Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
Ah, sorry btw, you have to wait for the other cake until next week. Didn't have the time to sort one out for yesterday as I had to spend most of my time on a horizontal position. You can go back to the last week's cake and drool over that for the time being.
What the heck are you using that dust for?! *furious wiping* We need to be presentable, young lad!
Oh, just shut it.
Bah, you'd love my nephew. Although, you wouldn't love him with his early mornings. Nope. Nope. Nope. *tries to sleep but fails*
Oh, his delusion of ruling this corner will end soon.
No! No dust!
Well, the grave I've been digging comes handy now, doesn't it?

*shrug* I just consider the aesthetics.
Yeah, kinda figured it'd be like that.
I don't really know, I've never had an aunt, just great aunties that seem to be dropping dead as of late... Only have two uncles too, so. Hrm.
Ahh...
You put that thought in my head, Coidbear!
*snicker* Ice cream munchies... Heh. I personally am quite glad I don't really care for ice cream anymore. Not even bitter about the whole deal... damn it dairy allergy!
What the heck? Just because I'm friendly to others doesn't give anyone the right to "ship" me with them. It's rude and unnecessary to the conversation.
Mammy's feeling a bit unimpressed right now, though... Time out! *puts Coidz on the top shelf*Originally Posted by LaZodiac

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
Indeed. Been getting up around 7-9 due to such goings on myself. Not fun, since I'm still having trouble getting to sleep before 2 AM.
That's always rough. :/
Oh, did I now? And here I thought you were resistant to my powers of putting things into people's heads.
Delicious, delicious ice cream. That reminds me. Someone mentioned combining ice cream and hot chocolate the other day. I should experiment with this. *hug* If only it weren't an allergy but basically anything else.
Well, you know, it's complicated, like all human interaction.
How many layers of shelves are you putting up on this thing? Oy Gevalt. *shrug* Ah well, time to hunker down and sleep in the soil of a nice chili, I guess. Goodnight everybody.

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
I despise people like that. Not the laughing at the end of Mice and Men, but the people who think they have to act as if they aren't emotionally affected by things that are real, or think it's cool to be without empathy or ethics. But Branagh's Othello totally had a hilarious scene. It was when Iago was trying to get the handkerchief from Emilia and he is just making out with her on the bed. Suddenly he sits up totally straight, shouts "TRIFLES", and basically just walks off screen. Everyone was ****ing hysterical over that, jsut from the mood switch.
But... they have nothing that would make them work well together. They didn't even have chemistry in the film.
THEN HE SHOULD HAVE HIRED A SQUIRMOLOGIST. I THINK THEY HAVE THOSE IN DENMARK.
Aww, does Coidzpapa need nannying at the moment too?

Actually, he totally got them to squirm. It was mission accomplished for him. He just then proceeded to take FOREVER to go about actually getting revenge.
See, I often actually do act as if I'm not emotionally affected by things, because when I see them I don't trust the people around me with my emotions. Then I call my sister and we yell about the feels.
I'm not saying that there aren't comic scenes, I'm just saying that certain immature people would be likely to make fun of the dramatic scenes as well,
Perhaps, although their one-on-one interaction in the film was rather limited, so I feel something could happen there. It's mostly just that Cold War is the most aesthetically appealing ship.
NOT UNTIL THE 18TH CENTURY, SO SHAKESPEARE COULDN'T HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THEM.

My choices:
1) Cake
2) Maybe cake later
3) Cake + maybe cake later
Anyone that chooses something besides option three should give me the one they passed up.
Bah.
Don't you glower at me, that was damn funny. I can't decide if I the book's ending or the movie's ending was funnier, though. The book has the hilarious part where Lennie is hallucinating, but the movie is just hilariously abrupt.Avatar by FinnLassie

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
Perhaps that's the explanation, if it hurt so much to you that even complaining wasn't worth it.
No, the wavy knife is for bread and other foodstuff with a hard crust, and has a tendency to curve toward one side or another (which is annoying when you try to make straight slices). Meat should be cut with a straight, sharp edge.
Also, ow! I hope it isn't too deep...
Why bleach? Cold water and some detergent should take it all away.
Welcome to my life. I blame this for one of the reasons to why I can't gain weight...
Well, there is one weekly market, but they mostly deal in fresh greens and clothes and accessories, and no, no fairs selling gemstones, at least not in my town (and I think we'd actually call them something Swedish )...
Hmm, perhaps you could try to go for something slightly larger than a ring, like a buckle or a necklace... A cape buckle would be quite awesome, if requiring a cape to show off...
Ahh, good, I got the idea that you had yet to visit a doctor when you wrote all that.
And while that's true over here as well, it isn't everywhere...

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
So many academics, while amazing lecturers and teachers, should not be allowed to write an introductory book on a subject, or sometimes even one that finds its way onto an undergraduate's reading list.
Although for that one I should partially blame on the people who set the list; however, I do concede that sometimes the material in the books are just so useful, or so pivotal to a certain essay they have to be there, and conscientious tutors/lecturers/blah do (and should) make a note that the material is difficult/dry/[problem] and the pertinent information is found in ch. [x], or just make themselves available to explain it.
I really like the [Subject]: A Very Short Introduction series, though given each one is written by an expert in [topic], so you can still run into obstruse writing styles. But the plus side is that they're typically one hundred pages give or take, The size of the pages is less than an A5 piece and paper, and they always include a sizeable Further Reading section broken down by chapter so you can direction your own interest more easily.
All the Cambridge Companion are usually of very high quality. These are a collection of essays on [topic], but since they are essays the writing is often clearer because there's a rough page limit to it. Depending on the subject they might sort it by chronology, theme or style or something else entirely. Not all these chapters are aimed at beginners, instead it's just as if they wrote essays aimed at undergraduates, but in such a way that a novice would mostly understand as well.
Personally, I've never had a problem reading a Cambridge Companion or reading the bits I wanted or needed to, but that's still not to say that some of the material isn't challenging at times.
The other good point with both of these series, as opposed to many of the 'popular' history/science/etc. books aimed at the beginner/lay person is that these are all academically rigorous books with (hopefully) few to no misconceptions.
That is, all the information is accurate, as much as it is given to you, but it won't be entirely accurate because parts of it have been glossed over for length (VSI) or because the Companion, I think, pretty much allows its essayists relatively free reign to write what they want within a broad topic, so with the Companion they'll write how they interpret a thing, and that gives you a starting point on whether you agree with the reading or not, and then off you go.

It was the opposite of sad! The only thing even remotely sad about it was the fact that someone died, which is overshadowed by how hilarious the events immediately prior to that are.

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
Hmm, I need to catch up on my Branagh then. XD
I like to refer to those as "out of left field"/"tidying up loose ends"/"refusing to go with actual chemistry" ships, myself.
Well, something is rotten in the state of Denmark, so that makes sense.
Well, he did sort of get his throat cut open and bits of his body surgically altered, so...
Hmm. Usually when I get that reaction there's more tildes involved or I get multiple exclamation points, the surest sign of a diseased mind, especially when they can actually pronounce them. I suppose you are rather adorable until you start stabbing or brandishing your collection of skull goblets. and always thirsty because the liquid keeps flowing out the eye sockets. XD
Exactly. *coff*
Faiilure or refusal? I'll have you know I made the quarter finals in my frosh Gay Chicken competition. And, no, I started dating when I was younger than you, lass, at least, going by the latest figures I have to go on.

*pats* I'm sorry.
Oh, it's more complicated than just that which makes you complicated like a puzzlebox with no seams.

Hmm. Intriguing. I shall have to keep this in mind then.

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
I can understand that. The thought of me being shipped makes me feel like laughing a bit but also makes me very nervous. Even if the shipping does not involve curses.
Hehe awe. There's a lot of sweetness here it seems.
I was laughing because of not having heard of people referred to that way at all ever, but I guess now I see what you mean, and it seems nice. So you just keep on being all mammy-like, it's a good thing.
Hmm and who exactly says that this is cute? Also is your nose okay?
I would pick 4, all of the above. I have a crazy sweet tooth, and I need to emulate Honey-sempai more anyway.
But it wasn't funny! I mean yeah, the abruptness was kinda. But still...so sad.
Oh is this so? I am personally terrible with knowing which tool to use for what. And I'd prefer not to follow in the example of others and cut myself deep using the wrong knife. Injuries bother me.
Here! Take some of my weight away! Take a bunch!
Hehe nice, teaching that grass a lesson. Got a lake over here too but no one to go with, and I don't want to go down there alone and without snacks.
I definitely agree. I never saw Old Yeller but I heard it all, how it went. Though I can compare it in sadness to Where the Red Fern Grows. So much sad. W must dispel the sad.
Also to everyone again good morning/afternoon/evening! Gotta love waking up by a leg cramp.
