Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
I shall look forward to the conflicting advice given to the new artists.

Has hell frozen over...
... and is that a pig I see flying over the horizon?
It should probably be quite possible with your current program, but you might have to be slightly more careful?
As if they weren't given that before this.
They will just have to specify if they want to learn the noodle-arms or not, everything else will be more or less the same.

Either way, they'll definitely be needing boots once they hit the North. Seems rather chilly up there
Erm okay been redirected from Socksy's thread to here, where I understand it's acceptable to post OotS-related fan art that isn't necessarily OotS-style...right?"Do you even know what you're doing?"

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Cheers! Here are a couple of Tarky pics ^^
This is an old one where I tried doing something in a different perspective, though certain parts may be a tad warped in scale
In this more recent one I was still going for the Roman look for Tarquin. I forgot to draw his kilt to the alignment of his legs, so it looks like one of those 2D “dress up Tyrant” accessory stickers. At least I got to doodle Malack =3
Spoiler: Their conversation
Tarquin: ...then suddenly, he burst in through the window screaming his Objection before the Priest had even gotten close to asking the congregation! The boy was cut up so badly, I had my guards escort him out and patch him up.
Malack: I trust your wedding was not disturbed thereafter?
Tarquin: Nope. The fool charged in again, but this time through the heavily guarded side-chapel! I ask you, what is the point of having the fifty-foot cathedral doors well-oiled and unlocked with only a single guard posted if the hero isn't going to make his grand entrance, much less the effort of showing up on time?
Malack: Once more I must remind you that not everyone shares your adherence to dramatic convention. I suppose you had him removed permanently?
Tarquin: I did what any triumphantly newly-wed tyrant would do.
...
Malack: You invited him –
Tarquin: - I invited him to the reception yes.
Malack: This jilted lover is amongst us now?
Tarquin: Oh Gods no! I had him drowned in the new flush-toilet next door. You know the one that Laurin arranged for us? Unrequited love I can understand, but such incompetence I cannot abide!

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
I got a request to draw an extra banner to the Mafia/Werewolf games in the structured games section of the forums. I participated in them a bit more a few years back and drew them a couple of banners at the time. I depicted the three most common different sides, but apparently forgot the hard-working Narrator of the game.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
And here is my current avatar, I made it to fit a role I play in one of the aforementioned games. I may be terrible at text - but I can try to distract people with pretty pictures instead!
Spoiler: Video
In this video I decided to ditch my format of aiming for 15-20 minutes long videos. I felt that most people wouldn't care to watch that, and I myself noticed that I started to get distracted after 6-7 minutes on other peoples videos.
It turned out quite well, considering that I didn't try to adapt during the drawing to the new increased speed. If I try to stay on the same magnification more instead of quickly change it could work quite nice. The video got a more growing feel to it.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Thanks ^^
Hopefully my drawing is good enough that we're thinking of the same person Tarquin puts me in mind of Timothy Dalton, so I gave him his eyebrows and chin
Cool videos! Is that what Inkscape is? It looks like a fun programme to create/play/tinker with.
Also, I want Cauthon's hat."Do you even know what you're doing?"

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
It might be, it was ages since I saw something with him in so it would explain my problem to pin-point it. ^^
And yes, it is Inkscape - a quite decent program when it comes to making Oots-inspired avatars. And more but I can't dream about that level of skill.
... ... ... Dangit! You've ruined it for me - now I might have to go back and change his expression!

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Oh boy, you were busy, Tsofu. Those are great work. I especially like the Mat Cauthon one. I don't remember the character from my attempt to read the series, but I really like that hat!
In fact, it inspired me to make an avi of my own after so long.
This is my boyfriend's character Dena, which some of you may recall seeing an avi or two of in the past. This time she's in very fancy clothing with an awesome hat. *nodnod*

Took me long enough to actually draw this character.
I made her character sheet weeks ago.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
You're the best kind of person. I would totally beg for that avatar off you, if you hadn't made it for somebody else.
Hey now. It could be a map of military placements and movements. He's alright with those. The scarf should be black though. It's one of his distinctive character traits. >.>Last edited by Ashen Lilies; 2014-04-07 at 03:00 PM.

I'll throw a few in here. I generally make a new one of these for each character I play, and I've really liked how the last few turned out.

I think I like the new noodley appendage style. The hands, etc. definitely stand out more, making gestures and the like more noticeable.
