News in the West

In Kreen, the fighting between the Church of Forgiveness and the Kreen Guard was put on hold as the Dastinian Revolutionary Front sent military in to keep the peace.

The Yodelers have been completely routed by the Recyclers, who now control Brashland Peaks.

The 2nd Legion has attack the Shadow Speakers and done considerable damage. They say the Speakers have been infringing on the fort in preparations for an attack.

The Green bandits have been completely routed by the Vilshire Militia. They now are attempting to control Kratton with the few surviving men.

In the North

The prostetic arm for Elo is declared a success, as a massive number of specialists come down to Darkspire Mine. A huge breakthrough in Prostetic Technoloby has been made.

House Morn invaded the Silter Smelter, and attempted to destroy the Techmen. They almost succeded, but the Techmen somehow caused the Morn Army to go insane. The smelter is down to 70% capacitry and one furnace is burning the dead.

Commander Kraak has ventured out of Fostfort and has taken control of Merchants Haven. The Hedgemoni is still in the area, but their influence has been removed.

Rumors the Cult of Ash is still working in Darkspire with many arson problems in Darkspire mine.

In the South

A combination of the Silver Legion and The Serillian Engineering Core has marched on and defeated the Sprites that lived in Kalik Swamp. The Legion is now in control of the area.

Fearing the growth of the anti magic Silver Legion, the Magi and Patrice have joined forces and are looking for more military might to help with the forigen invaders.

In the Midland

The economic war between the Praton and Capitol Guilds that threw the capitol into chaos has mysteriously died down.

The Frost Rangers have marched into the desert and taken a large portion of the territory. Both the Crimson and Rangers took high Casualties in the fighting.

the Unity movement has been gaining ground with the Cult of Many and Jack Parcle Inc., which now have many believers in Unity.

The Reminants of the 6th Legion appear to have made it to the capitol and have joined ranks with the 5th Legion.

The High Loggers have struck out against the Preserve, killing many of their number and destroying much of their land.

The Jiran Milita seem to have been attacked by some sort of huge monsters. Many are dead and the monster seems to have retreated beneath ground.

In the East

The Naft Watch is now part of the New Highwaymen, and many believe this will be a new era of peace in Naft.

The Serillian Navy now has some of the largest weapons the world has ever seen. Only 1 fits on a boat, and it is questionable whether they will be able to be used, but the Navy is greatful for Technocorps help.

As Doctor Eston leaves to help with Elo's proceedure, the Eastern Army moves into Fort Vess and takes over. The people are happy with the development, but Doctor Eston is infuriated.

- The 5th Legion is calling on all military powers to bring men and personell to help besiege Harkon Castle to bring Grakon to Justice. The attack will happen within the Month

When future generations live with strength far beyond the limits of the natural body, they will remember this day as the start of it all. Congratulations on the success of the prosthetics experiment - it was a pleasure to contribute to such a grand gathering of minds.

I am slightly concerned, however, and I wished to discuss my thoughts with you. I saw Eston participated in the project. I'm sure you've heard the same rumors I have - the "Mad Doc of the East" and all. I know this prosthetic was of great importance to you and I understand that you wanted all the help you could get, but I urge you to be careful who you trust on such personal matters. Remind me to stay on your good side. Your ambition is admirable - the Smelter is a valuable asset in Darkspire, and control of its facilities will mean control of the city's industry. Those Techmen are stubborn, though. They weren't interested in dealing with me at the Darkspire Gathering, but clearly they have some tricks up their sleeve beyond what we've seen. I don't know about you, but that kind of secrecy from a powerful city service worries me.

You're well-connected, so you must have heard that the Recyclers have seized control of the Brashland Peaks. We now hold a significant portion of the mines here in the Northwest, and so far we've had agreeable relations in our smelting operations. You are a trusted ally of ours, so I'm sure a change in management will not disrupt our business with Darkspire. Eskany Morn moved briskly through the dim hallways, not bothering to hide her movements as her stepped echoed across the halls. She was in a hurry to beat other family members, stopping when she saw Zarran waiting for her.

"Why hello dear cousin Fancy seeing you in this part of the keep."

"Coy." Her voice was cold, and Zarran's shoulder twitched.

"Yes, well very good then."

Eskany moved past him, taking not of the scowl on his face. She opened the doors to see a mad scene, the kind that was normal in this place. Erran Morn was trying to drape herself over the surgeon. Vescian stood with his sword out looking across Krik and Krom, two boys named after the first Harkon King's children. In the corner Ocilla was trying to cajole her brother Ocifer who seemed in worse shape than their leader, whose eyes were open, and looking at her.

"Eskany, your arrival is most timely. Vescian, our spymaster will stand by my side, please kill any family that does not leave within the minute." His eyes lingered on Erran. "And make sure Erran doesn't take the surgeon with her. He has a job to do."

Ocilla helped her muttering brother to his feet, and moved for the door. Those two were not the ones Decusiel was concerned about. The others bowed to their wishes, Erran with a pout, the two brothers with frustration.

As soon as they had left Decusiel's eyes closed and he seemed to sink into his bed. Upon closer inspection Eskany could see her lord was in great pain. The surgeon tried to collect himself, putting his lust off to one side, and facing the fear of being with a Lord of the Glorious House of Morn where failure meant death at best. "My Lord Decusiel... I am sorry, but this will be very painful. Better to give you the herbs and-"

"No." His voice was weaker this time, but Decusiel was one not to dull his senses, for any reason.

Your praise is most welcome in these chaotic times, and we congratulate you on your own victory. Yes, the Techmen are in possession of a powder that induces madness, and losses on both sides were considerable. However, now we wait for the reaction of the Guilds of Darkspire. I must admit, I too am curious to hear from the Guilds. I spent much of this past month working with Elo, and I feel I know him fairly well now. That new arm of his, though... it's changed him. I'm not sure how it will affect his decision-making, but I am somewhat concerned that he has already met the fate of Doc Eston's infamous other patients. Some of the guilds do not respect the Recyclers, but Elo and the Guild of Enlightenment have always been steadfast allies to our cause. If his judgment is jeopardized... well, I would hate to see the good people of Darkspire suffer in the Guilds' districts.

The 5th Legion will march forward and ram the gate down, then move across the parpets of the castle removing the archers and balistia before going inside. Meanwhile, you will move into the castle with the mission of finding the King and killing him. We imagine there will be heavy resistance in the Grand Hallway as you enter, but afterward you should only have traps to worry about. Are there any questions?

So few, now that he was looking over their bodies on the ground, to stand against so many. It grieved the Prophet deeply to see it. All of the tribes' brave men dead, and for what? So the Rangers could expand their power without running afoul of the other iron men in the north? So that the mercenary Legionas could claim dominion over a few sparse watering holes? He could see the Rangers' camp from where he stood, but he could muster no fear of them in his heart. They dared not move far from their stolen oasis, not after the past month. The men of the mountain had come down into the desert and Garham had eaten them whole.

"We come from dust," said the Prophet again, "and to dust all of us are returned. Sleep well, my warriors. More will join you soon enough."

The Hand of God stood nearby, saying nothing, watching the Rangers' camp with hungry eyes, knowing the red work that was to come.

As a matter of fact, we did. No more pretenses; we are not particularly concerned with Frostfort or the goings-on of the east. You never know who's listening, and I did not wish to tip my hand too early. No, what we are truly concerned about is the feud in the Jarrdik and Garham Desert.

I don't know how you feel about the Frost Rangers; it isn't my business to spy on other people's relations. However, I will let you know my opinion. In our brief meetings, the leadership of the Frost Rangers have proven to be rash and overly emotional - their recent unprovoked assault on the Desert only proves their reckless nature. I'm sure you realize that the Northwest is a powder keg just waiting to go off, and if the Rangers are left to throw their armies wherever they please, they may be the ones to ignite it.

I propose a coordinated effort for our mutual benefit. The Recyclers are prepared to send troops into the Jarrdik to pacify the region and ensure that the Northwest remains stable. The Rangers are weakened by their campaign against the Crimson, and now is the best chance we'll have to strike. I would like you as an ally in this attack. A two-pronged assault would surely crush the Rangers' defenses, and I hope an agreement beforehand will make it easier to secure the region for the future.

This is what I propose. Send your military to attack the Frost Rangers from the east while I attack from the west. Together, we can crush them before they cause more serious trouble. Once they fall, allow the Recyclers to take control of the Jarrdik. In exchange for this assistance, you will secure a long-term ally in the west - while the Frost Rangers were reckless and power-hungry, you have my word that the Recyclers will respect your borders and allow you to devote your attention to the south and east. Lorenzo was one of the leaders of the Naft Gang. Most of the gangsmen have accepted to leave their crimes behind and reform, creating Naft Watch.

Lorenzo and his cronies pretended to play along, and tried to corrupt the Watch.

His cronies were destroyed last month; but Lorenzo took the Margrave of Lastion coast as a hostage and run away. Luckily the Margrave was recovered unharmed; but there is no question about this.

Lorenzo is a foul criminal, who must be brought to justice.
