I am not a member of reddit. I've actually never been there before and honestly can't tell whats going on. Could someone please pass my hope (and hugs) for him on for me?

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
@ Serps - Reddit is a bigger cesspit than 4chan - full of bigotry of all stripes (see the recent "violentacrez" fiasco [warning: prettymuch every trigger you can imagine]) - 4chan at least doesn't try to hide or explain away its abhorrent behaviour like Reddit does.
Ok, Reddit does have some great people and areas, but I find it hard to reconcile the attitude of supporting a site that allows the linked stuff above (they gave Violentacrez an award for his jailbait thread for crying out loaud) regardless of whatever other good it may do.Last edited by Zorg; 2012-11-25 at 08:32 AM.

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
That's awesome! If I had some issue like that, I'd call on some of my aunts too. One of them in particular really helped when I was being bullied.
It's very different, because people choose to be police officers, they don't choose to be their race or ethnicity, or their gender or sexuality. However, I still disagree with a blanket hate for a profession.
My attitude is like in D&D. My usual starting attitude towards a random person is friendly or indifferent. If we have an interaction, they have a chance of changing my attitude for better or for worse. If they're some relevant professional (I'm reporting a crime and they're a police officer, I'm building a bridge and they're an engineer, I'm seeking medical advice and they're a doctor) they get an automatic bonus, because I assume in order for them to hold that job, they must have background, training, some degree of interest, some desire to do well at this. But they could still negate that bonus by being a total tool. That doesn't affect my interaction with the next one I meet, though, unless I start to notice a trend. ("Every firefighter I meet has said something racist, I'm going to apply a general -1 penalty to firefighters because I'm suspiscious." That's an obviously made-up example.)

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
I think I've read something about something like that before, but it's not in the DSM-IV as far as a quick skim tells me.
I don't like Reddit (see other peoples' comments about why) and don't have an account, so could you tell me how to go about sending him a message?

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
I am afraid I am not a member of Reddit either. If anyone wish to send along my hopes and best wishes, please do so. That is incredibly sad. ;_;
I-but... Logic not found. What? @_8
That makes absolutely no sense. Sexism refers to discriminating based on sex or gender, to base the evaluation of a person's personality on gender rather than on what they do or say. How does that translate to transsexism=accepting others' identities? Because it is based on the fact that transsexuality exists?
Is this the kind of people who think racism is when you do not insist on calling someone X-American* if they just identify as American? I think my brain is hurt. >_<

Sorry to hear that things are so bad, I hope it will be much improved post-solstice.
See you again then, Asta! ^_^
I remember reading that. It is a very very scary thing to know, that people are actually supporting that.
I-I think I will be hiding a bit until I can think again. Eep. ._.Treasured Quotes

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
There lies the first misunderstanding then. To me it seemed like she was responding to everyone after her initial question to Nope, and not specifically you (even if she said it right after you), so you bringing the point back up in response was confusing for me.
Also, you're on: what coin? I suggest art. Single picture within reasonable bounds, han drawn. Deal?

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
Good luck with that, Asta. I don't think temp bans are an option here though. I tried to get temp banned some years ago to help me concentrate on my a levels, and if memory serves I was told that if I wanted to be banned it would be permanent. Not only that, but they wouldn't even put a note on it saying I'd been banned by request, so any new account I made would be autobanned if they found it was me.

I know >.<
This is just the way my teacher taught me...
I was bad for them, but it was resolved, luckily.
I'm cool about the drinking, I didn't even feel that bad, but I don't want to repeat it again.
Spoiler
In hindsight, 2 liters beer + 6 shots of vodka + ritalin (which doubles the alcohol's effect) wasn't such a smart move. It seems my infinite tolerance for alcohol isn't that infinite after all.

Well... Info on the subject is scarce, but this is a post by one someone who was diagnosed as PTSD. Back then they didn't know as much about it, as they do now. This was the story they showed me to ask me if I felt the same way:

Actually, it's two pleonasms xD
saw --- eyes, is a pleonasm, like you said, but my own is a pleonasm too.
Well, looking at the situation in Ecuador (I lived there), I'd say people are really not complacent, and even so, the police is really corrupt.
Furthermore, I would say that distrusting the police is actually very good, like you said. Even so, I feel you should respect authorities.
Distrusting is not the exact opposite of Respecting.
Yeah. Hence my bad memories from that moment.
Normally, I would be able to evade the question, but they now knew I did that, and were thus able to get the truth out of everything. Luckily, they are my friends, so they didn't go too personal. Just some things I thought of them I had preferrably kept to myself.
I had me diagnosed, but it's not Aspergers. Besides, not every Asperger's has that trait.
And it isn't really a discomfort, as an obsession.
It's like with OCD, or severe Autism, when you forget to wash your hands 5 times, or eat something red, even though that's the 'bad' color. I don't die from it, but I do get myself a panic attack out of lying.
I am completely comfortable talking about it, don't worry. The written word protects me ^^
Send him my support, as I don't have a Reddit account.

Head explode. Yeah, just ... I don't go to reddit.
I'll miss you, Asta. Email me if you want a card. SAD is tough, go for walks during daylight if you can.
For you and Asta both; temp-banning seems excessively complicated. Why not just have someone change your password, if you can't trust yourself to just not come visit? No account shenanigans required. Or tell your browser you don't want to go to gitp.

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
The password route is how I went about it when I temp banned myself from Giantitp. I made a stupidly large password of random numbers and letters, saved it into a document, and set my password. The fact of having to go to the document to get the password meant it helped keep me off of Giantitp and kept me on my work.

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
Oh, I know. I was just making a note that it was slightly similar, though probably very different too. Sorry if it was confusing or seemed like I was calling the two the same. ^_^'
Well aware that not everybody has it, I just happen to have it and wanted to mention it. I show far from all of the common traits myself.
Eep, that does not sound fun. Hopefully people do not try to make that happen. I would be pretty scared if people knew how to panic me and tried to do so. ._.

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
Astonishingly beautiful story about a young woman going to find her birth mother in Korea and coming out to her as trans, and the mother helping her to accept herself, by being an amazing person. Warning, so beautiful and touching it's likely to make you cry. I'm amazed by this woman's "mother's intuition" and willingness to accept her child after having lost her for so many years.

Is this a deontologist I see before me?
Here's a fun philosophical game about lies - do you agree with Aristotle, Kant or Bentham? Three of the really great philosophers, each with his view on lying and when it is justified.
Edit: And thanks for all the well-wishes. This isn't dangerous, like in February. This is a severe nuisance which comes when the days get shorter and disappears when they get longer. See ya in January!Last edited by Asta Kask; 2012-11-25 at 03:39 PM.

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
That's... What? No, if anything it would be ... No, wait... No we just call that not being a ****.
Ow >_<
If you think it's best, friend. We'll be here for you, and if you need to talk, or want to talk, I'm pretty certain you can give any of us a shout. Ikmow personally, I get the most down when I, for example, get into an argument or something with a group of friends, and that group is the only one I can currently go to for getting my mind of things. It really isolates me, and it's terrible. So if you want a chat with friends that's less topical, feel free!
mmm. Okay, that does make sense. I honestly hadn't considered that, given the phrasing and the timing. Which is unfortunate as I am guilty of it myself sometimes. Sorry.
Again... I don't think I quite follow. I'm not on any coin that I'm aware of... If you just mean "what's your favorite coin?" this one is 1800 hundred years old and has a meteorite on its back.

Re: LGBTAitP #28: Come Taste the Rainbow!
Forgot to mention: It's partly because I don't want to be banned, but even if I managed to avoid that I'd probably hurt some of the people on this board. And that's something I'd rather avoid.

And good luck, until February!
Beautiful story. Not tear-welling, but still beautiful.
No, not confusing at all, just thought I had to write clearly.
They can't forse me to panic, btw, I'd just go down into a full non-communication approach.
"Did you love this person, or this person, or this person?"
Silence.
It's that simple sometimes xD

I really hope I'm not coming off like I'm upset or offended. There's no need to apologize for anything.
Well, it's simple me bucko. You gave odds, I said you're on.
