Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
Since we're not getting a chapter till next week, look at what I made
Spoiler
I'll admit for some of the slots the quotes were so easy to find, for other not so much and yet for others there were so many it was hard to chose just one so I went with the ones I liked or the ones which were easier to find.

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
The part that really annoyed me about him was how (at least in the anime, don't know about the manga) he was facing dozens upon dozens of trained ninja, told them explicitly that he was using genjutsu and the him they could see was fake, and all they did was keep attacking the visible illusion over and over again. Yes, these were all nameless mook ninja, but the sheer scale of stupidity and fundamental failure of training required for that scene to work is absurd. It shouldn't take a Kage to figure out that beating visual illusions requires a search with non-visual senses/methods, especially after the 6th or 7th time he tells you "that was an illusion, dumbass" when everything goes right through to no effect.

More perturbed but yes. With a dash of disappointed until Garaa and the others get involved, at which point he gets serious and breaks out the exploding boy. Yeah he managed to defeat an entire force of ninja through their own incompetence, while shouting out exactly what to do, by exhaustion.

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
With them constantly complaining the he's "just too powerful".
The character is fine, but the sheer magnitude of incompetence on the part of his mook opponents strains believability to the breaking point. That sequence would have worked much better with them beginning a search for the invisible giant clam after the first or second failed mass attack. They could still fail, but having the failure be because of their search techniques being too obvious (giving him notice to move the clam every time they get close) would be a much more reasonable failure, and there would be great potential for him creatively mocking their methods.Like 4X (aka Civilization-like) gaming? Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
After giving it some thought, I feel like it's not really that bad a situation.
Question: The illusion master who you're fighting tells you exactly how to defeat him. Do you trust him?

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
Ah, but Zodiac has a point. How would they know what his true intentions are? Can they be sure he really does not want to kill them if his actions say otherwise? Attacking illusions is stupid but it was... not the best but "a" plan of action. And since ninja in Naruto have the same ammo limit as Solid Snake with his bandana why bother to stop shooting?

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
Oh, sure, then how could they be sure of the true intentions of the Fourth Kazekage? The Second Tsuchikage? How about Dan, Asuma, Itachi, Nagato, and all the other zombie shinobi who called out their strategies?
Oh, right, because their mouths are independent from their bodies.
Their actions are not theirs to control. Their words are. To disregard the advice of a zombie shinobi who wants to die again is foolish to the supreme, and the Second Mizukage is one of those shinobi.
He says, and I quote, "Anyway, we can't control our own bodies. We're on autopilot to react to enemy techniques. Hurry up and kill us so we can rest. We'll tell you weak points and all our powers." All the other Kage respond in exactly the same way, and confess all the information on their abilities.
So, sure, you can try to trick yourself into believing that the Second Mizukage isn't trustworthy. But it's self-delusion. Everything he says is completely contradictory to the idea that he was ever lying about his abilities, and all evidence supports the idea that he was actively trying to help his "enemies" kill him.Last edited by ZeroNumerous; 2013-03-18 at 06:23 AM.

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
So what would make you sure it's not some elaborate plan to trick you? Would you really trust me just because he says so?
Putting aside the fact how little sense it makes to be unable to control your body but not your mouth if a zombie was trying to kill me and I had to choose between just shooting at him because I have nothing better to do or not do anything I would certainly not stop shooting (if it does no harm to my combat abilities)

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
Sure, lets put aside the way the technique works, then leap to wild conclusions that fly in the face of how the technique works. You know, the technique animating said zombie? The technique you know about, and know exactly how it works? The one that you've encountered before, and have detailed information about?
Because, you know, they have that. They've experienced the technique before. They know for a fact that the zombies bodies act independently of their will.
But okay, lets put aside that.
The Second Mizukage never tries to kill anybody. We see him later surrounded by a bunch of bodies, but no blood is shown and he has no weapons in hand. While it's possible that he killed everyone it's rather unlikely that he did so with just his bare hands, and there would definitely be blood around them.
In short: Your argument has a faulty premise, because it presupposes that the ninja blatantly disregard knowledge they already have concerning the technique animating the zombies.
It further stands on shaky ground concerning whether the Second Mizukage ever actually kills anyone, because the only person he actively tries to kill is the Third Tsuchikage.
Finally, the argument is just plain ludicrous. Throwing things at a mirage instead of moving around trying to catch the giant clam in the act? Because you have nothing better to do? That's just silly.

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
The issue becomes maybe for the first few times you don't listen to him. But after not listen to him gets you just as nowhere as no tactics maybe start listening. Or maybe start applying tactics like everybody stop standing in a line and throwing at the exact same point.

Re: Naruto V: Eye See Your Sharingan and Raise You a Rinnegan
There were plenty of zombie shinobi who wanted to fight all-out against their old enemies, and the Second Mizukage could have been lying against those of the villages he hated during his lifetime.
For a moment I also thought the Third Raikage wanted to die, but didn't help the Alliance beat him, but I remembered wrong: he did try to help, but he just didn't know the real weakness of his own techniques.Homebrewer's Signature | Avatar by Strawberries
