I have a brilliant idea. Let's get WB to fire Goyer form being the dude in charge of all there comic book property adaptations, and put Yale in Charge instead.

If we act fast we might get a superman/batman movie worth seeing still!

I think Flash's wink is "yeah, I just sabotaged this mission" because I'm getting the impression Sinestro is the kind of guy who would say he didn't see any Bigfoot at all just to spite Green Lantern....
I'm also on discord as "raziere".

MLP references have been popping up throughout the comics, so this isn't exactly a first.

Not a first at all, but fun for me all the same. Particularly since there fairly consistent and not just a one off thing, like "oh, it was here for a minute and then we totally forgot about it and never spoke of it again."

That said, yes, wonderfully fitting given the ages involved. And the particular motivator Bruce used to finally perk Karen interest. XD!

I think it's more she's annoyed that he had the butler call her just to put her on hold while the butler hands the phone off too him instead of doing the normal thing and calling her himself and just waiting a second for her to come to the phone.

Remember, she thinks he's kinda weird and it bugs her a bit, but she still want's to explore these new found feelings with him. While riding a horse. No, not innuendo, get your head out of the gutter!

He's big-timing her - "I'm so important, I have someone call my girlfriend for me, and make her wait for me." Bad move, although Bruce Wayne might be able to pull it off.

Agreed that it's a bad move, but is he trying to big-time her, or does he just treat everyone this way without thinking about it, child of privilege that he is?

I'd think it's just SOP. "Alfred, get <whomever> on the phone for me." "Yes, master Wayne."

Heh, I recall an anecdote about Eisenhower. Supposedly he had no idea about phone numbers because as an officer and later president he never placed a phone call himself once phone numbers were in use until after he his presidency.

So, random thought. I recall when DC did the return of Bruce Wayne story arc that one of the justice league members at the time was "Sasquatch.".

Who thinks he might show up in some capacity during the GL's hunt for Bigfoot?

Been wondering ... is there any overlap between fans of this comic and those of Strong Female Protagonist? (Link is to the thread in the forums here rather than the comic itself, because I think the thread does a better job of describing the comic than the tiny blurb on the webpage.)

I'm not a follower of superhero comics myself, and I opened up the SFP thread not knowing that it was about superheroes. I'm really enjoying that as well as JL8, although they're very different takes on the genre.
I'm pretty much the opposite of concise. If I fail to get to the point, please ask me and I'm happy to (attempt to) clarify.

Never checked it out, personally. I suppose I have a free bit of time now, though...

    Edit: Well, that was good.

I read both, but then again I'm inclined to at least try any online comics that are super-hero-ish. So I also read stuff like Dynagirl, Supernormal Step, League of Super Redudant Heroes, Wonder Momo (that one ended, though), Onepunch-Man, Non-Adventures of Wonderella and so on. It is also how I wasted my time trying out Star Power, which has its own thread in this forum, mostly dedicated to mocking how bad it is.

I've readed the first 100 comics yesterday evening and I'm having a hard time not reading the others right now at work :(
Took a JL8 wallpaper with Clark on it though.

Very nice webcomic, I love the art, I love the reference (oooh, cute Neil Gaiman!), I love the kids attitude.

About the references, I very like some more or less subtle references like the mad bomber episode of gray ghost and Jekko the clown which I both know from The Animated Series.

    Many thanks for this discover!

This page makes it clear how much growing up Hal has to do. His heart is in the right place, and it's great to be interested in Mars, but he's close to treating J'onn like a novelty--more "my Martian friend" than "my friend."

When Sinestro says that Mars is "simply another place to come from," he's right, and his analogy to Asia is a good one. Many are the young Asian-Americans that put up with stuff like ("Whoah, you're Asian! Are you Chinese or Japanese? Are you a karate master? Your philosophy is so much more spiritual than ours. You must write haiku. Do you speak Asian?") etc etc.

Of course, Sinestro says all this to put down Hal & J'onn, not to point out Hal's problematic behavior, but he touches on something important.

Also, this page raises some questions about the status of Aliens on Earth. What doe Sinestro think about his own origins? How wide-spread is knowledge of Clark's ancestry? And so on.

Oh, you mean in this particular comic? Blargh.

[Although thinking about some DC continuities, Lex made a point of Supes' illegal immigrant status, so to speak. And somehow the line of thought of why should all the supers end up either as heroes or villains led to some of the "good guys" being more like Cop Cartman (Respect my Authorahtay!) than Supes. Just thought I'd share that image.]

Yeah, Luthor would do that. "Superman isn't one of us" is right in his MO. What run(s) in particular are you thinking about?

Aces. Thanks for putting a finger on it, I hadn't parsed all of that out. So very true. Hal is doing the wrong thing for the right reason, and Sinestro is doing the right thing for the wrong reason.

...my gut tells me that's actually really in-character.
