uneventful. They might get to say "Hi" to the troll fashionista in their trip, but other than that, nothing of significance. Gearstride will find her ingredients just fine, and if Godwyn wishes to trade his lance in, he'll be able to trade it in for just about anything.

After that, the group is on the road! Looks like the first thing they'll be walking through is the nearby forest.

"The forest is the quickest way through, and I don't think there's anything in there that would present any sort of threat to us..." Silent Night says.

[Lycan 01]

Godwyn returns without a lance! He rejoins the party with his same solemn expression, idly hovering a few feet off the ground as he straps his shield onto his left arm. "I am prepared to depart. Miss Foxglove, would you like me to scout ahead, or do you feel you'd know and recognize potential dangers better yourself?"

[Benson]

Gearstride also gained herself some villager hearts in a manner of speaking, wink wink swoon.

"Well I'm a-ready, just say the word my loves~." She told the two.

[Deme]

"....Um, well...I think I can manage."

She'd spent the market time meditating on trees and meditating on trees. She was ready -- well, she thought she was. She never felt she had good options when buildings were involved.

Still, she headed into the woods first, with Tweedle alone ahead of her.

[Mystic Muse]

The group makes their way through the Weeping Woods, called such not because of any sorrowful tale, but because of the rather abundant population of Willows. Nothing much is occurring. There's the occasional curious animal getting a glimpse at the party, though many choose to stay far away. Every once in a while, a daring bird might attempt to land on Foxglove.

A fair way into their travels, they hear a very large, very loud, whining Squawk. Foxglove would likely know no bird in these forests was big enough to make that sound. Godwyn would likely recognize it as the cry of a young griffin.

[Lycan 01]

Godwyn immediately tenses, and begins to look around through narrowed eyes. "Strange. That was the call of a baby griffon. Either a hatchling has somehow managed to find itself lost in a strange land far from its own kind, or something is attempting to trick us," he observes, trying to locate the source of the cry.

Foxglove looks about, a worried expression on her face.

"Foxglove, could you...? I'll help, too."



Foxglove closed her eyes and focused in on...The feeling of a baby, lost and alone. A helpess child. Like Foxglove and Tweedle. Like Foxglove herself. Thinking of that, deep in her heart...The worry and loneliness hurt a bit.
But when she sang a comforting, soothing little song, to try and draw a reaction that would help her friends, or just inspire them... She knew it was better for that hurt.

The little fox jumped off of her back and begins listening to hone in on the source of the crying sound.

"What in the farts...." Gearstride found herself brought out of her little world of...whatever goes on in her mind during long walking sessions. "Ya'll hear that right?" Her ears turned in that way horses' ears do.

The griffin youngling cries out.

"Ma-ma! Da-Da!"

Poor thing appears to have lost its parents.

[Lycan 01]

Godwyn flaps his wings to ascend over the scene, raising his shield and flexing his talons as he looks around warily. "Foxglove, Gearstride, to to the chick," the Paladin firmly states. "I will keep guard, in case this is some sort of trap. Be careful."

[Deme]

Well, the Foxglove he was calling wasn't there, but that's what empathetic links are for.

Foxglove came galloping in a moment later.
"Oh, poor baby..."

She went up to the baby griffon and nuzzled him.

"Which way were your parents going?...Did they go up?"

She added, her voice dropping a bit, with a little hint of sadness.
She wondered, briefly, if Griffons also tended to view heaven as up. But whatever.

[Benson]

"That's sugar high inducing cute...well and sad too..but...dang...its cute...I'mma gush...don't mind me," Gearstride rambled as she followed Foxglove the pony.

She then activated her magic...allowing...legbrace-band..thing and conjured a squishy musical note. Particularly a quaver note and had it hover bounce whimsically around the baby griffon using mage hoof.

She went up to the baby griffon and nuzzled him.

"Iunno. I got lost." The baby griffin says, crying. It gives another cry of dismay. "Where mommy and daddy?" she asks.

The Griffin calmed down a bit, soothed by the muzak.

Godwyn continues to hover up in the sky, vigilantly scanning the surroundings for clues or potential threats.

"We'll find them, don't worry. Do you remember where you were the last time you saw them? What the place looked like?"

Foxglove asked, looking for any clue in the somewhat questionable memory of a toddler.

Well, Gearstride just kept up with the bouncing musical note as she waited for the griffon baby to answer Foxglove.

[Mystic Muse]

Well, there went that idea.

"We'll find them, don't worry. Do you remember where you were the last time you saw them? What the place looked like?"

Foxglove asked, looking for any clue in the somewhat questionable memory of a toddler.

"Alls I can remember is lotsa twees." the baby griffin says. "...I tink they were dat way?" he points Northeast questioningly.

[Lycan 01]

Godwyn looks at the others questioningly. "Shall I fly that direction, and see who or what I can spot?"

[Deme]

"A lot of trees...Gosh, I hope they weren't in the forest. It'd be hard to spot that, with all these trees."

Foxglove crinkled her muzzle, but gave Godwin a nod.

"If it's the best clue we have, that's the clue there is....Oh.
Wait.
What's your name?"

Foxglove asked the baby.

[Benson]

Gearstride is passing her turn and will continue to do so and just play the role of the observer for now.

[Mystic Muse]

"A lot of trees...Gosh, I hope they weren't in the forest. It'd be hard to spot that, with all these trees."

Foxglove crinkled her muzzle, but gave Godwin a nod.

"If it's the best clue we have, that's the clue there is....Oh.

What's your name?"

Foxglove asked the baby.

"Ge-Geoffrey." The griffin baby manages to spit out.

Godwyn looks at the others questioningly. "Shall I fly that direction, and see who or what I can spot?"

"Y-you can fly?" the widdle griffin asks.
